Frances is going to become a cat 5, the local stations are saying, when it crosses the gulf stream. The Orlando area is saying hurricane force winds for 6 hours straight, unlike Charley - that only lasted about 1-2 hours. They are saying Tropical Storm winds for 8-10 hours... sustained! But - there is a slight change that a ridge of high pressure can pull it north before it gets to Miami - that remains to be seen, they say, and they should know more about that this afternoon when the hurricane hunters fly through the storm. That is a big hurricane. Whereever it hits, it's going to be Andrew-esque I think.

That's actually pretty cool - but then again, tax dollars at work, eh?

I think MB is a perfect illustration of your points. They didn't rush him and he is one of the most consistent pitchers around now. I think most of the time with these guys it's between the ears. They need to be taught to think about how the game is supposed to be played, and not how fast can I get to the majors. The better players will be the ones that think better and not on talent alone, most of the time...

Teachers like that piss me off and the best way to get even is the whole class to sit there and ask questions (yo, teach, I don't understand... over and over and over again). Most of the time the teacher can't even explain it. That's when you know you're really in trouble.

And Garland as a "5" WILL win his 14-15 games, because of the matchups he would have (assuming injuries don't smack the starters next year). If that happens, this team will be SOLID next year. Let's see if they go get that #2-#3 starter...

I dunno. One's flamboyant (Edwards) and the other one is arrogant and pompous who is very well versed in what to say and when to say it (Cheney). Cheney is well spoken enough to handle him, but Edwards will score points with his "image appeal".
