QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 09:34 PM) If a class of honor roll students wind up failing miserably one year when they have a history of succeeding you have to look at the teacher eventually. That is awesome lol

QUOTE (Cubano @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 08:23 PM) OK, folks. I am new to this forum. I have been reading your comments with great enjoyment, but somehow I had to wait for a long time for my registration to be accepted. Alexei like any other player will make mistakes. It seems that when you are a rookie, your mistakes are seen with magnifying glasses. Alexei is a finish product. He did not play 2B in Cuba except in emergency basis with the Cuban National team as a super utility. He played SS in his rookie season with his hometown team, the Pinar del Rio Green Sox. This is the same team as Jose Contreras, Danys Baez and Pedro Lazo who came in relief to shutdown the Dominican team in the WBC # 1. After his first season with the Green Sox, he moved to CF where he played must of the time. It is understandable that his has some learning to do in 2B and SS especially because in MLB runners try to break double play harder than in Japan and Cuba. We have a more courteous way of playing the game. That does not mean our way is wrong. Alexei can hit for some power and he has speed. The White Sox do not have speed in the lineup and Alexei can provide some. He is a smart player and even though he was tagged out the other day going from second to third, he probably thought the ball had a chance to hit the ground. Remember, he was given the starting job at 2B against the Indians best two pitchers and in very cold temperatures. He did not do to good and Guillen panicked. Guillen should kept sending him out there instead of benching him and bringing him here and then. In the last 7 games, Alexei has been the second best 2B in the majors offensively behind Casilla. Can Alexei come close to his Cuban league average numbers? QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 02:39 PM) Ozzie could do a couple things - fire Walker, and shift the order around. The former is, at this point, probably a good idea. The latter may or may not help, but probably doesn't do a lot. As for the roster, there are actually a few small things that could be done, and that may provide a little spark. Here is what I'd do, now that Uribe is ready to come back... --Send Wise back down to AAA --DFA Ozuna --Bring back Uribe as a backup infielder, righty PH and defensive replacement (Ramirez to start 2 out of every 3 games or so) --Bring up Chris Getz, to get a lefty bat on the bench (and Getz can play basically all the positions Pablo does) --Start playing Anderson as the de facto starter in CF --Put Swisher, Thome and Konerko as a rotation at 1B/DH. Sit Thome against LHP, DH Konerko and 1B for Swisher. Against righties, mix it up, but keep Thome in. --Once one or two of those three bats comes back to life, move Swisher back to CF. --Also, if PK starts having major problems with his hand/wrist, put him on the DL for 30, and call up Eldred, and continue that rotation. So, there are actually some things that could be done that may help out the offense. They are at least worth a shot, IMO. Sounds good to me!

Sounds good to me.... im happy. Would of love a split, but were still in good shape. With our pitching we can win on any given day with or without a good offense. I still think were gonna wake up. Also on a positive note, A-Ram is incredibel
-
Prediction: Fields Comes up, and the lineup goes crazy with Swish sitting for a good week.
-
yeah lets get Bonds....he always hits will with risp. Just cut Thome. Bonds will play for nothing at this point, and would love to play for a contender

I just cried a little reading that... On a positive note i just met a scout at work today from the Sox and he had a world series ring. I almost showed tears of joy this time.

I work for a AA team and the players b**** ALL the time to the press box. It does make a little more sense though because one play can be the diffrence in moving up. Still, it pisses the scorer off a lot. Most of the time though the manager will call us and tell us a player will be calling, but its always after the game.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 20, 2008 -> 07:40 PM) If I would have told you that a Sabathia/Contreras match up would have featured one guy with a 5.5 era, and the other with 3.3, no one would have been surprised until they found out who was sporting each one... That said, I think Sabathia mops the floor with us tonight. He has been out of his mind lately. Unofortunely i agree....but He will prob. have like 13 strikeouts therefore only go about 7 innings lol. We can then have a walk off in the 9th with a 1-0 sox victory. Sound Good! -
I would also move dotel to a C and Bobby to an A or B. Also would move toby to a B. He has played way better than expected.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 16, 2008 -> 04:35 AM) He's hitting over .320 in his last 10 games. How is that possibly terrible? Crede, of all the people in our lineup, is who you are complaining about? Give me a f***ing break people. Game threads are f***ing unbearable. agreed -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 16, 2008 -> 04:33 AM) He also has given away multiple games this year with his glove, and has more errors than home runs. He's be awful since the first two weeks, period, no questions asked. Hopefully he makes up for it here, he's lucky we got out of that tied. disagree -

AJP + Contreras = Many Stolen Bases -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 14, 2008 -> 08:58 PM) But he does get hits. No one else on our team does that. You can't steal first base... I agree. I guess OC is good at staying out of double plays because he is never on.
