QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 8, 2018 -> 11:09 AM) If he is the guy that did the play calling in the first half against the Titans, he might be good. If he is the guy that did the play calling in the 2nd half, he might be bad. Supposedly, he was the one who called plays first half, but who knows. Don't base your judgement on him on one game though. FYI, Lovie Smith when he was the D coordinator for the Rams, allowed 452 yards in his last game before the Bears hired him. Also Nagy has facial hair (stache). That's good juju for Chicago championship teams right there.

Love it especially considering Andy Reid's coaching tree. Top 3 on my list.

I find it interesting Logan Taylor is our fastest baserunner now after Moncada's graduation.

QUOTE (pablo @ Jan 8, 2018 -> 10:37 AM) Also - is it a little bit concerning that our 2017 2nd rounder is in the top 10? That's like the old days when whoever the Sox drafted automatically made the top 5 prospects. More of a sign that BA likes Sheets or that BA doesn't think our system is as strong as some of us think? Meh, only Adolfo was off the list who some here had pegged as a top 10 prospect. Whether you think he's better than Sheets is up for debate. I wonder if Burdi didn't get injured if he'd be up there too (although he likely would've graduated like Giolito, Lopez, Moncada, Fulmer etc).

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 8, 2018 -> 10:15 AM) Probably in the protocol he should have had to have gone to the locker room, but as someone who has been grazed right above the eye in a basketball league, I had the exact same response. I actually was cut and needed some stitches, but initially I kind of walked away from it thinking I was injured but OK, then staggered, and knelt down. Then I was fine in a few seconds except for the bleeding in my case. Being concussed didn't even come to mind. I'd buy it if he didn't have a visor on (and squint with both eyes, not just the left) And it wasn't like it broke or snapped off either. Unless the dlineman put his hand underneath the facemask, I just don't see it. Could be wrong, but I'd bet Greg's house.

Yea not Burger fans and make very good points about him. They love Dane Dunning though.

Buffalo owns the 21st and 22nd picks in this years draft and they desperately need a QB. Bears are kinda in a limbo considering Rosen, Darnold and maybe Allen are gone by the time the Bears pick.(Mayfield and Jackson left plus whoever shoots up the draft boards in the combine, QB or another position prospect) We need all the talent we can get, but if they're able to swing a deal with Buffalo for both 1st round picks + other picks... I say pull the trigger.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 7, 2018 -> 01:15 PM) These are 2 really bad quarterbacks. Yea I think it's safe to say unless their defense is legendary (ala 2000 Ravens or '85 Bears) neither team is going anywhere.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 5, 2018 -> 07:11 PM) Doncic won't go in the top 4 unless there's some kinda injury. I can guarantee that. Sig bet? You already lost son. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 5, 2018 -> 08:53 AM) Dunn isn't good enough that you don't take someone better. I'm also in that take the BP first, ask questions later ilk myself, but you are really underrating Dunn as a PG. Kid is going to be legit. I just want my 19-20 year old Steph Curry 2.0 on this team. -
2018 better or another chase for the first overall pick?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 5, 2018 -> 08:55 AM) I will bet you that Eloy Jiminez will not let you keep him in the minors. His numbers will be too good. Not too good... #thebesss -

SoxAce replied to Dominikk85's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I expect Kopech up this year and maybe Eloy... although I could see him up next year along with Hansen + others. Unless they're trading Abreu and/or Avi early, and the young guys take a step back or disappoint entirely (or if they bring back Holland and pitch both he and Covey every 5th day) I don't think they'll be THAT bad. -

Doncic is the goods. I actually think he would maximize Markkanen's potential the best. Ayton is and has been my favorite prospect in this draft after MPJ went down. Athough Trae Young is quickly closing that gap. Another guy who makes me moist being paired with the Fin and would probably go top 3-5 right now. Just dunno if he's ideal with Dunn already here and I don't like Dunn at the 2. -
QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 4, 2018 -> 10:54 AM) Saw this on twitter when walking and lost it now. I hate Kaplan, but he tweeted out that the Chiefs were in love with Trubisky pre-draft, especially Nagy. And Nagy has kept in touch with Trubs. That could end up being big. Not just him. Andy Reid and the org loved him coming out. I have Nagy in my top 3, so this pleases me.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 4, 2018 -> 06:14 PM) Alexander was that nasty lefty reliever on KC last year that threw everything below the knees I remember him very well. Remembered talking about him in one of the GTs. Thank god the young guys don't ever have to face him. -
Callis likes Daniel Palka alot (the guy we claimed from the Twins) as an under the radar out of the top 30 list. He likes Sheets the most out of the 5 named earlier.

Large 30 team Fantasy Baseball Dynasty League
SoxAce replied to Polar Bear's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Jan 2, 2018 -> 09:54 PM) Is this a "real life" fantasy league, or a baseball simulation like like OOTP or BMO? I've been really interested in doing the latter again. Miss the OOTP days. Had some good times with a few here (Slav, wite, heads, steve, dbaho, badger, zoom, etc) with that. Have an itch to do it again myself. -
That's abad ass last name he's got.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 2, 2018 -> 11:42 AM) I dont see how McDaniels can ask for control of the 53 man roster after the dumpster fire he left in his wake in Denver. I would give him input, but there would be no way in hell i would cede control. Agreed on the control part, but let's not hold what he did 9 years ago as a 32 year old head coach as the end all. From all accounts, he has really matured now and there's no questioning his pedigree as a tactician.
-
QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 2, 2018 -> 11:28 AM) Doesn't McDaniels want control over the 53? I believe so (which he had in Denver and Belichick has now) so that may hit a snag there since Pace has already said he is the one who will have control in his presser.
-
QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Jan 1, 2018 -> 09:17 PM) Need Floyd to develop and Trubiskey to be a franchise guy, but after Pace's lackluster 2015 draft class where he really only got one good player, he has landed some players to build around. That said he has made his share of gaffs as well....he needs a killer draft and off-season, starting with nailing down a great coach. He didn't have alot of his guys (scouts, personnel, etc) yet. Bears hired him so late in the draft process. I don't put the '15 draft on him as much as others do.

Won in both my leagues!! Amazing finish. One of the leagues I knew I'd do well (duh, Todd Gurley) but in my other league I lost David Johnson, Dalvin Cook, Greg Olsen (most of the year), Zeke Elliott was suspended at a crucial time, etc. and I still somehow pulled it out.

Dunn played well, Lauri was decent and the Bulls lose. Can't ask for a better game and result than that.
