So Todd Gurley single handedly sends me to the finals in one of my leagues, and Juju Smith-Schuster might of sent me packing in the other league.. (need Lynch to bomb to move on in that league)

Michael Irwin ripping the Bears coaches for not having Trubisky throw the ball down field.. I love it.

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 15, 2017 -> 09:45 AM) Still think it's going to be hard to make him like the culture when the team is a threat to lose 100 games Crazy that Hahn and company are trying to sell him on the culture. It's like arguing a player wants to be in our clubhouse because of the chemistry alone and not the winning. (thank you Don Cooper).

QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 15, 2017 -> 09:03 AM) Cease is a guy I would hesitate to toss away in a trade. He has dealt with injuries and needs to build up his innings, but his stuff is legitimate mlb quality. He's a player I could see us regretting dealing too soon and could be primed for a breakout with his plus plus fastball and plus power curveball. If he can't handle starting he certainly has the stuff to be a setup man or closer. Dunning is a guy who profiles as a solid #4 starter in the majors who can eat a ton of innings for you. That is still a valuable player. Completely agree.. about both guys. I'm a huge Cease fan especially. Kid may be Rich Harden (certainly has the same delivery), But I'll gladly take that kind of stuff. They can start with Fulmer and work their way down the prospect list.

Machado is a much better 3B even going by metrics or eye test. He is passable at SS, but anyone thinking he'll be GG caliber there is out to lunch.

QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 11:43 PM) 2) Hester probably had another 10-15 returns that were TDs if he beat one more guy or didn't step out of bounds. That's not even counting the penalties (holding, block in the back, etc) that cost him TD's either. His return numbers would look even more insane.

https://mobile.twitter.com/NBCSChicago/stat...7031937/video/1 Well said Kopech, and I hope Rick calls you and tells you personally you aren't going anywhere (at least not like KW and Gio).

2017-2018 NHL discussion thread

Q finally puts the kid DeBrincat in the top 6 and the Toews line gets 6 points. I guess better late then never. -
Mentioned that in the Abreu thread. Hahn and Hostetler were hinting that since this past draft for 2018.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 12, 2017 -> 10:36 AM) 2B & 3B are now open for them. Carlos Sanchez could make some sense for them if they don't feel comfortable going all in on Torres & Andujar next year. Sanchez might be a guy Hahn and company feel may be overvalued for what he brings. Dude is a fantastic locker room presence and obviously the glove is really good.

His speech is gonna be so cringe worthy.. Might have to make a trip to Canton when he gets in. One of my favorite Bears ever.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 12, 2017 -> 08:01 AM) Boston and the White Sox aren't really a match but I wonder if they could be in a 3 way discussion of some kind. Oakland and Boston probably don't do this but this would make sense for Sox. Boston Gets: Jose Abreu Oakland Gets: Jackie Bradley Jr. White Sox Get: OF Austin Beck, LHP Jesus Luzardo, two low level flyers Not a bad suggestion as Hahn and Hostetler hinted at drafting more high school guys after the past draft since most of our top guys are in A+ and over (and you still need to fill out the lower levels/trade chips down the line). Beck was linked to us from people in the know quite a bit too in the draft (and Luzardo via trade). Probably one more top 100 guy in there and I'd consider it.

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Dec 12, 2017 -> 02:21 AM) Someone at work asked me if I would take Rafael Devers for Abreu straight up. I thought it was an interesting question. I would think any White Sox fan would absolutely take the 21 year old, former top 5 BA prospect, left handed hitting upside power hitter who many feel was a bit rushed last year and still more than held his own at the show. (quality over quantity IMO. Doubt Abreu nets any prospect as good as Devers) I doubt Boston does that, but hey.. maybe Dombrowski is feelin the heat by the Red Sox ownership and wants to answer that Stanton deal.. can only dream.

Absolutely love this... on both counts.
-
Carson Wentz might of tore his ACL.
-
Trubisky was outstanding today. Young guys played well also. Like the Sox young guys, this is what you call a good rebuilding win.
-
2 takeaways for Jackson today, on his birthday no less. Great rookie season for him.

QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Dec 9, 2017 -> 07:24 PM) Kinda liking this unexpected Markannen vs porzingis battle Gonna be fun to watch for the next several years. And Kris Dunn has really been good the past few games now. -
Depending on people's views on Rutherford in the future, Fraizer is a good prospect who could be the LF for the next 6+ years. I don't think Yankees are gonna want James Shields as a starting pitcher though (or even Carson Fulmer).
-
Stanton in the AL eh... should be interesting.
-
I still wonder how Abreu will hit when the sox are actually competitive and have pressure (with the lights on). Until then, let him mentor Moncada, Robert (in ST), etc and hope he continues to be steady.
-
That did not look good at all. Didn't move his legs.

Zamboni rides are pretty cool.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Dec 4, 2017 -> 01:37 PM) Exactly what I was thinking. Nestor Cortes looks particularly interesting. Mentioned him in another thread. Saw him strike out Rafael Devers on a pitch he dropped down on. Doesn't have elite stuff, but is crafty as all hell for a kid his age. Would be a very good pick. I wonder if Hahn takes a look at Trey Ball too as a lefty in the bullpen. Dude has struggled with control, but his name was mentioned before in Sox rumors and am betting the Sox like him (they obviously have scouted the Red Sox farm alot). Former #7 overall pick so he's got the talent. Could see him benefiting being in the pen long term anyways.

NFL better suspend Gronkowski for that dirty ass hit he threw at White.
