  1. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 09:21 PM) But his defense is too good to stick at DH and he is the defensive replacement for everyone in the infield. You can't DH that Well, when he isn't subbing, which will be most nights, he can DH.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 09:02 PM) Can Saladino play right field? I'd love to get him some more at bats. Right field? Why not. Smart, can move, plays hard and I think he'll hit fine for an IF. (which is good enough for OF on this team).
  3. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 08:55 PM) Fulmer could be up in July... I wouldn't mind it if he keeps pitching like this If he can be, I'm sure he will be. But for what purpose, I have no idea. Don't really know why Hahn rushed Rodon last year.
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 08:50 PM) 5 runs in the 5th would be cool. A 10 game winning streak is right around the corner.
  5. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 08:39 PM) Fulmer pitching very well again tonight. The last thing the Sox need to do is to rush him up for this sorry bunch. But Hahn showing signs of desperation.
  6. What's with this bunting down 4 runs. Swing the bat Eaton...you're one of the few guys who can drive the ball in this lineup.
  7. Ventura's IW didn't help either.
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 07:29 AM) See my note in round 1 thread. Hostetler said most of their scouts think he can start. They'll decide next offseason whether to stretch him out Let's hope they do. For #26, it shouldn't be a question. You draft a starter, not relief pitcher that Hahn can rush up.
  9. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 05:58 PM) I just could never understand why they couldn't just slot EJ as the #5 for a full season and just take our lumps with him and see if he can show any improvement. Never had more than 5 starts in any season. It wasn't going to happen. EJ was not a Cooper guy. Note Cooper gave Noesi more opportunity- much more - than EJ. And White Sox pitching is Cooper's world.
  10. For one thing, Renteria bunted in the precise Point in the game where it makes sense to bunt. No evidence to suggest Ventura would've gotten that right. In fact, I don't think Ventura has bunted since his New York City sit-down with Hahn. He may be under no bunt orders, which, was probably necessary overall.
  11. That was a good fight by the Sox. I see Renteria can identify the rare instance when it makes sense to sacrifice bunt. That could portend well.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:42 PM) The organization is awful. Talent level is bad at the big league level and farm system is a disgrace. Hahn has made a ton of moves the last few years, and almost everyone has failed. The truth
  13. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:20 PM) #GabeKaplerForWhiteSoxManager2017 Or GM
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:01 PM) Bourgeois has to be more of a big leaguer than Coats. That should be an easy move. He hasn't hit ML pitching in 700 at bats. But nothing to lose by trying. And if he doesn't work, try DAvidson or someone.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:47 PM) And that's why he needs to go. He can't develop a winner on the field and the farm system is a disaster And if he's worried about his job, then things will only get worse...nothing to lose by cleaning out whatever's left in the farm. Hahn's just been awful in "go for it" mode.
  16. Ventura didn't trade for 2.5 years of James Shields. Shouldn't have traded for either Shark or Shields in the first place. Neither was a fit for the Cell anyway.
  17. Square on the back of Rick Hahn. 10 runs allowed v. Seattle might have been a clue...but then he's got to "get his guy"
  18. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 05:39 PM) We'll be getting the RV firing soon. Front office however is staying the same I'm ashamed to say. I do wish Hahn had full reigns to see what he'd be about. I do think he's hamstrung by KW at times. That may be the case. At one time, I thought it was the case. Now I really don't know. I like what Hahn did his fist year...try to build a foundation (which was exactly 2 when he took over: Q and Sale). In a 6 month time period, he doubled it to 4 (Abreu and Eaton) with Avi and Davidson as possibilities. But then, he, or Williams or both decided to "Go for it" and that was that.
  19. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 11:15 AM) Out of the MLB.com top 200, the White Sox drafted 6 guys: Zack Collins (14), Zach BUrdi (41), Alec Hansen (62), Jameson Fisher (75), Luis Curbelo (104), and Ian Hamilton (187) They also drafted 12 guys from the Baseball America Top 500: Collins (16), Burdi (21), Hansen (37), Fisher (64), Curbelo (99), Hamilton (221), Call (266), Flores (312), Nolan (410), Elliot (478), Lambert (479), and Booker (492). I'm guessing they'll get great overall reviews from Baseball America. Sox had 7 of the first 200 picks and 17 of the first 500 picks. Reliever in the 11th round - agree it's great. Reliever in round 1 - the essence of the problem with this front office. But he's a good player. If they can sign all of these guys, it should be a productive draft.
  20. New front office please....then deal with this dugout staff. Firing Ventura is just rearranging deck chairs on the titanic.
  21. GreenSox replied to MDL27's topic in FutureSox Board
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 12:20 AM) Bourgeois is going to be up for Shuck or Coats soon if they can't start to heat up a little bit. He's had 700+ ML at bats, with an ops below .630.
  22. Do people seriously want to trade MORE young players to add veterans to this team? Especially with Hahn doing the trading and evaluating? Good lord.
  23. Engel takes his walks which could portend well once he's ready. But a premature call up could turn him into MCKay Christianson. It's worth being a little more patient to see if Sox can get a real player. They can find a no-hit centerfielder for basically nothing.
  24. Now this is a good pick. he can hit.
  25. If they are going to pay over-slot somewhere else, fine, but otherwise, don't see the point of a clear reach. no need to use round 3 for org. minor leaguers.
