Do you guys remember seeing Columbo's injury against the Rams? Damn, that looked terrible, a guy basically fell over and landed on Columbo's heels, and then unluckily Columbo went backwards and the knee/lower body went forward. The Bears just seemed so Cursed in 2002, with all of those injuries. Bears gotta get Tait. Gotta get him! I love seeing this active pursuit from the Bears, though. Grossman rocks! We just gotta get some people to protect his ass! Bring it on, NFC North!

Blackhawks Trade Rights to Ty Jones to Florida
CWSGuy406 replied to C.Rector's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Yeah, that's my fault. Never believe anything from a message boards until you see it official with a link/press release. Scratch the KARPOTSEV trade. I dont mind the Hawks trading all these guys, as none of them were really in the Hawks future plans, though I was hoping Sully would stay and be a leader. Oh well, the Ruutu/Bell/Calder era is here. Anton Babchuk is recalled from Norfolk. The kid with the cannon. -
Damn, I thought the Bears would have had Kearse, that would have been an awesome signing. ***** Jerry Angelo has a 7:30 press conference, just reported by ESPN 1000. Just letting you guys know ******* I really hope they can get Tait, and then go after a CB and a DT. Then, like someone said earlier, you can go for best available at 14, or trade it to New England for their 21st and 32nd picks (I'm pretty sure they have those two.)

Blackhawks Trade Rights to Ty Jones to Florida

Nathan Dempsey to LA for a fourth rounder and future considerations. Alexander Karpotsev to Florida for a sixth and future considerations. Thank God they are getting rid of Krapov, he's terrible; hell, he scored on Thibault this year, honestly. I would have been happy to get a back of pucks for Karpotsev. The Nathan Dempsey trade, he really wasn't part of our future anyways. I guess you can say we got something for him while we can. EDIT: Sorry, DBaho, you reported it first, I didn't see it under the Tye Jones thread. -
Maybe the most disgraceful *franchise*, but I wouldn't say the most disgraceful team. At least the Hawks are losing as a young team, which was expected this year. The kids are playing a ton, and we're seeing developement, especially in Tuomo Ruutu. I'd rather see the Hawks play than overpaid veterans, like the Rangers. Their are plenty of worse *teams* than the Hawks right now.

Right on. What a great story that'd be. The Monstrous Cubs fall to the Astros, all the while that other team, the White Sox have a great season, and win their division and add players along the way. I think we have a 2004 Slogan. White Sox Baseball: Bring it! Lets go, I cant wait for this season to start!
-
His Response: "Big Blurt Sucks! Sammy Sosa is God! He is gladiator!" It's sad but that's what it may actually say. :finger :fyou Moronotti.

Im doing a project on the White Sox, and was wondering if there is a website where I can find and print just pictures of the White Sox, just random pictures, like them playing in the field, throwing a pitch, etc. Any help is really appreciatted. Thanks a lot!

They could have done worse with the two second rounders, but our scouting department blows now with Pully and Tallon at the helm. At least Smith could draft.
-
Alexander Ovekchin would be that guy. No the Hawks wont get him, as they arent as bad as the Penguins, who are 13 or so points behind the Hawks. However, like basketball, there is a lottery draft in the NHL, so it's a possibility to move up from the second or third pick and get the first pick. I hope the Hawks get the first or second, and once Zhamnov is traded, the Hawks will rarely score. The Hawks are at a stage where they are seeing progress with the likes of Ruutu, Bell, Calder, McCarthy, and have some younger guys in the minors who can fill some holes, and the Hawks should have asked for prospects who are either ready or ready next year. This blows, Wirtz blows, and I'll be the first one to dance on his grave.

Sox, how, may I ask, did you make the logo in your sig? Or, with what program did you make it? I see a lot of those and don't know how to make them... Back to topic, the individual rankings seem pretty fair, but I still don't think the Royals can do much considering they have almost no starting pitching.
-
Is there a possibility that Cincy would be able to eat 3 million ( A fourth ) of Griffey's salary every year for the rest of his contract? Has a thing such as that ever been done before, and would there be a good possibility that that situation could happen? It's an honest question because I'm not too familiar with trading contracts.
-
That would be awesome if KW could get this deal done AND PK for Perez. Our starting pitching would be hands-down the best in the central. Buerhle Loaiza Garland Garcia Perez Soriano could also fight for a spot. I would be so happy with Kenny if he could get these two deals done. Hell, I might even consider buying season tickets if he did this. Dream is now over. I sadly forsee our team going into ST as it is now. That makes me very, very sad. :headshake
-
I'd rather have Perez as our fourth starter and a question mark at 1B/DH then having question marks at our fourth and fifth starter spots. No one here can honestly say they're satisfied with Scott Schoenwise (sp?) as our fourth starter. I wouldn't be totally sold on Perez, but he's a much better option then a guy who can't get out righties.

