  1. CHEATER! I thought that was pretty interesting - I was thinking that didn't sound right and I just picked that up from another message board. No debate took place in '68 between Nixon and Humphrey.
  2. I know. But it sure is fun to give you a hard time once in a while.
  3. so is there anything wrong with my orginal observation?
  4. What's going on? This is the third time today I have agreed with I4E. *faints*
  5. ...Jeapordy theme... Wrong Answer, Alex. Oh wait, that was even funnier then I meant for it to be...
  6. ...Arnold Schwarzenegger based his decision to become a Republican after watching Nixon debate Humphrey in 1968? (Let's see if people figure this one out).
  7. Well, my friends in Orlando are watching Hurricane Frances. This storm is 2.5 times bigger then Charley and a slower moving storm. Right now they expect it to hit Melbourne area and track right over Orlando by Sunday. Of course, Orlando experienced 100 mph winds from Charley two weeks ago. They say that this one has the potential to be MUCH more damaging then Charley. Those of you with relatives or friends in Florida, be thinking about them this weekend... and worse, it's a holiday weekend. 400 miles from the center - Tropical Storm winds 175 miles from the center - Hurricane winds 145 mph sustained winds and 165 gusts, with further strengthening expected before landfall. YIKES.
  8. JimH, I agree with your assessments except Uribe. I just don't think he can cut it in a full season. You are right, however, in that if you don't play him out there to work through the down times you won't ever know the true type of player he is. I also assume in your stance that FT will stay for another year as your DH? Would you let Everett go? One of those two has to be your DH - if not both since Everett hits from the left side. Remembering how FT came back from injury in '02 worries me about his start. A slow start by FT is a slow start for the Sox in '05 I'm afraid, and we cannot afford that. Should be an interesting last month of the season from a playing time perspective to see who has what. Joe Borchard has to go as well. I think they are leaning that way anyway from the sounds of it.
  9. I was only kidding actually. I know these guys are going back to school and all that jazz... It's all good.
  10. Seriously, it wasn't even thought of with you in mind, I assure you of that. But now that you mention it... Just kidding, I4E. Just try to not lose your temper so fast!
  11. the rule is, either you have lived here for more then 20 years or you had to be born here. Otherwise you're a fake ass. My wife's family had a dude at the Alamo. So you know she's real Texan.
  12. NOW THAT WILL SOLVE IT. :headshake
  13. Dead on, I4E. Problem is, neither does Kerry. See my sig.
  14. And they would have had no credibility if Kerry wasn't running around talking about what a great soldier he was.
  15. You know why John Kerry had to have those medals in such a short amount of time? He wouldn't have gotten an HONORABLE discharge if it weren't for the awarding of those medals. System problem? Maybe so. And if I were a guy over there knowing that a guy "threw back his medals" - testifying before Congress about what a bunch of assholes are over there - I'd probably be after the guy for 20+ years, too, because he just pissed all over all the men over there at the time - while talking about how "special his time over there" was. Thousands and thousands of men DIED over there. And we have a presidential candidate running around 30 years later saying "look at me, I was there..." while at the same time he testified that the guys serving right there with him were goons. You don't think there is anything wrong with that?
  16. I hear what you're saying, Tex, but for a guy to testify that he committed atrocities - and ripped guys over there for doing one and the same - and then 30 years turn around and run on his service in Vietnam - is just a tad bit assholish to me. Don't run on your military background, run on your record, if you have skeletons in your closet like that. KERRY made it an issue by running on his "military experience" "I'm John Kerry and I'm reporting for Duty." :puke If he were running on his record, none of this would be happening - or at least not in the spotlight it's becoming. Oh, by the way, it's not like the Dems ripped GWB a new rear end over his service in TWO campaigns.

    Virus

Watch out for these new viruses - Neither Symantec nor McAfee have solutions as yet!!! The George Bush Virus - Causes your computer to keep looking for viruses of mass destruction. The Clinton Virus - Gives you a permanent Hard Drive with NO memory. The Al Gore Virus - Causes your computer to just keep counting and re-counting. The John Kerry virus - causes the floppy to flip flop on it's stored memory. The Bob Dole (aka Viagra) Virus - Makes a new hard drive out of an old floppy. The Lewinsky Virus - Sucks all the memory out of your computer and then e-mails everyone about what it did. The Arnold Schwarzenegger Virus - Terminates some files, leaves, but will be back. The Mike Tyson Virus - Quits after two bytes. The Oprah Winfrey Virus - Your 200 GB hard drive shrinks to 100 GB, then slowly expands to re-stabilize around 150 GB. The Ellen Degeneres Virus - Disks can no longer be inserted. The Prozac Virus - Totally screws up your RAM, but your processor doesn't care. The Joey Buttafuoco Virus - Only attacks minor files. The Lorena Bobbitt Virus - Reformats your hard drive into a 3.5 inch floppy... then discards it through Windows.
  20. Isn't it nice to be loved? Where the hell were you back in July when the Sox were in first place (or at least near it...)?
  21. That's just as rediculous as saying anything bad that happens is George Bush's fault and anything good that happens is because George Bush didn't have anything to do with it. It's amazing how it's one or the other around here. The President can't do anything without Congress approving it (major, anyway)... and CONGRESS voted to allow Bush to act in Iraq... INCLUDING ONE SENATOR KERRY. How do you Dems 'splain that one?
