QUOTE(BearSox @ May 20, 2007 -> 10:48 PM) I am thinking about getting the MiLB.tv subscription. Is it worth it? I was thinking about getting it, but in the end I didn't. I mean, how much are you really going to use it? Most of the minor league games take place when the Sox games are going on, so even if you have the MiLB game on your computer and the Sox game on your TV, how much attention are you really going to spend watching the computer? Also, I don't think the quality is very good. The camera view from CF is (usually) from a lower spot than the CF batting eye in most major league spots. That being said, I don't think it's terribly expensive, and if you believe that you'll actually make use of it, then why not?

Quack! One more, Ducks!

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 20, 2007 -> 09:23 PM) That was the first off speed pitch I had seen from him in 4 outings. If he threw it more, we might have something. But in his 70 some odd innings the last 2 years, he has barely thrown it at all. Oh so you saw him pitch most of his innings with the Cubs last year too? You must've watched a lot of Cubs in September when he was getting a good amount of innings. I don't know how good Aardsma is going to be. His breaking ball is inconsistent and his command of his fastball isn't particularly great, either. He's got decent enough stuff, though, to make it as a decent 3rd-4th reliever.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 20, 2007 -> 09:20 PM) So 53 innings of up and down pitching with no off speed stuff is not relevant? When he's doing the same thing this year? I see.....well ok, whatever you say! No offspeed stuff? What type of pitch did he get Soriano out on? Must have been a fastball I guess -- apparently fastballs come in at 83 and drop. I forgot, I don't agree with you, so I'm (your?) an idiot. Is he inconsistent with his breaking stuff? Sure. That's not what you're saying, though.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 20, 2007 -> 09:16 PM) Did you see him last year? It's actually what he did, very inconsistent stretches good and bad, 1 pitch pitcher. And he pitched a large sample size last year. In 2006 he pitched 53 innings with the Cubs. That's a large sample? Oh, right, now I remember who I'm talking to.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 20, 2007 -> 09:10 PM) with a double A start to his last name What does this have to do with anything? Career norms? What career norms? The 63 innings he pitched in the bigs prior to this year?

You got number one wrong. It's: "Your an idiot."

94 on the gun from Masset. "ARE YOU NOT IMPRESSED?!?!?!"

QUOTE(fathom @ May 20, 2007 -> 01:23 AM) Gio's not doing too well tonight. That Montgomery lineup has two positional prospects better than any in our organization in Bringac (sp?) and Longoria. Kudos to Tampa Bay for doing a great job with all of the top ten picks they've been handed over the years -- Young, Upton, Baldelli, Longoria and Niemann. Am I missing any?

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 20, 2007 -> 01:10 AM) They should go back to throwing as hard as they can then, because this stuff isn't working. Yeah, I agree, Thorton should definitely go back to the way he pitched in Seattle, as that worked so well for him. Ditto Jenks, he should go back to the way he threw while in the Anahiem organization, that got him real far.

How pissed would this board be if the Sox held onto Freddy Garcia and traded him for a Cesar Izturis type player at the trading deadline? What a dumb trade by Hendry.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ May 19, 2007 -> 09:50 PM) Here comes Wuertz.....not a very good match-up for Dye, as all he throws is low and away sliders. Heh, I'm thinking the same thing. I have very little confidence that the Sox will score here. It's basically on Jermaine's shoulders with Konerko batting after him, too.

AJ offers at ball three. f***... Good patience, AJ, swinging at balls three and four.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ May 19, 2007 -> 09:46 PM) f*** you Ozzie....terrible managing. That's one of the dumbest bunt calls I've ever seen. Still three innings left, wind blowing out, Uribe being pretty decent vs lefties... how f***ing stupid. Yeah, let's have AJ bunt here too. Maybe Dye can bunt after AJ.
-
I'd rather not bunt here with AJ up next. How about a hit-and-run?

QUOTE(fathom @ May 19, 2007 -> 09:41 PM) Statistically, Erstad has about a 10 pct chance to get a hit on base here. Fixed.

QUOTE(RME JICO @ May 19, 2007 -> 09:39 PM) Man I wish Javy was more consistent. He hasn't been very sharp today. He was awful in his last start (command wise). On normal days both of the homers he gave up are probably warning track flies.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 19, 2007 -> 09:35 PM) I am one of the few guys who like Nick Masset. I think his two seamer and his curveball can be plus pitches. He just needs to throw more strikes. He doesnt have the tick below Jenks stuff in velocity. I would of rather had Massett in AAA learning how to be a starter than have him doing mop up here. I agree with you. In the bullpen all you really need to throw is two pitches really well to be successful. He throws a four seamer, a two seamer, and a couple of different breaking pitches. I think either he or Sisco should be starting at Charlotte. Boone Logan is fine up here.

I just got owned. Crede!

The wind is blowing out at Wrigley, we're facing a pitcher who is hanging just about every other pitch, and this team can't hit one f***ing homer. Pathetic.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 19, 2007 -> 09:03 PM) Yep, but as much as we would have loved it, you can understand why they didn't. I know they would have had higher attendance if he did go there. Oh yeah, definitely. You're asking for a PR nightmare. Just thinking about it though, he would've made this team SOOO much better. It wouldn't have compromised the future, either, because it only would've been a one year deal. I'd love for the Sox to inquire about Griffey, but only in an Abreu type deal where we're not giving up any of our top prospects. They always love relievers, they can take MacDougal and some of the Sox' second tier pitching prospects.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 19, 2007 -> 08:58 PM) I don't have to be a professional though and deal with players/agents like KW has to. Kenny was perfectly fine for not matching offers like Soriano, Lee, Matthews, Pierre, etc etc. His problem was not taking advantage of the bargains that were out there. I know we talked about this, but how awesome would it have been if the Sox went hard after Bonds?
-
Look at these f***ing pitches. Marquis is hanging EVERYTHING. That should've been in the bleachers. I'll take the single, though.
-
Marquis f***ing blows. I can't wait till that horseshoe falls out of his ass. He still has very little in the way of stuff and his delivery when pitching out of the stretch is inconsistent.
