  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 03:03 PM) It started Sunday at 3:30 am, so it missed it, and would be in today's paper. They don't update the on-line version until about noon. I'll let you know what it saids. Wow. That takes a long time to hit.
  2. Did anyone catch the 60 minutes interview last night? I wanted to, but I missed it. Mike Wallace, who is Jewish, was thoroughly impressed by the man. Personally, I think the guy was grandstanding for the cameras... from what little snippets I saw on TV before the interview.
  3. Unless you're in a fairly new loan, then you're screwed.
  4. Except most of the damage was done with his offspeed stuff on Saturday. Interesting twist, isn't it?
  5. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 01:52 AM) Yeah, and if we were using those excuses, it was a bunch of crap too. I'm just tired of people saying that it's always something other than bad when a pitcher sucks, excuses are just too easy to fall back on. Good post. Man up... he had a bad game. Big deal.
  6. Garcia always is 'rocky' in the first inning. Strange how that is. The "w" is what matters, though.
  7. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 01:09 PM) Using some common sense here.. if you have 100K in unsecured avaliable credit, and only make 75k.. thus meaning that if you max your credit you will NEVER be able to pay it back, lose your house, car, etc... you will have a better score and get a better rate... That just makes no sense to me. The key is the debt to equity ratio and how that factors in your credit score. For most average households, what Steff says is true - but for anyone who makes over 125K - the reverse starts to happen, because you make enough to borrow more, so your credit score goes up. But you have to have had sustained earnings for a good while for that to happen. That's my understanding of it, so you're both right in a sense.
  8. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 01:42 AM) Your right. However, we are not talking about just getting into the playoffs, at least in this thread. This is about winning the divison, and IMO just winning the series isn't going to cut it. (Kap, you know I have no problem with the wild card, its just about the playoffs, but this thread is about winning the division) Yea, I see what you mean. I'm of the opinion actually, if we play .667 the rest of the way, we could just catch Detroit, because I think they're about a .500 team the rest of the way, which still gives them the mid 90s in win total, if I remember right (too lazy to look at the standings).
  9. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 10:51 PM) There is still ALOT of baseball left, but this series is so big for both clubs not only in the standings, but the mentality of both clubs. If the Sox can sweep "The Best Team in Baseball", and cut the lead to 5.5, things look great. With the two game swing at hand tomorrow, 5.5 and 7.5 are a huge difference in Mid August. It's big - but not essential. We need to play .667 baseball the rest of the way, and we'll be in the playoffs. One game at a time!!
  10. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 08:09 PM) With them heading to Boston and us hosting KC for 4 games....hence tomorrow is HUGE. Boston's playing like s*** right now, and Kansas City always plays us well. This ain't no picnic, friends.
  11. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 07:51 PM) who's with me Um, one game at a time. Remember, we have 4 in Detroit in two weeks. That's going to be a lot more important then these games are.
  12. QUOTE(Bonderman38 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 07:59 PM) Horrible defense by Detroit. I'm not worried though. Much bigger series for Chicago then it was for Detroit. And you'd be saying what if the tables were turned? Amazing how the tide is starting to turn and now the games don't matter as much? GMAB.
  13. QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 07:50 PM) was it the hook on 3-2 count? straight change.
  14. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 03:10 AM) OH MY f***ING GOD! HELL f***ING YES JOSE! Wow guys this is seriously unbelievable. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 03:17 AM) This is seriously just amazing, awesome, unbelievable. Good grief. Calm down. It's one game.
  15. well, cancel the postgame show, eh? Damn. Good roll, Count!!
  16. I just hope the real MB shows up tomorrow. We need him to have a good outing in a bad, bad way.
  17. QUOTE(Reddy @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 02:00 AM) its so funny how good detroit can be, yet we tend to be able to smack em around... i love that we have 10 more games with them Let's not get too cocky here, shall we? One game at a time, my friend, one game at a time.
  18. Funny, some guy on the series preview said the Sox owns Verlander...
  19. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 10:05 PM) Yes, some of the Tigers have been there before, but not as a team and the city of Detroit is going to be picking at Leyland and the players with tweezers. I don't care who they play, they are going to get beat BECAUSE they have been coasting all year. The playoffs are win or go home, the regular season is win or lose and go out to dinner. They don't know that kind of pressure and if they win the division easily, there's GOING to be pressure. That's what everyone was saying about us until about August 10th of last year when we started sucking. Let's see what happens - and Detroit can win it all. It's about time they get respect. Will they? That's debateable.
  20. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 07:59 PM) That's still a long range to the right. I agree that Uribe would've had a better chance, but it would've been an extremely tough throw. It probably would've had to have been a perfect laser right to PK, and Uribe has a tendency to bounce them in there. Carlton Fisk's is better all the way around, because he played for Boston. /carry on.
  21. This is a bigger issue then is made of it, IMO. If you pay for it, you should get it, PERIOD.
  22. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 06:52 PM) No, that story came from the East coast. I just said that former players were gossiping about the same stuff. When have I ever started a "story" here.... Every time you post about tatoos? Ok, that's all folks. Glad Simon is here...
  23. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 06:45 PM) I'm out. Attending the MLBPA Charity Golf Outing at the Grand Geneva. And unlike last year, which got this site in Sports Illustrated, don't come back with some "juicy" story. And yes, I know it wasn't you - but the story came from that, didn't it?
