Wow. Even though I doubt it'll happen, that'll be a story for the world. I can see it now on sportscenter.." Ryan Sweeney, rips a double into right field scoring two. Can you believe this kid is only 20 years old...?! The Miguel Cabrera of the AL." (he'll be 20 when 05' starts) Unbelieveable..
I'd rather keep a younger, Olivo whose batting is only going to get better and a fantastic arm, than an injury prone Kendall whose bat is really good but his arm is really weak. Plus Olivo and Frank don't have overloaded contracts like the other two.
Hopefully that will boost his confidence more and more. Colon can be intimidating to a young hitter. But Sweeney was very calm at the plate. I think that can be very good for this organization if he becomes a star.
Yea, but he'll never have the eye of the plate like Mantle, and I don't think Borchard can hit homers consistantly from both sides of the plate like Mantle. That's a ridiculous comparison.
He is going to be a real stud for us. I think he can be the Miguel Cabrera for us as far as reaching the majors at a very young age. He has proved that he can handle major league pitching and I'm sure he can perform at an exceeded level as well.
Sweeney is going to be a great major league hitter. Sweeney-Anderson-Reed are a great 1-2-3 lefty combo for many years to come. I can't wait for these guys to shine in the future.
Porzio was just an inning eater for us. I'm glad he's out of our team, and the best of luck to him. But he is old, and is just trying to make a spot on the team.
But the differense is, Loaiza was competing for a starter's spot back then, so he had to pitch well. Shoey has already been guarenteed a starter's spot, so he is just working on some new pitches. He'll be fine.