Thats right, Brando, he isn't a clubhouse cancer. The players love Frank. Frank was singled out by Ozzie the day he was hired. Kenny Williams is making Frank out to be a terrible guy. From many accounts, Frank is working his ass off down south. Say what you want about Frank, he puts up numbers. Consistently, might I add. Our lineup would look pretty weak without Frank, the only guy who will take a walk many a time. I'd be one of many to be very pissed off if this organization traded Frank for Perez, who had an awful year last year. That said, I want this trade to go down, just with different people. Konerko for Ishii/Perez. Straight up, and perhaps we eat *part* of Konerko's salary. I'd also like to add that we need to get another starter before ST comes along. I have zero confidence in our 4th and 5th guys, whoever they might be at the current moment.

If LA signs Maddux will Evans rekindle...
CWSGuy406 replied to RudyLawRules's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I agree with that, and I'd be very dissappointed it the trade were Thomas for Perez straight up. If Thomas is the person LA wants, I want at least Perez/Ishii (preferably Ishii) and Mota, maybe even adding in Miller/Jackson. Perez had a 4.50+ ERA last year, pitched less than 190 innings, in a PITCHERS park. Thomas will walk 100 times for us and is great to stick right in the three spot. I feel Thomas is much more valuable than Perez alone, and if Thomas was to be dealt, I'd want another pitcher (or 2) along with Perez/Ishii. I think the "fairest" trade would be Konerko for Perez straight up. Both underachieved last season and either or both could rebound. I'd also like to add that I am very much rooting for LA to land themselves Greg Maddux, so a.) we wouldn't have to hear all of the Cub-o-ganda crap, and b.) it would supply the Dodgers with an excess of starting pitching, something we desperately need. -
Oh, so you think he just went "hmm, lets see, I think I'll make up a trade rumor today involving A-Rod, Manny Ramirez, Nomar, and Magglio! That is a great idea!" He obviously knows someone...
-
Steff, I'd like to say that your call was the only one I really payed attention to. Hell, half of the callers on that little 30 minute segment were Cubs fans "weighing in", and I hate that. People were calling it a "great interview" with Kenny Williams that was done by Mac, Jurko, and Harry. I totally disagree. They should have asked him about why there wasn't a better effort to go after a fourth starter. They should have asked what merritted giving Schoenwise (sp?) a 1.75 million dollar contract. They should have asked him, if he knew, why the payroll was set at such a low number. They did ask him about 2B, and he wouldn't budge on Harris; he feels Harris is gonna be good, like it or not.
-
I like what he says about Mr Zero. I hate seeing/hearing people pissing all over this signing. It's cheap, and could turn out to be good. As for the trade rumor, I don't think so...
-
Well yeah, they lost. But continuing on the thread, it's a good year to be in last, sad to say. Alexander Ovekchin, a Russian, is considered to be one of the next great players, Mario Lemiuex and Gretzky great. I'd be exstatic if the Hawks got the number 1 pick in the lottery. Ruutu is already fun to watch, with Ovekchin there that would be great. And the least I can say is that they're actually committed, finally, to a youth movement. Times like these will pay off for this young team in the next couple of year, I hope.

Trump is negotiating to buy a sports franchise
CWSGuy406 replied to suffering-nomore-sox fan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Can we honestly get an email address to Trump or to someone of Trump? It's dreaming but hey, anything can happen! -
I have a question, to you guys, about Colon. The offer was about 3 Years, 36 Million, correct? So, that would be 12 Million added to the payroll. Now, howcome we didn't replace that 12 Million that would have gone to Colon to get other guys, other impact players? I don't understand why we'd offer Colon 12 mill, him not take it, and then we're over budget? So we would have been 12 + over budget had Colon signed? Can someone help me out here?

Did Baseball 2Nite talk about the AL Central?
CWSGuy406 replied to maggsmaggs's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Not a second on the AL Central, other than in their online poll, KC was first for teams with the best chance of winning the AL Central this year. -
Well, he "informanated" us about the first hearing of the A-Rod/Manny/Maggs deal, a month or two before it happened... You don't even know the guy.... Tisk tisk.

How is our Bullpen a strength? We don't know that Mr. Zero is going to be great, Politte is a question mark, our only two solid relievers are Marte and Wunsch. Wright, Zero, Politte, Jackson, Santiago, and Person are all question marks coming into this year. This is great if it goes down. Washburn puts us over the top for the AL Central's Best Starting Pitching (World's tallest midget, I know), and gives us much needed bullpen help. It gives us a solid leadoff hitter/centerfielder. The only part I dislike is that we lose some of our power in Magglio, but if we aren't going to resign him anyways, we should get as much as possible for him. This isn't the greatest, but this is a rotation that can win us some games: Buerhle Loaiza Garland Washburn Shoen/Diaz And, a bullpen that I can live with!: Wunsch Wright Williamson Weber Politte Marte Mr. Zero Our lineup would look a little less powerful, but: 1.) CF Damon 2.) LF Lee 3.) DH Thomas 4.) 1B Erstad 5.) 3B Crede 6.) SS Valentin 7.) RF Reed/Borchard 8.) 2B Kennedy/Harris 9.) C Olivo That lineup and pitching staff could be real, real competitive.
