A hard liner would have blitzed these guys. But, they had to do it the 'soft' way. And, the 'leftist' party is in charge now in Isreal. I absolutely see the connection. Balta, you're right in your comment. And Iran KNEW that this is how it would be played. Brilliant policy - and we got caught with our hands underneath our rear-end. BUT - I think underlying all of this is the 'liberal' regime that is in place in Isreal now. They were not prepared like they usually are. And it made them look foolish.

You'll get better responses from others, but one thing I can say is if it's not fixed right now, there's going to be a LOT of volitility in the markets over the next 3-5 years as the mortgage adjusts. If you don't lock in, good luck - a short term vs. long term issue - just be very careful to not be too shortsighted. If you can't pay for it now, there's probably a reason.

Don't borrow trouble, demand honesty, and give honesty in return. PERIOD. That's it.
