Well i wanted to post a postive thread. At the start of the year who would of thought we would be in first. Lets forget about the Twins Series for a second. We sweep them in a 4 game set in Chicago, and they won 3/4 in Minny. So when you look at it, were up 1 in that department. Lets just win 2/3 or sweep KC, then head on home. Were in good shape, were in 1st and have the better team. Lets take this home!

7/31 - White Sox @ Minnesota Twins (7:10pm CSN)

why do we pitch to him -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 04:44 PM) Griffey is hitting .245 with 15 homers. Last year Konerko hit .259 with 31 homers and everyone was saying how much he sucked. Its going to be ugly seeing Griffey's pot belly giggling as he's chasing balls in the gaps. I give him 2 weeks before he's on the DL. As one of the comments in the Tribune stated: 1995 called and said great trade. The only way this is any good is if KW has a corresponding move. Wow... I dont know what else to say. We gave up some s*** heads for a guy who has been great the last month. and its KEN GRIFFEY JR.

QUOTE (Maxwell @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 10:06 PM) I can't seem to find richard's stats on baseball cube. What kind of year was he having and where before he was called up this year? QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 10:09 PM) http://thebaseballcube.com/players/R/Clayton-Richard.shtml He was in Birmingham most of the year untill moving to Charlotte. I saw him pitch twice in Montgomery. He was excellent in both places

QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 06:51 PM) Entourage You bite your tongue!!! QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 07:20 PM) Die. Anyone who says Entourage isn't a guy. Don't get me wrong, I usually hate even slightly campy shows. But it's like trying to hate on the movie 300; if you do so, you better hand over you man-card. Agree

QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 01:51 PM) I think Richard is probably going to look like a guy making just his second start in the bigs.Yeah...hes gonna get rocked tonight. Agree to disagree. Ive seen him pitch a couple times this year in the minors. Hes got great stuff, and great head. He had decent stuff against texas (7 k's) and they are a great hitting team. Im seeing 6 innings 2 or 3 runs. He will keep us in the game.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 06:23 PM) First game is the biggest game of the series. We have our ace going and a win will guarantee the Sox being in first place after the series. Plus, the first game sets the tone for the series. GET 'EM. Please have Juan in tonight, too, even though I like Fields O, Juan is a superior defender. I would also put Anderson in CF, too. I believe even with those two in as bad as they our offensively, a contact pitcher like Mark, we need the great D, especially against a Twins team that feasts on mistakes. Agreed! Twins put the ball in play, bottom line.

Dodgers signed infielder Pablo Ozuna to a one-year contract
letsgoarow replied to rokimar's topic in The Diamond Club
Ken Gurnick from MLB.com writes that the Dodgers signed veteran utility player Pablo Ozuna today. The White Sox designated Ozuna for assignment on July 8 to make room for Paul Konerko when he returned from the DL. He elected to become a free agent after clearing waivers. Ozuna had posted a mediocre line of .281/.313/.328 in 69 plate appearances for the White Sox this year. Luis Maza was designated for assignment to make room for Ozuna, Gurnick writes. Maza was called up as a quick shortstop fix earlier in the year, but had posted an abyssmal .228/.278/.282 line through 79 ABs with the Dodgers. Manager Joe Torre refers to Ozuna as a "safety net" at three positions, and also expects the Dodgers to continue to be active over the next 10 days: "I know Ned [Colletti, general manager] is on the phone, trying to make our club better," Torre said. "Chances are, we'll be active. Having said that, we're trying." -
Sox Option Russell, Call Up Clayton Richard
letsgoarow replied to JDsDirtySox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Ive seen him pitch twice this year. The sox are pretty high on him. He looked great in the southern league. Kind of remind's me of Buehrle a little bit, little more on the fastball though. Obviously doesnt have the stuff Mark does, but he has an excellent move and is quick to the plate. He also works very fast. Hope that helps -
did the sox play and win today?? im to busy reading sox and the city here!
