I'm out of college but since i got two weeks till my new job starts, I'm having two (or three) spring breaks. 1. Vegas this Thursday through Sunday....at the Wynn, will be glued to the tv's watching march madness 2. Arizona next Friday through Monday....watching spring training baseball, can't wait to hear the crack of a bat. 3. Entertaining Mario (molto) and Jeff (shipps) in LA/San Diego before we all road trip out to AZ.
  4. Sweet, I was just about to go get my keepers set. I'm actually planning on being at the draft, but I might have to leave midway into it to attend my softball game.
  5. My Titans have been on a hell of a run. Just been winnimg machines, aside from one game that they blew to #18 Oklahoma State. They are hitting hr's like its nobodies business and its kind of odd given that its Fullerton.
  6. Jones was born the exact same day and year as me. I think he'd be a real nice upgrade.
  7. I'm with you Santo. If I'm running a franchise, my scouts have either showed there committment by attending college, learning how to put together good reports and just a better understanding and education of how things work or they have went through another type of college in a sense, the baseball college (ie, playing through college and into the minors). This isn't to say all minor league players are worthy of being scouts, but certain guys have that eye for talent and they understand exactly what it takes to succeed and can identify players that have that ability even if they didn't. If I'm hiring a guy that didn't have baseball experience, they better A impress the hell out of me with there enthusiasm and overall knowledge of baseball and on top of it have a hell of a resumse because overall there are a lot of people who have an overall interest in becoming a scout or getting involved in baseball and because of that I'm going to be picky as hell and pick the guys with the best overall resumes and that means the kid who busted his ass through college while interning for baseball teams and doing some sort of amateur scouting (I'd hope that his resume would include some amateur scouting reports as well).
  8. The best option might be Ramirez in CF, Getz at 2B, and Beckham at SS. I just don't know if Beckham is ready defensively and he obviously still is pretty inexperienced, but darn does he look good.

My girls taking me out for steak tonight...I wonder if she was surfing Soxtalk, lol.
  10. Jonathan Stewart showed some pretty good flashes too.
  11. Strong arm and ridiculous bat speed. Geeze, talk about impressive.
  12. Reset your cache or clear your cookies. Either one should do the trick.

I just love being able to actually watch competitive baseball on TV. I have really missed it. Can't wait for baseball season to start. I keep trying to find a way to switch to direct tv so I can get all the games in HD but I just don't see how financially speaking DirectTV is worth it. To get two hddvr's I got to shell out money, plus we have another hd tv that I'd have to pay 100 bucks for a box and on top of it if anything goes wrong with my equipment I have to pay and the installation isn't going to be near as nice as what I have with cable where my place has all the wires already (since apparently sattelite companies still are too retarded to figure out a way to utilize existing coaxial cables.
  14. I'll be able to tell people for next season, but I won't be out there for another two weeks. I can offer advice on all the other facilities though, with the exception of the Tribe's new stadium.
  15. Not loving mine, so if anyone is interested in acquiring some power I have Derek Lee and Jason Bay as potential options for someone and am willing to deal Manny. PItchers: Roy Oswalt Carlos Zambrano Hitters: Manny Ramirez Brian McCann Rafael Furcal
  16. Pudge would be a great backup against LHP, however, I don't see where he fits because AJ isn't exactly going to handle a reduced load and Pudge isn't going to come here for the same number of ab's that Hall got.
  17. Pretty good article.
  18. Oh and anyone who will tell me how great Forte is, I will tell you that running backs in the NFl are a dime a dozen and potential franchise QB's don't grow on trees. A franchise QB can run your franchise for 12-15 seasons where as a premiere running back and your lucky to get 5-6 real good seasons of production. Bottom line the value of a QB is a s***load higher than the value of a RB (and I love forte).
  19. All I know is its pretty hard. You'll have to start interviewing like crazy and probably do some amateur scouting or try to get a job in baseball and than get into that route from there. It's a very difficult, unrewarding path though. Take it from someone who had an offer or two to go into scouting, but as much as I love baseball and think it would be fun, I just didn't have the overall faith that I could make it to a position where I could really meet my long-term goals. Don't mean to be a downer, but it's the reality. The other thing I'd do, get your ass to spring training and find some scouts and talk to them (your in florida right?), so go to the grapefruit league and watch the minor league games and get educated (your going to want to talk about guys that impress you and really wow people, imo).
  20. Agreed on Sizemore.
  21. The key for spring is to gain confidence and stay healthy. After that, things change quickly because regular season play isn't even close to spring play. I would definately like to see Quentin get on a little role though.
  22. To be honest, Law is probably one of the worse scouts I've ever read. His analysis tend to be way off, however, scouts in general tend to be much more downers than uppers when talking about people. Law was focusing heavily on the negatives but what interested me was just how much he slammed Danks. Or was I mis-reading something late last night? Oh and the reason Law is one of the worse scouts I've ever read, simple, because not many scouts are writing blogs or analysis. You got to take his stuff for what its worth. He isn't the guy spewing out if everything goes right bulls***, he's basically stating where guys are right now. However, he has a beef with Kenny and is always harsher on White Sox guys and its pretty obvious. I'm not about to go off about how great our system is, because it isn't great, despite what you are hearing from Chicago. However, Its pretty obvious that you have quite a few legit major league young talent knocking on the door, the one problem, I'm not so certain any of them are destine to be stars (of the new group). The thing is they might have found there stars already in Ramirez, Quentin, Danks, Floyd. That said, Viciedo clearly has the shot to be an offensive juggernaut and Beckham could just be a tremendous all around player in the Jeter mold (I know people won't like that comparison, but I went there, Beckham is a ball player).
  23. Nice, Fullertons offense is unreal. They just obliterated #3 A&M 15-5 and in the last 4 games have scored 52 runs and hit 14 home runs. For anyone familiar with Titans baseball, they should know that Fullerton doesn't typically hit hr's and there freshman hitter Ramirez is unreal. The guy is a f***ing manchild. Talk about a potential top 10 pick.
  24. I would trade Matt Forte and Orton for Cutler or Forte and a future 2nd or this years 3rd. I'd probably even go with Forte and our 2nd pick for Cutler. Franchise QB's don't grow on trees.
