  1. OK, then I want to switch from the BRAVES to the MARLINS. I am now the MARLINS.
  2. soxnbears, can I switch my pick of the BRAVES to the ANGELS?
  3. Or just let people pick their teams, first come first serve. THis way is OK, though, I'm happy with the Braves.
  4. Fair? Lol, you got your picks of all the teams, hah. No, Im just kidding, im fine with the Braves. Anyone up for an exhibition? We gotta start within the next 20 minutes, I got other things to do....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. oh come on those teams suck.... BRAVES
  6. You aren't reading correctly. I didn't say I want the Bears to take a WR with the first pick. I said that IF, by chance, ROY or MIKE WILLIAMS fall to the 14th spot (which is highly unlikely, and I'm even a bit iffy on Roy), then you take him. Why? Because both Roy Williams and Mike Williams are potentially beyond any of the receivers we have. Roy and Mike are playmakers, Mike is just a physical force who catches everything that comes his way. I'm sorry, but you do NOT pass on that type of player. I guarantee that if Mike had stayed in college, next year, he's the concensus (sp?) number one pick. Then again, all of this is probably nonsense because, like people have mentioned, they probably won't fall to us. What I'm saying is that, if the situation presents itself, you take Mike/Roy. As to Salaam; he comes from a system where nearly every RB they plug in is successful, i.e. Portis, Anderson, and even Quentin Griffin for his one start. In order for a running game to be that successful, you need to have one hell of an offensive line. The reason Salaam was released was strictly salary based, not because of his play. After the Bailey contract, they had to restructure / release some people.
  7. Get me in this! Hey, SoxnBears, if we get enough people we should have sort of a small season, say, you play each team three times, and then we'll divide it up equally, NL and AL teams or just make up our own leagues, and then two teams from each league make the playoffs, so a total of four teams. LOL, if that makes sense. But I want in this league!
  8. Yeah, we're going to need another starter. Scott Schoenwies is not going to be able to hold his own, and I don't think Cotts is ready yet either. That, or Grilli or Rauch or Diaz is going to have to fill that fourth spot, and Wright behind the fourth starter, that's kind of iffy... Borchard for Washburn, they eat a lot of Wash's salary. Hell, let's give 'em back Schoenwies while we're at it... EDIT: Why the hell did Kenny give this guy 1.3 (is that right) million dollars? It's pitiful, I'd rather pay a guy to go fetch baseballs that money than Schoenweis.... :puke
  9. Hopefully that will be provided by Haynes and Brown for the next couple of years, with our first round pick (Wilfork or Harris, but maybe a WR if Roy or Mike Williams drop there.) providing pressure up the middle.
  10. Calm down, guys, especially you quickman: He ended up striking out seven in five innings of work. I don't like that three spot on the runs side either, but he settled down nicely after those first two innings. Don't get so worked up. It's Spring Training, where the hitters are supposed to do well. Three runs in five innings of work isn't the worst thing in the world.
  11. The O-Line didn't do a terrible job towards the end of the year. I saw a lot of improvement in Gibson that wasn't there at the beginning of the year, as well as several others. Hopefully Salaam will sign with us. We are going to be, for the first time in a while, very deep at our O-Line positions. If Salaam signs, we'll most likely have: Salaam - Tucker - Kruetz - Gandy - Tait. With quality backups of Gibson, Metcalf, Mitchell, Columbo (maybe), Edwards, and Warner. Angelo has done a great job, though I wish he would have made a run at another CB, but who knows, he may have something else in the works. I think RW's days may be numbered if he doesn't take a paycut.
  12. As according to The Score and The Sun Times, sorry, no link. Wow, I haven't seen an offseason like this from the Bears in a long time. It's very good to see! Next year is gonna be awesome!
  13. He also posted a 5.18 ERA that season. But, he is our fifth starter, so I guess that isn't the worst ERA for a 5th starter, but I think we can at least make an attempt at doing better. Danny's problem is he leaves way, way too many pitches right over the heart of the plate. He'll be going strong, and then he'll leave that rolling curve right down the pipe, and boom, it's outta here...
  14. Does anyone else find it pretty pathetic how Scott Schoenwies has just been given the fourth starter spot? He has sucked so far in ST, Danny Wright has been OK. Wright has earned the fourth spot and Grilli/Rauch should get the fifth, end of story. Shoe is a lefty-specialist, nothing more, and I bet we will see Rauch up with the big club by the end of April. I have no confidence in Shoe or Wright.
  15. But it's only a one-year risk. Would we really need to give up both Stewart and Rauch to get Benson, though? Hell, look at what the Cubs got, and all they really gave up was Bobby Hill. I'd do it for Stewart. Benson, when healthy in 2000, was very good. Plus, he wouldn't be relied upon as a number 1, hell not even a top 3 guy. He could be placed in that fourth or fifth spot, a spot where he could thrive without much pressure. I'd like to see KW get another starter; I'd be happy to get Benson and cash, as long as we don't give up too much.
  16. Game over: Rockies win, 7-5. Grilli was impressive runs-wise, but gave up an awful lot of hits and walks.
  17. Gload singles, tying run comes to the plate. 1 Out in the inning. Smith Walks. Runners at first and second, 1 out, 7-5 Rockies, Bottom Ninth, Dransdelt (sp?) to hit.
  18. Holiday with a 2 RBI single in the 9th, 7-5 Rockies with runners at 2nd and 3rd.
  19. Pacheco gives up two runs and we have a tie game, 5 - 5, in the Top of the 8th. Darensburg comes in to relieve.
  20. Olivo hits a single and steals second. Dransfeldt base hit RBI, making the score 5 - 3 White Sox. Going into the Top of the 8th.
  21. Yeah, but at least it's not the pitchers messing up. I think the Sox have 2 or 3 errors, and 2 of the runs might be unearned.
  22. 4-3 Sox, Rockies score two more and have a man on second.
  23. What I like about Gload is that he's very versataille (sp?), meaning he can play OF and FirstBase, he's shown he can go the other way, plus a lefty bat that can hit is always a plus in the lineup. I'd do Konerko for Ishii in a heartbeat. I also really want to see us sign Urbina; open up the wallet, I don't care. For a change, a player actually WANTS to be a White Sox player. Who knows, maybe we can bargain that asking price down. If we did get Urbina, we'd have a solid bullpen.
  24. 4-1 I think, Top 5. Someone correct me if Im wrong. Munoz is now in the game, Grilli is done. Uribe led off the game with a solo shot, Magglio hit a 2-Run Bomb, and Gload hit a homer in the bottom of the 4th. Helton hit a homer off of Grilli in the first.
