  1. Can we fire Loggins first and then Fox? Yikes. Oh, and Browns about to join the Lions in the 0-16 category.
  2. QUOTE (Soha @ Dec 30, 2017 -> 03:26 PM) I'm going to guess that Baltimore would view it as more than a rental, with Machado likely resigning with the Red Sox. He absolutely hates Boston though, but money talks. Would be interesting (with him there and him in that clubhouse).
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 30, 2017 -> 12:18 PM) Were people really thinking Meredith would be back? I thought there was talk of his injury being career threatening or ending. That was Zach Miller. Meredith should be fine come training camp.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 29, 2017 -> 10:45 PM) Ideally on the FA market you sign your #2 and #3 receivers. Your first round draft pick should be the best receiver available, and you should consider another receiver in round 3 or 4 with where this roster is. If some of that works out, by 2020 you've fully rebuilt this corps, but it's going to take time and coaching. You don't need THAT many WR's. Sign one of those FA guys, draft a Will Fuller type burner in the draft (preferably later round) and let Meredith (who alot of us, including the Bears, like alot) come back and be a #2 type. I wouldn't be opposed to resigning Wright and have him be your #4 either, depending on what people think of Kevin White ever being healthy.. Bears really need to protect Mitch. Gotta get OL addressed as well as help for Floyd at DE. Probably CB with one of Fuller and/or Prince walking and LB. We need OL, DE, CB with WR of course and then hope Shaheen takes a big step next season.
  5. Markkanen was a beast in this game. Oh... and good lord Russ....
  6. QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Dec 29, 2017 -> 09:54 AM) Jeff Passan @JeffPassan now Source: Wade Davis' deal with the Rockies is for three years and $52M. It's the highest per-year salary ever for a relief pitcher. With a 4th year option. Deal can go up to 66 million. Can't say I blame the guy.
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 28, 2017 -> 11:09 PM) Let's not have another Tatis, Jr. fiasco. Neither Matt Rose or "some other college player" is 17 years old if they were dealt.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 28, 2017 -> 10:12 PM) That Eddie Olczyk guy is pretty all right. Dale Tallon was better if we're going there.
  9. Gotta say it again, Burish is an amazing analyst. Just a natural there. Already the best one by far from the retired Hawks.
  10. At this rate, even Young and Bamba are gonna be pipe dreams.
  11. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 27, 2017 -> 05:48 PM) I'm talking about the shape that team is currently in and the direction it's heading. SF has some bad contracts and no farm. Their fans are in for a long rebuild when it happens. I'll gladly take 3 championships in 7 years and being in the dweller for a while.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 27, 2017 -> 07:49 AM) As long as Jerry keeps Kenny around, Ichiro can always have a spot on the roster here. Seriously. A KW move if I've ever seen one. Would be pretty cool as a fan though and for the players. And he would have "White Sox" team name as part of his HOF plaque forever.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 23, 2017 -> 08:19 PM) Very possible, but his Marlins ownership may ruin that chance quickly Very true. The dude literally had the media, fans, etc by the balls at one point. Thought he would've been the first because of that (even if there were/are more deserving players) plus he was a Yankee. This ownership ordeal might just cost him that though. Still a first ballot through and through though.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 23, 2017 -> 05:50 PM) There are still a few grumpy old men left who refuse to vote anyone in on their first ballot, even Junior was left off 3 ballots. As they start cleaning out the voter roll, we should have a unanimous guy sometime in the near future. I strongly believe it'll be Jeter when he's eligible.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 20, 2017 -> 07:59 AM) Kyle Long was in pretty bad shape when they shut him down. He just had neck surgery And still has 2 more surgeries to go. Reminds me alot of Tommie Harris. Potential hall of fame type player who might/will be ruined by injuries.
  16. QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 18, 2017 -> 09:27 PM) Anyone who can comeback to pitch in the MLB after that injury and surgery is one tough MFer, has my respect and is an ultimate competitor. Still got the picture of it as my avatar to this day from his surgery.
  17. Hopefully they can get the PP fixed. Looked better today, but everytime I have to watch Duncan Keith kill another PP, I die alittle inside. He and Sharp should not be on any PP unit.
  18. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 17, 2017 -> 06:49 PM) So Todd Gurley single handedly sends me to the finals in one of my leagues, and Juju Smith-Schuster might of sent me packing in the other league.. (need Lynch to bomb to move on in that league) WOW! the guy I faced only needed 13 points to beat me with Lynch and he gave him 12. I won by a point. Thank you Dallas and Derek Carr!
  19. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Dec 17, 2017 -> 07:46 PM) But back then, the White Sox shied away from drafting the best talent because JR didn't want to pay for it. Not to mention different draft philosophy and of course there's much more data and such these days. Still doesn't mean they'll make the right picks, but it never hurts to have as many lottery picks as possible.
  20. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 17, 2017 -> 06:32 PM) Gould 6 for 6 including last second one for the win Single handedly helping the Bears draft chances.
  21. So Todd Gurley single handedly sends me to the finals in one of my leagues, and Juju Smith-Schuster might of sent me packing in the other league.. (need Lynch to bomb to move on in that league)
  22. Michael Irwin ripping the Bears coaches for not having Trubisky throw the ball down field.. I love it.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 15, 2017 -> 09:45 AM) Still think it's going to be hard to make him like the culture when the team is a threat to lose 100 games Crazy that Hahn and company are trying to sell him on the culture. It's like arguing a player wants to be in our clubhouse because of the chemistry alone and not the winning. (thank you Don Cooper).
  24. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 15, 2017 -> 09:03 AM) Cease is a guy I would hesitate to toss away in a trade. He has dealt with injuries and needs to build up his innings, but his stuff is legitimate mlb quality. He's a player I could see us regretting dealing too soon and could be primed for a breakout with his plus plus fastball and plus power curveball. If he can't handle starting he certainly has the stuff to be a setup man or closer. Dunning is a guy who profiles as a solid #4 starter in the majors who can eat a ton of innings for you. That is still a valuable player. Completely agree.. about both guys. I'm a huge Cease fan especially. Kid may be Rich Harden (certainly has the same delivery), But I'll gladly take that kind of stuff. They can start with Fulmer and work their way down the prospect list.
