  1. I'll reword for you. Bush can only run on a 9/11 platform - the way he handled 9/11, the "war on terror" and the tax cuts. Other then that, he hasn't done squat. Right? If that's the case, you're probably right. But what has John Kerry done? Look at his voting record and tell me how he's any different?
  2. I think if you had a candidate (I don't beleive I am going to say this) like Bill Clinton (not the personal side) - likeable, with a vision, or at least very articulate and can speak his vision well, the Democrats would win in a landslide this November. I didn't agree with Billy's policies per se, but he was moderate enough to know what to fight for and not to fight for on the social issues. Except for Hillary Care, he did quite well with socio-economic issues. I applaud him for that. Get someone like that who has some balls for the military, and the Democrats have their candidate.

    Lunch Thread

Now there's a place to eat. "I'm gonna go to where my insides blow up, har har har..."
  4. I consider myself conservative and I think the majority of Americans, by nature, are quite conservative. Most people don't like change. I also think that Hannity and Limbaugh articulate themselves in a way that the common American understands. Most of the "leftist" radio shows fail because they cannot stand on an opinion - which leads to the "flip-flopping" they are usually accused of. I change my mind frequently on things, but it takes a good argument as to why - in other words, conservatives want a vaild reason to think what they do, not just "because the world is changing, so ah well I better change with it". Most people are rooted in their beliefs - and most Americans are "conservative" - not politically maybe - but we Americans like our lifestyle and don't want it to change, and that by nature is conservative, IMO.
  5. Do you really believe that? I personally think that those "left wing" people have a hard time taking a stand on anything. Conservatives usually are well rooted in their belief system and liberals don't know what to think and it makes it harder to be a well spoken person when you change your mind about things every 5 minutes. I don't mean that to be a slam, without people who think that way, the world would be a boring bunch of conservatives.
  6. ok, it's time for me to get a sig. The thing is, I don't know what I want. Gimme some ideas. Then, I'll go, YEA, DAT. And that'll be it.
  7. One thing that the Dems are right about. If 9/11 for some weird reason never happened, this president would be NOTHING. The only reason this man has an identity at all is because of 9/11.
  8. Those people in PA need something to do. I mean after all, most of them are steAl workers.
  9. I think this was already said, but if any of you have objections to what's going on, PM any of us. I think y'all have had a great response, you see what we are trying to do here, and it's much appreciated.

    What Happened?

The site sorta crashed. We had to do a backup from Aug 2.
  11. Naaw. What a stupid thought. I don't think many of you will see any changes at all. It's more for the deep stuff that was encountered in the last couple of weeks as ss2k keeps noting.
  12. The whole political process is pathetic. Neither these gals nor Bush's daughters should be subjected to this crap. But - it sure does make for an interesting picture, doesn't it, because you get outside a "staged event" the opinions seem to vary a lot more then the media would let you believe.
  13. I4E, I love your passion. However, Crimson said NOTHING about this subject and now he's a "hater"? Grow up. Every time you start to lose an argument you start this. I have a suggestion. Go back and tell us where Apu's points are wrong. I really like the debate because I learn the historical perspectives on both sides of an account. What I don't like is when you get so upset that people become "stupid" or "intellectually inferior" just because they don't see your viewpoint. No one is calling you anything or insulting you. We just want to see the posts Apu posted refuted in a manner that we can see where they are wrong. That's called debate, not telling anyone who disagrees with your point of view "inferior".
  14. shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... the media can never know this! Oh wait, even if they do, they won't report it.
  15. I4E, "facts" are only "facts" if you choose to believe them, and it's sad, really. I wish you could see other sides of it and realize that there are always more then one side to a story. You have described a factual document about what the story was by the goernments involved. Apu stated things from the people that were there. They are both "factual", it's what you choose to believe.
  16. Could it be if Isreal attacked then the US wouldn't have been able to sell billions and billions and billions and billions (you get the point) of dollars of equipment to someone who attacked us? Money talks...

    What Happened?

Not "trouble" per se, just seemed like some people wanted to be argumentative purely for the sake of arguing. The message trying to be sent is, debate, talk, even disagree, but let's not make everything personal. That's all, nothing more.
  18. I was in the Dominican Republic for a month for a class back in college (damn, that was over 10 years ago!!!!!!!) Very cool place, and there is much work to be done there in terms of mission work. It's a pretty poor place. That's one country that the US doesn't help out a whole hell of a lot. Get over your airplane phobia, bub, and get yer butt over there!

    New House

Pat Green!!! Not many people outside of Texas know him, but he's pretty decent for a country singer... er something. We sit on a hill. When you look north down my street, you can see TMS. It's like a mile and a half, so I wouild imagine when there is a race we will definitely hear it. I-35W (it spilts in Denton - West goes to Fort Worth and East goes to Dallas) is about 3/4 of a mile to a mile away. It's pretty darn quiet out there compared to living right next to Dallas-Fort Worth International. They are building a Cabellas out by us and a bunch of resorty stuff. Then, they are building a 1.3 million square foot mall about 2 miles away, supposed to be all upscale. I think we got in the neighborhood just in time.

    New House

Yea, I won't do that. It sucks. No cable, no DSL. Not for another year anyway. But they do have high speed wireless internet. It's $149 install and all equipment included and it's $59.99 a month with 1.0 kpbs download and 250 mbps upload (which is faster upload speed then DSL). I'm trying to check around to see if people use it and have had problems. It's farily new. The reason they have it where I'm at is somehow or another Texas Motor Speedway had it put out there for their internet service.
  21. Happy Birthday dude. Ask for some html coding lessons for it...

    New House

Yay! We got the keys to our newly built house today. That's a good feeling to have all that crap done. And what's the first thing we did after that? Go open a Home Depot charge card. Now I got a few thousand dollar limit to go spend at Home Depot anytime. So, we started hanging up the blinds, and our satellite TV goes in tomorrow, and the painting begins next weekend. Then, the all important high speed internet ... ... THEY DON'T HAVE DSL! The neighborhood is not built out yet. Anyone ever go with a wireless internet provider? How's the service? So, the next few weekends I won't be around much. Chores, then the move, then the settling...
  23. I like how you keep clicking the "this post has been edited". I just want this to all go away. You're right. It doesn't matter. But, it obviously does. I'm done now with this subject. /OVER
