  1. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 03:11 AM) Are you good friends with him? Or you just know who he is? And Silverio went 2-4 with an RBI for Bristols 5-4 win. But he had 2 Errors in the field, giving him 4 already on the season. Not a good sign, but he will learn. I work in the minor leagues, and have known him for years. Since he was in rookie ball, i actually just talked with him for a while last week when he was in Montgomery. Great kid!
  2. My friend just no hit the Barons!!!! I know that sounds bad but friends b4 minor league sox lol
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 25, 2008 -> 04:27 PM) Well, I can already guarantee the Sox are losing tomorrow (not only is it against a rookie, not only is he a lefty, but he's f***ing Kershaw, so forget about it), so hopefully they can win tonight. Disagree, he is hittable. Saw him pitch this year in Montgomery.
  4. QUOTE (TCQ @ Jun 25, 2008 -> 02:30 PM) Good job gettin this thread up i was gonna post somethin that you should make it to keep some mojo. Anyone know much about Stults? Stults was called up from Triple-A when Brad Penny went on the DL, and the 28-year-old left-hander went 2-4 with the Dodgers the last two seasons, splitting time between the bullpen and the rotation. Now, the only question, according to the Sports Xchange, is how long he will stay in the majors. Stults is assured of at least one more start, on Tuesday night against the Chicago White Sox, and probably another one June 29 against the Angels, making him a two-start pitcher in Fantasy week 13. But with Hiroki Kuroda due off the disabled list June 28 and Penny on June 30, that's probably about it. "There have been no indications," Stults said. "I don't know how long it's going to be. But hopefully, I can get in a groove and get in the rotation. But if I can pick up for Penny, even if it's only for a couple of starts, that's OK with me."
  5. Mark is on Fire!!! Lets start a streak!
  6. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Jun 24, 2008 -> 08:22 PM) Also hit into 2 key DP We are not gonna get the HR in LA-thats the reasoning here Whats wrong with a hot hitter up after Swisher & Ramirez? Also last time i looked dye has one of the best batting averages on the team, so hes not JUST a HR hitter. We need the hot bat where it should be, not in the 6 spot.
  7. so there have been zero home runs in LA this year, did not know that
  8. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Jun 24, 2008 -> 07:51 PM) MY Batting order tonight would be: Cabrera AJP Quentin Swisher Ramirez/Uribe Dye Crede Anderson Buehrle Maybe cut down on the double plays? Hottest hitter in the 6 spot?? Ozzie is that you?
  9. Go Sox!! Dodgers cant hit, Keep pitching well Mark!
  10. all people do on this site is complain and talk about how bad we suck. So we had a bad series against the best team in baseball, its not the end of the world We are in first place around the end of June, Who would of guessed that??
  11. Mark has been GREAT the last 3 starts. All three have been 8 innings to, Hes back!!!
  12. I have seen him pitch twice. Remind me a lot of a younger Mark Buehrle.
  13. QUOTE (north side chi sox fan @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 06:09 PM) Walk off walk vs the Cubs! So you hate every sox player? Because i guarantee every player in Sox history has had a bad game.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 06:41 PM) Argue all you want, but come with better material than Blown Saves for a set up man, that's all I am asking! Ive never understood the hatred for Marte by Sox fans. Always negative.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 05:32 PM) Blown saves are the worst possible stat to judge a set up man on. He could come in with the bases loaded and no one out, get a double play ground ball letting a run score, and that is a blown save. This is true. Even though Marte had his ups and downs as a sox. Overall he was very successful with the sox.
  16. QUOTE (Getupstretch39 @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 04:43 PM) Unless Marte was wearing a Sox hat....then 80 of those pitches would be balls- with the other 20 landing somewhere in the outfield seats. Marte had under a 4.00 era every year he was on the sox
  17. Thome would miss 100 consecutive pitches against Marte
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 16, 2008 -> 04:02 PM) Sort of. There actually is a guy at Charlotte right now who would, profile wise, seem to be an ideal fit. A lefty hitting outfielder with a record of high OBP and high power numbers, who can play all three outfield positions. David Cook. The only issue with him is, since he was just promoted to AAA... is he ready? Cook will need a month or so in AAA imo. He wasnt even in AA half a year. He was up the last month of last year, and then so far this year. Like most of you know i work in the Southern League so ive had a chance to meet him. He is a terrific guy, and a 5 tool player. Also has some suprising power numbers. I would think either early next year or september call up.
  19. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 16, 2008 -> 02:46 PM) Between Eldred or Owens, I have to go with Eldred. Strike outs will be bad, but, fact is, he'll still likely outproduce Jerry. That said, I'll throw another name out there... David Cook. Saw David play a couple weeks ago here in Montgomery, WOW~~ looks like the real deal to me
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 02:06 AM) Way to field your position. Are you watching the game?
