  1. Woot Woot...job offer received. 24% increase in salary, get to find out about the benefits and potential bonuses shortly. Most importantly I think I'll be going from 50+ hr's a week a good chunk of the year (currently doing 65 or so) to 40 hr's.
  2. Wish me luck...tomorrow I find out if I got this new job that I interviewed for on Friday. It was supposed to be today, but now it won't be until tomorrow. Come on baby!!!

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 22, 2009 -> 07:03 AM) Saw Taken last night and was thoroughly entertained. Yeah most of it was implausible and there were some corny scenes, especially everything leading up to the trip to Paris, but it was fun. I'm also surprised at PG-13 ratings given to movies like this and Dark Knight. They were both ultra violent and I couldn't help but think what the heck did it need to get an R rating? I guess if they showed a boob it would have gotten the R but having 40 people savagely killed or injured is fine. A sad commentary on society today that violence is so easily accepted. I watched it last night too and really enjoyed it. Reminded me a bit of Man on Fire, but with more action (maybe not as good of a story but still badass).
  4. Fullerton is 1-2 with a shot to be even worse after some other tough games this week (@ SDSU, Vs Stanford for 3).
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 02:53 PM) This isnt homerism because for the most part I didnt like him at OSU, but Robiskie could be a pretty good fit for the Bears. He can stretch the field, runs good routes and can catch the ball in traffic. After putting up a solid 40, there is no way a guy like Robinskie falls to where we pick in the 2nd. I want the Bears to draft a WR early as well as well as sign a veteran like Harrison or Holt (preferably Holt). Combine them with Hester and Bennett and I'll be very content.
  6. Hayward and Nicks both look like good guys for the Bears to target in the 1st round. I would than look at a tackle that fell in the 2nd round.
  7. Still, the team looked discombombulated at times out there, which is to be expected when you have as many new faces as they have. Would have been a nice road win though.
  8. A young fullerton team (5th in the country) is now 1-1 after they lost a late game against TCU. Hopefully they can get the win Sunday so they are 2-1 heading into what should be a tough midweek game vs SDSU and than a home series against Stanford (which I'll definately be at).
  9. Appreciated as always Cubano. Can't wait to actually see him swing the lumber and hopefully rake.
  10. I'm really excited about the Bulls. Paxson did a great job at the deadline. Plus Hinrich is still here and I really love the guy. He's a really good player when he's healthy. He had one really awful stretch of his career last season and it was when he was just flat out trying to do too much.
  11. I have a job interview at 2:45 today...get to meet with the controller, talent coordinator, and CAO.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 18, 2009 -> 09:02 PM) If the Bulls really did turn down the Hinrich deal, that's pretty bad. If you can get rid of that contract, you do it, period. Hopefully SOMETHING happens tomorrow, although it would be no surprise if nothing happens. I don't necessarily agree with that logic. Hinrich has value. In fact, they could move him for Kaman right now (apparently). The question is what do the Bulls do with a front court of Miller/Kaman/Tyrus/Noah. Clearly they'd have to find a way to move one or two of those guys, but they might be able to do that in the off-season (Miller's contract, plus one of Noah/TT and others could net you that star for those trying to set things up for 2010).
  13. Per KC Johnson...the Huges to the Knicks deal fell through (was almost complete) and the Minny Hinrich swap was turned down by the Bulls.
  14. I would love Chris Kaman. I must also say that the only way I want Hinrich dealt is if we get cap relief and the Bulls plan on going all f***ing out in 2010 (or sooner) to get another star here. Thats it, no iffs ands or butts about it. Otherwise Hinrich is a far better player than most on here feel.
  15. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 18, 2009 -> 07:09 PM) They have NO shot at winning a playoff series this year since they'd be playing one of the big 3 if they make it. As for Salmons being Gordon insurance, that's probably true, but Salmons is having a career year this year and still isn't the offensive player that Gordon is (I can't speak for Salmons defense, haven't seen him play a whole lot.) I'm not saying Salmons is better than Gordon, far from it. But if the Bulls pick up Bosh in 2010, they'll still have Salmons around (he'll probably accept his option) and you'd be talking about Salmons being either a 6th man or your starting 2 guard (yet he'd be option number 4 or 5 with Bosh/Deng/Rose all being ahead). To me that is the perfect spot to have a guy like John Salmons. Tyrus would probably be the 4th, imo. But Salmons could hit down the big 3's. I could also see a case in point for resigning Gordon if the Bulls were able to clear off enough other guys to make sure they could still make one max offer in 2010 (ie, Bosh, Amare, LBJ).
  16. Awesome. Sox should at least sign big frank and let him reitire a White Sox (if in fact he will retire).
  17. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 18, 2009 -> 06:04 PM) The only relevance of this trade was financial reasons. By the time the Bulls are good enough to matter, Brad Miller will be too old or on another team, and John Salmons is a journeyman having a career year who turns 30 in 10 months. It's a fitting Paxson type move, some noise with minimal to no relevance. I understand that this move along with perhaps moving Kirk Hinrich tomorrow puts the Bulls in better position for the summer of 2010, but do YOU trust John Paxson to make the big, good moves then? I don't. Hopefully he'll be gone though. Miller and Solmons give the Bulls nice depth that should help them make the playoffs both this year and next year though, plus Salmons gives them a guard for next season when Gordon leaves (assuming he does leave).
  18. It's just not that easy to forge documents anymore so I'd think that the proper age is on there.
  19. There is also a rumor floating that Thabo will be traded for Noah Lowry or Jaryd Blayless. Not certain how much truth there is to this, but if the Bulls move Hinrich they will have a need for a PG of some sort and either on of these guys would be nice fits behind Rose. Plus Salmons comes in as a lengthier 2 guard and that is the one thing Sef currently possesses that none of the other Bulls guards do (aside from Hughes).
  20. From ESPN http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?p...kRoundup-090218 I'm not going to lie, Bosh teaming up with Deng/Thomas/Noah/Rose would be pretty badass.
  21. No offense to the Bulls but if they had the caproom for lebron and they didn't make an effort to sign him i'd be f***ing pissed. The money is the same for Lebron or Bosh (the reality is it would be) and LBJ might be the best player in the NBA at that point. You clearly make a run at him. I guess the other theory would be that you don't get burned banking on LBJ and than lose out on him while realizing all of the other options have already signed elsewhere.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 18, 2009 -> 04:15 PM) They want to go after Bosh or Stoudemire. From a very good source, they don't want Lebron or Wade because they want Rose to have the ball as much as possible. I'd be really content with a 2010 front line of Bosh or Stoudemire, TT, and Noah.
  23. They might instead opt to hold onto Kirk Hinrich until the off-season and than move him for expiring deals (plus Phoenix covets Hinrich so that could still give them leverage to pull off a deal for Amare if he becomes available again). Hinrich could than help the bulls make the playoffs this year and potentially even up his trade value.
  24. If the Bulls pulled off those trades, they just became the front-runners, along with the Knicks to land at least one of the big name players. Wade or Lebron would look fantastic in Chicago but you also always have the option of Bosh/Amare. Plus if the Bulls wanted to, they could do sign and trades or even flat out pull off a trade next deadline to land one of those guys early and than negotiate another max contract.
