  1. Gload homers! He should have two, as he hit a bomb in his last at bat but was foul by a few feet. This kid has really impressed me! Keep it up Ross!
  2. Hmm, If you're selling them at 75 a piece I dont have interest. If you moved the price down I'd also have interest in 2 of them...
  3. I dont have confidence in Danny Wright as our fifth starter. I'd rather see Rauch get a chance to be our fifth starter, Wright's been given every opportunity to succeed in that damn fifth starter spot and hasn't shown anything.
  4. Sweeney looks awfully skinny (not saying you need to be real strong to play MLB, though.) I hope he hits the weights hard in the upcoming years. BTW, Off topic a bit, but I really love Joe Crede's stroke. It seems like he gets the bat-head all the way around, quickly and smoothly, and I think he's gonna be a real nice surprise for us this season.
  5. This is amazing; he's gone from 2 years ago reaching 100 MPH on the gun to barely topping 93. How the hell do you lose 7 MPH? It baffles me...
  6. If Gload can hold his own against Major League pitching: I'd trade Konerko for Perez / Ishii in a heartbeat, preferably Ishii. Ishii would bring another guy who Shingo can hang out with plus another solid arm. I wouldn't mind a rotation of Buerhle / Loaiza / Garland / Ishii / Show - Rauch - Diaz - Grilli. Go Sox!
  7. Does anyone have a picture of Sosa missing that flyball last year in the Cubs-Sox Series at Wrigley? Where he just cowers and holds his head? Thats what I picture Sosa doing everytime a flyball comes to him on a sunny day.
  8. But again, that's what they had to do. They had to frontload the contract because of KC's salary troubles this season. Angelo really couldn't have approached it any other way. Screw baseball season, let's get to football! Just kidding, lol.
  9. Chiefs Decline to Match Bears Offer Congratulations Jerry! This is a pretty sweet signing, and this really improves our O-Line. Kruetz, Tucker, and Tait, along with Gandy and one more. NOt a bad O-Line, especially with the depth behind them.
  10. Is Tait officially a Bear yet? It's 7:09 Chicago time right now.... OK, It's official, I think I'm on the Bears Drafting Mike Williams bandwagon. I think this kid can be an elite wide receiver in a few years, and him and Grossman would just terrorize defenses. Now, I'm not normally for drafting at a position in which you have a lot of strength or depth (Yes, I think Terrell/Booker/Gage/Wade is a position of strength), but this kid is just going to be outstanding. Fitzgerald won't fall to us, but the of the three Williams', which one do you guys think will be the best? Roy, Reggie, or Mike? I don't think Mike will be as good as them in the first year or two, but once he fully develops, he's gonna be a star...
  11. Courtesy of http://www.buccaneers.com/ I don't really think the Bears need to go after him, though he would be a nice addition. I think the money could be better spent elsewhere, and I think Bobby Gray and Mike Brown can be pretty good safeties. Although, I bet Lovie will probably have some interest, he is a hard-hitting safety who can make plays. Thoughts?
  12. Yeah, same here, for anyone who's played it, tell us how it is. I want to buy it, but the fielding sucked last year, and while I like the Hitting engine of being able to place it where you hit, I think it's pretty stupid, because if you don't want to hit into a DP, all you gotta do is aim up.
  13. This would be the perfect year for the Cubs to suck and for us to take advantage of our underdog-ness. That would be great to shove it in the world's/media everyone's face (lol, haven't won one in over 90 years and I'm being picky.) I really hope we kick some ass this year!
  14. Sorry, no linky, I saw it on ESPN News. I think this guy can provide something to our D, he is a playmaker, though he is getting older. However, I do not want to overpay for him. If we can get him on a reasonable 2-3 year deal, I hope he signs. But, I wouldn't be devastated if he went elsewhere. The plus is that he'd take a lot of pressure off of Haynes and Alex Brown, and most importantly Urlacher. Plus I think he'd fit into Lovie's scheme, he's pretty fast for a small fat guy. Thoughts? P.S. I really hope the Chiefs do not match our offer. There are no FAs that are even close to his caliber on the market, and Gallery will not fall to us.
