QUOTE (Heads22 @ Mar 27, 2013 -> 08:34 PM) They were an NCAA quality team but not an NCAA worthy team, if that makes sense. It does and I don't disagree. They had their opportunities to be NCAA worthy and failed in that regard. Still, I like what Fran has done and the team is headed in a nice direction and having Marble lead the team as a senior will be great to go with White, Woodbury, Gessel, etc.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 17, 2013 -> 04:10 PM) Hopefully Iowa doesn't play only HS teams in the non conf next year... They blew 4 games against top big ten teams that they should have won. They didn't. They are moving in the right direction and would have been worthy of a birth. They are doing a nice job in the NIT and had a big road win against Virginia today (ending their long home winning streak).

Lol @ Thibbs. THey ask him a question about nate...he goes some good, some bad. Mumbles...he did ok.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 27, 2013 -> 07:35 PM) Hinrich is trying to set a record for number of times blocked in a quarter. He played a great 4th quarter as a whole though. Having him in the lineup makes the Bulls better (and allows Nate to do what he does best). Alright Rose...take this and man the f*** up and play. In fact, book it, Rose is playing the next game.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 27, 2013 -> 07:30 PM) f*** that, James went after Boozer with his shoulder/arm. That's a flagrant. The Bulls foul was clean...James was a flagrant 2 in my mind. Van Gundy was off his rocker. That was a great f***ing game. Physical, hard play. We need more of that. NBA needs to stop sissifying things.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Mar 27, 2013 -> 10:56 AM) I just know him from Yes, Dear, and he was the best on that show. Ummmm...there was this show called "Guts".

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 27, 2013 -> 06:47 AM) To be fair, this is a business. Each player has to look out for himself first and foremost. Derrick Rose is an incredibly powerful brand, and if he comes back and looks like s*** (I'm not going to bring up re-injury, doctors with degrees have stated he has no more risk than anyone else) then that hurts his brand. He wants to come back at that top level. It's what we love about him, so it's hard to turn on him even though it's frustrating as hell. And yes, my opinion on this changes daily, because I've got so much emotion invested in Derrick Rose. It's ridiculous. And to be fair, right around that same time, the Bulls started dropping like flies.

All New Soccer Thread ~ All Levels ~ All Leagues
Chisoxfn replied to Texsox's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
f***ing awesome!!! Mexico got jobbed on what should have been a PK and outplayed the US. Besides that penalty they had 3 opportunities which should have been nailed. I'll take the point in the toughest international stadium to play at!!! -
IF Peavy is healthy, he'll be real good. He flat out knows how to pitch. I hope he is, I really love his attitude and determination. That said, I hope he's in great shape cause he was used and abused last year.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 20, 2013 -> 09:16 PM) And it's mostly Lovie's fault for having him play in that meaningless game against the Vikings. Thats ridiculous. It was still a game. Plenty of other starters were in. Should teams just quit at week 12. It wasn't like he was playing hurt. He was healthy and got hurt. It happens.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Mar 20, 2013 -> 08:53 PM) I do not like letting Urlacher go. I dont like the fact that we have one LB left with more than a few minutes experience playing in the NFL. I dont like the implication that we are now going to spend, without a doubt, one of our first two picks on a LB when what we really need to do is draft two OL. Urlacher may have been way under par athletically and entirely incapable of being the player he used to be, but he at least knew where to be and was never out of position because he made a mental error. The new guy will undoubtedly be a rookie, f***ing up left and right, biting on fakes, not knowing where to be, generally being confused. But not just that, he'd be a rookie playing a position we could've had covered for this season while Cutler still runs for his life because as it stands now there are 4 guys on our OL that barely deserve to be on NFL rosters. My biggest issue with losing Urlacher is we clearly don't have a replacement for him and now have a need at 2 starting spots in the linebacker corps.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 20, 2013 -> 07:03 PM) I seem to remember pointing out that Urlacher sucked a year or two ago and that Briggs was much more important to this defense...and getting absolutely bashed for it...is this sour grapes or do people finally see that this guy has been overrated since about 2008? I remember being right there with you regarding Briggs. I love me some Briggsy!

MLB Finally Adding Worldwide Draft??
Chisoxfn replied to The Ultimate Champion's topic in FutureSox Board
Did this actually happen? I have a job so if someone posts someone I expect there to be a link. I went to two sites and found nothing so I assume this is more discussion or there have been some movements that MLB is getting closer to getting all parties to agree to such? Clearly Selig has wanted to do this for a while. -
Wow, Bulls comeback ruined. If Noah didn't tip that, I think that is a bucket by Belinelli.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 17, 2013 -> 10:54 PM) Jake Long to Rams for $36M/4 Years To be honest, that isn't a bad deal at all. Sure he has some injury issues but that is relatively reasonable (especially the yrs).

Its downright disgraceful. Disgusting. Its one thing to be wrong with info its another to flat out lie. Its crap like that which causes people to give good blogs and websites with good and real sources a hard time/crap when they are wrong.

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 08:53 AM) So Kobe's hurt and whining like a b**** about a dirty play. I'm not sure I see that, but I can't really be impartial when it comes to Kobe. Jones definitely steps into and fouls him, but I don't think you can infer intent to injure from that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihq0xxIlkaU...eature=youtu.be I'll bet Dwight Howard will have some interesting tips for Kobe about sucking it up and playing through pain. You have to remember this is the same player who admitted he intentionally tripped Kobe back when he was on the Nuggets.

Both of these deals are pretty reasonable deals. Neither guys are stars but both fill major needs and make the team better. Got to really love it. Plus, unlike last year where Emery ended up signing a bunch of role players, these guys are starters at key positions (TE & LT). I think there is a decent chance they add another starter at the guard position this off-season as well via free agency and possibly another starter on the oline via draft (I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we had 3 new starters on the line and fully expect 2 new starters).

I would like to sign Heyward Bay at the right price. Total speed burner.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Mar 11, 2013 -> 03:17 PM) Haven't seen a college baseball thread, but had to mention this somewhere... Indiana Baseball Cracks Top 25 For First Time Ever Meh. *Cough* #8 Ranked Titans *cough*

QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Mar 12, 2013 -> 04:16 PM) Absolutely. And even more important we can have Webb & Carimi COMPETING at RT, because J'Marcus Webb needs a fire under his ass, self-motivation is not his forte. EDIT: and hopefully Webb proves to be a solid RT and Carimi could maybe play RG? I want the Bears to draft Cooper @ 20, although who knows if he's around.
