QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 11:15 PM) I was having a little debate with my roommate tonight about who (any sport -- even pro wrestling) was the toughest athlete to lace up and work their ass off on a field/rink/ring. I didn't want to make it a poll but I'm interested in seeing peoples' answers. I'll start -- and I'll throw out kind of an obscure one. He's a pro wrestler by the gimmick name of Sabu. First off, he came back to wrestle after breaking his neck (botched back body drop landed him on his head). Secondly, during the famous/infamous Born to Be Wired he tore open his bicep which started to bleed badly. He taped it up haphazardly with athletic tape and finished the match for another 5-10 minutes. A third time he broke his jaw during a match. Instead of stopping and rushing the finish, he duct taped his head to keep his jaw shut and continued the match. Most recently, he wrestled with a broken arm, numerous cuts and part of his finger missing. He refuses to miss bookings to reccoperate from injuries. I'd say he's one badass athlete -- yet one of the more obscure. So who else should get added to this illustrious list? dude sounds like a friggin idiot. maybe he was so jacked up on stuff he couldn't feel pain...

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 08:53 PM) It was. According to my sister and my mom's co-worker, the high school near where I work was locked down. No one in, no one out. yeah, my bro works at a grade school and a couple weeks ago there was a break in just up the road from it so they went into a complete lockdown mode too--no one in or out and most everyone in a classroom and accounted for...

QUOTE(Nokona @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 04:36 PM) Zoolander. There was a moment last night, when she was sandwiched between the two Finnish dwarves and the Maori tribesmen, where I thought, "Wow, I could really spend the rest of my life with this woman".

i don't listen to much talk radio and if i do its usually sports radio (wscr or local espn which just carries national broadcasts). used to listen to bob & tom religioulsy but now they're too early for my schedule and besides don't really know if they're considered "talk radio." may occassionally listen to a political themed talk show but most of them annoy me--usually has to be a topic i'm really interested in...

Juuust A Bit Out There Baseball clown Bob Uecker claims stalking by 45-year-old woman JUNE 2--Further proving that just about everyone has a stalker, baseball funnyman Bob Uecker got a restraining order yesterday against an Illinois woman who allegedly has been pursuing the Milwaukee Brewers announcer for years. In a detailed sworn affidavit (a copy of which you'll find below), Uecker, 72, charges that 45-year-old Ann Ladd's behavior has "resulted in repeated and serious invasions of my personal privacy." As described in Uecker's Wisconsin Circuit Court filing, Ladd began seeking autographs from the ex-Major League catcher about six years ago. In subsequent years, Ladd has approached Uecker at ballparks, stayed in the same hotel as the broadcaster, and sent packages to him at his homes. While not alleging that Ladd has ever threatened him, Uecker (who starred in TV's "Mr. Belvedere") contends that her "pattern of harassment has escalated in both frequency and intensity." As evidence, he points to an incident last week in Pittsburgh, when Ladd approached him at a hotel pool and asked if she could wave to him. In letters to Uecker (one of which can be found here), Ladd has sought a few minutes with the announcer to discuss "two projects" that emphasize "humanitarian factors." Ladd has been ordered to stop contacting Uecker and stay 500 feet away from him, his car, and his home. The Prospect Heights, Illinois resident did not return a TSG message left at her residence. Goldmember replied to greasywheels121's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
think heat will win, if i had to choose i'd give slight advantage of wanting dallas to top heat. i'd still be happy if heat won though cause i like dwyane and would love to see shaq best kobe by getting ring without him--not because i like shaq, because i don't, i just really hate kobe... -