  15. Add to that Politte, who I believe will rebound to his previous 2003 form, and possibly Shingo and Wunsch, and we have a pretty damn good 'pen. Depth is a very good thing to have in the bullpen, especially when we really don't have a fourth or fifth starter right now...
  16. My infield is looking good, Pudge, Delgado, Vidro, Renteria Chavez. Cameron, Baldelli, and Matsui in OF. Mediocre pitching with Oswalt, Beckett, and Lilly leading my staff. I am CWSCygan20. Im looking for another solid outfielder.
  17. Lol, you guys remember him scoring on Thibault earlier this year? Good Riddance, the witch is dead! hah!
  18. What would you guys think if the Bears got DJ Williams? I think he's from Miami. Looks like a pretty good athlete, here's a scouting report on him: Strengths: Tremendous athlete...Great frame...Good speed...Fluid hips...Goes sideline to sideline...Can rush the passer or drop into coverage...Explosive...Still has a lot of upside. Weaknesses: Still learning the position...Has some trouble shedding blocks...Over-pursues at times. Notes: Top prospect coming out of high school...Bounced back and forth between linebacker and fullback early in his college career...All this guy lacks is experience. That's from www.nfldraftcountdown.com He seems like a very athletic kid, if we get our guys in free agency I wouldn't mind the Bears taking him at 14. Then again, I hope they trade the pick to NE for their two first round picks, anyone else agree? But that's if everything goes right in free agency, i.e. Tait doesn't get a contract from the Chiefs and comes here, we get a pretty good D-Lineman, and perhaps some more depth at CB and O-Line. Thoughts?
  19. Meh, Takatsu's run also scored on basically an error, though it was counted as a hit. He worked his way out of trouble which is nice to hear, but he did give up three hits, and a walk.
  20. Yep. Ovekchin (sp?) is gonna be real good, I really hope the Hawks can get that first pick. For those of you who didn't know, like baseball and the NBA, the NHL draft is based on a lottery, so even if the Hawks don't come in last, they have a chance to get that first pick. The flip side is they'd also have a chance of moving down a couple of picks. And, for the person that asked, Evgenii Malkin is that other prospect. He will be taken second as Ovekchin (sp?) goes first.
  21. Bears signed CB Todd McMillan (sp?) to a 1-Year contract, sorry if it was already posted.
  22. Tennessee trades WR Justin McCariens (sp?) to New York Jets for a 2nd Round pick. You gotta be kidding me, T.O. got a second rounder and McCariens gets the same thing? Anyone find that a little odd? Obviously T.O.'s contract is gonna be bigger, but I think the 49ers gots a pretty raw deal...
  23. It's not like this signing will eat up all of our payroll, he's only making a bit over 2 million per year. I'm happy with the signing, and I think Thomas Jones and Anthony Thomas can make a nice 1-2 punch. Sealgep, A-Train can catch the ball out of the backfield. He did it in college and did it well. Shoop never used him to catch it out of the backfield. Give him a chance, I remember hearing the players saying in his first year he was very good at catching it out of the backfield. I really, really like our odds this year, especially if we can get Tait and another CB, and better our O-Line.
  24. Damn, DBaho, on that website, and for everyone else, scroll down and check out the pick of Thomas Jones. He's got some guns there! I think we might have got a diamond in the rough on this one. EDIT: Not at a bad price, either, as a bit over 2 million a year.
  25. What do you guys think of Brock Marion, CB released by Miami? I don't see too many Miami games, so is he a good number two behind Peanut? EDIT: To add to that, it would be awesome to sign Chris McAllister, Ravens CB. I think he's a Top 5 Cornerback, and QB's would have nightmares trying to throw against him in Tillman.
