  1. Totally, totally agree! Great post.
  2. Agreed. I bet Kenny has inquired about every pitcher that even has a slight chance of being dealt...
  3. Jeckle, there were a lot of us who wanted Diaz to get another start. Do you see me making a post to gloat over it and call out a poster? ABoz knows a ton more than you'll ever hope to know about our minor leaguers (and baseball in general), and I would trust his input the best. You're still a moron and by making a post to 'shine in your own light', it proves it even moreso...
  4. Maggs ran today, but still isn't very comfortable. Also, Maggs said that he will need to rehab, so a likely return date should be pushed back to next weekend... :puke
  5. Why is there no reason to think he won't keep it up? For the first time, he's actually staying healthy for a while - IMO he can and will keep it up. We don't need Jones. He doesn't hit for a high enough average, low OBP, and he's a high homer/RBI guy. We already have that. We need to get away from that. We need more table-setters, high OBP/high AVG guys...
  6. Hey - where can I listen to Round 2? I guess ESPN won't be covering round 2, and I want to listen in on it. Where is it on McKeen?
  7. Round 1 OVER! Here is where the Hawks scouts are going to make their money. FOUR SECOND ROUND PICKS. At least, AT LEAST one must be a hit.
  8. Drew would go into the two hole or the five hole. BTW - Drew's and Jones' career OBP and AVG similar? I think not. Drew Career OBP: .381 Jones Career OBP: .341 Drew Career AVG: .283 Jones Career AVG: .267 So no, Drew beats Jones in both. And him being lefty makes it all the sweeter.
  9. I'm not saying Rowand is better than Jones, but this year Rowand has been better than Jones. Argue with the stats if you want to, but.... Jones will strike out 100+ times in a season. Sure, he's a big RBI/Homer guy, but we already have that. We need more and better table-setters. Drew's career OBP is 381, as opposed to Jones' .341. Not to mention he's a lefty bat, not to mention he hits for higher average than Jones.
  10. But I'm saying we don't need another righty-power-bat who strikes out a lot. Drew (knock on wood) hasn't been injured thus far, and if he plays right, his chance of injury will decrease (rather than playing centerfield). I understand the injury risk, but I still like what he'd provide to this team.
  11. But I don't see the point in trading for Jones... Other than GG defense, he wouldn't provide much to this team...
  12. Nice move by the Rangers trading up for Korpikoski. Same goes for NJ, trading up for Zajac. Mesarosz (sp?) is gone, Ottawa takes him. If I'm the Hawks, trade up for Schremp right now. I don't care that he has character issues, that can be changed, they said his talent is amazing...
  13. Oh - and if we're making this deal and getting Jones, why not just make the deal with someone else and keep Aaron Rowand, who's doing a much better job than Jones is doing this season?
  14. Oh yeah - Pick and choose the stats that support your argument, but ignore the ones that disprove it: Namely OBP, Andruw Jones highest OBP was .366. Jones highest average was .303. Jones highest OPS was .907. Drew has surpassed these multiple times in multiple seasons. CWSOX45, I NEVER said that our biggest need was a LH bat. I'm just comparing Drew and Jones, and at the current time in this situation, I'd rather have Drew.
  15. I might just put him in the two spot, or maybe in the five spot, so our lineup would be: 3.) Thomas 4.) Lee 5.) Drew 6.) Konerko 7.) Valentin That is both solid and balanced.
  16. BTW - Andruw Jones is hitting .243, and the highest he's ever hit was .303 in 2000. Besides a good glove in center, I really don't want him. Harris/Rowand can provide a .243 average if they wanted to, and they're doing a lot better than that so far this year.
  17. What do you mean we don't need another lefty bat? Everytime we go against a hard throwing, solid righty we get dominated. Damn - I knew Drew was pretty good, but I didn't know he was as good as his stats show this year: .291 Avg, .414 OBP, 14 HRs, 40 RBIs, All of this in a pitchers park.
  18. You also don't need another right handed power bat. Drew would provide stability to our lineup and really balance it out.
  19. www.mckeen.com? That didn't work for me... Yeah - I dunno about the 2nd round picks, I'd probably trade up, but who knows. Robbie Schremp and Lauri Korpikoski among many notables still on the board. I'd take a chance on Schremp...
  20. I'd rather have a lefty in the lineup to balance it out - thus JD Drew. Like others have said; Kenny is really, really in a tough position right now. A lot of us would understand a trade of Maggs for Drew, Ortiz, Reliever (if it happened), but unfortunately we aren't the majority. The Sox would probably take a HUGE PR hit if Maggs was traded, even if it did improve the team...
  21. LDF - what website did you get that Scouting Report from, just wondering?
  22. LDF, IMO they will trade a couple of their four second-rounders to get into the later-teens or early-20s, right around that area. There, I would like them to take Korpikoski, the Finnish kid, or Zajac.
  23. No, it's more of Wsoxshuf's attitude and bandwagon-y-ness that pisses me and a lot of people off. One minute we are the best, no team can beat us, Ozzie is a god, and we will be World Series Champions. The next minute we suck and will be lucky to not finish last in the AL. That's how I feel, at least...
