QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 28, 2006 -> 03:03 PM) I don't give a rat's ass what's going on in the clubhouse. 6 times in 2 months? A few players better be dying to get that much rest. We're in a race just to get to the playoffs. Six f***ing times? Milkman, with all due respect (and this time, I seriously am not trying to yap at you or be a jerk), unless you know what's going on in that clubhouse every day, you can't possibly know what's best. We can ASSUME what's best all day long (which we're all good at around here). I think I have a pretty good guess as to why this is happening, but honestly, I'm not willing to put it down here on the board. But I will say this - I think that in September, we're going to be better off then some teams, because of the "Sunday lineups". Will it be enough to get us in the playoffs? Time will tell.
-
Aye aye aye... Do you people really know what's going on in the clubhouse?
-
BTW, I was kidding about the whole July 31 thing. Hence the ' ' dude. Sorry 'bout that.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 08:25 AM) "real fans" can be negative... but "real fans" arent jumping on the bandwagon one week and jumping off the next. "Real fans" know that there is a lot of games to be played and overreacting now is pointless. Its ok to be upset at this team, especially with the pitching... the starters and Cotts. But "real fans" dont think the world is ending after every loss to a division rival who we are battling with for the playoffs.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 05:28 PM) I wonder if that something would be him getting traded or him replacing Pods in the outfield. Um, it's after July 31.

Someone mentioned the turnaround of Brian Anderson. That was Walker, pure and simple. He has brought his hands in that allows for quicker time to adjust his swing when coming through the zone. That's what good coaches do... and Walker has done that. He's not going anywhere. How about those pitchers start earning their paycheck?!??! (Milkman's going to love me here, )

Where's my lightning rod? I need one for your head.

Thanks for pointing out that Leyand is the worst manager of the game, well, save Ozzie.

Over the last two seasons, Garland leads the AL with 33 wins

Fence. Just like most of you people.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 03:26 PM) Isn't Ozzie pretty much the guy who talked Javy into screwing us over this year? What do you mean by this?

QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 03:11 AM) We state opinions on this board all the time. Opinions can't be proven. One can support them, but not prove them. They are not factual assertions. If we could only post on this forum things that we could prove, there were be about 12 posts. I guess I need to spell this out for you, then. I don't want people posting that they are playing purely because of their race. I'm not allowing that suggestion to even be implied, without further proof of KNOWING what's going on in the clubhouse (ie, you are THERE) - and there are very few on this board who get that priveledge. Otherwise, to suggest players are playing purely because of their race is not acceptable.

QUOTE(Harry&JimmyRocked @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 02:37 AM) If McCarthy and Anderson were latin players you bet bmac would be in the rotation and anderson would start everyday Just stop it. That's not true, and if it is PROVE IT, if you can't, don't say it again.

Ya'll are killing me.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 12:44 AM) Discovery Times Channel at 8: America's Secret Soldiers A classified military force must operate in an environment requiring expertise beyind traditional combat missions. That's quality right there.

Let me add: I think he's going to be good... not that good for at least two or three seasons. Hence, Ozzie's "you think the f***er was Cy Young" comments - that was breeded by all the heaping praise...

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 08:12 PM) Its pretty evident that Kenny and Ozzie see things different when it comes to Brandon. Ozzie's managing has been detrimental to McCarthy's development this season. He seems to finally be figuring things out in regards to Anderson (which is nice to see) but Ozzie has done an awful job (and I've been saying it all season) all season when it comes to McCarthy. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 08:51 PM) Different situations though. Buehrle was not pitching out of the pen for an entire season and he did have the ocassional spot start. Absolutely agree. But again, as I mentioned a couple of days ago, McCarthy is not going to be the "hallelujah boy" everyone is making him out to be... aka - Mark Prior for the Cubs. Sox fans about McCarthy sound just like Cub fans when it comes to Mark Prior (well at least before this latest injury fiasco).
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 07:28 PM) I doubt highly that Brandon is being worked in 100 pitch sessions on the side. He's only pitched 3 innings because that's what Ozzie has needed, in close games where we have the lead he can do the MMac, Thor, Jenks rotation and it's over, in games where we're behind we're throwing in Cotts and Riske and conceding the loss. Cotts and Riske pitching = conceding?

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 05:08 PM) At least you have a broad perspective, can rationalize the importance of the baseball world versus the real world, comprehend the ramifications of both and prioritize them in accordance to the impact they have on your daily life, and still work a 10 hour day. Yep. That pretty much somes up my life. Don't forget some baby drool thrown in there.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 04:36 PM) Eggzactly. You're killing me. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 05:03 PM) I wish my employees worried as much, and in as much detail, about their jobs as some of you guys do about the Sox woes. Oh yea. Like myself, for example.
-
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 02:37 PM) These guys should be arrested for all the money they're stealing. After all, if you go to the park, or watch them on TV, or buy other Sox products, it's YOUR money that you feel like they're stealing.

Why can't everyone just enjoy baseball for what it is? A GAME! A long season! Now sure, everyone has their "rights" to complain and vent, etc. It's guys out there ENTERTAINING YOU. Abosultely NOTHING more. This is a child's game that grown men play. I hate it that the game has lost its innocense. Go to a little league game, and the environment is awesome - (sans idiot parents who obsess like fans here do sometimes). That's what the game should be, not a bunch of showboating, moneygrubbing, obsessive crap.

This pretty much has been beat to death and isn't going anywhere. We all get it now.

QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 03:33 AM) Personally, I think analysis which boils down to: "We've got a good record and really anything could happen" isn't worth much. Pointing out what is wrong with the rotation, some regulars in the lineup and our manager is of considerably more value. At least it actually involves analysis with some depth and meaning. That beats "I'm sure everything is going to be all right. Last year was fun, wasn't it." Sure it does, until we see the same mindless drivel day in and day out by the same three or four posters. If you bring analysis and insight, that's one thing, but it's surely another to just rant and b**** and piss and moan about the same s*** day after day offering the same solutions day after day.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 10:04 PM) It has never, and will never make sense to me. I hate when the team plays like crap. I just got done responding in another thread about not wanting to go to the ballpark when they are playing like garbage. However, I will never understand the people last year with the choke avators, and the sigs that said "2005 is over... blah blah blah Did they want to choke? Why are you advertising that when it didnt even happen? Enjoy the Sox, and baseball. All of this is just a hobby we all have. Thats all it is. Why would you not enjoy your hobby? Why hate something your supposed to enjoy? Again, exactly.
