2018 MiLB White Sox news and notes
I wonder if the Sox will take a look at Carson Sands who got released a couple of days ago by the Cubs. You can pretty much say he can be an add on/throw in from the Q trade if he figures it out. Just turned 23 and was suppose to be one of the top H.S. pitchers in that 2014 draft where Cubs "reached" on Schwarber to pay the H.S. kids selected in Sands, Steele and of course the cream of the crop, Dylan Cease.

How the Sox are trying to perfect tanking
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 09:52 PM) The bullpen has one keeper, Jones, who will likely be traded; and perhaps Bummer. The rest are stiffs. 7 needed. Luis Avilan is pretty good. Don't let one bad outing fool you. But, he's probably trade bait too like Jones, so... far from a stiff though.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 09:35 PM) Wow that's a horrible called third. Did Davidson bang the ump's wife? 3 questionable strikeouts on him.

Heh.. Avi did that alot last year. They called that an error? what a joke.

Bulls won again. As Rick Hahn once said, this franchise is "mired in mediocrity."

In even worse news, Bulls won again.

I applaud the effort Delmonico... you weren't close at all, but I applaud the effort.

I wonder if chitownsportsfan thinks Engel should've got that too.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 08:48 PM) catch probability 41% on that engel drop so no, it really wasn't an extraordinary play. It wasn't routine. It was a play, as I said, that an "elite fielding", light hitting starting MLB CF needs to make more often than not. And credit Engel, he knows it, you could see it on his face. You still on that? You said an MLB CF needs to make. Me, CWS and another guy said no (in fact that percentage actually proves our point that most CFs don't even get to that ball). You're wrong, it's not a big deal.

That might be the longest homer I've ever seen Yolmer hit.

Clippard was a hell of a tank commander for the Sox. Got no grips towards him.

If Moncada runs the previous AB, he scores. Now we gotta hope Davidson doesn't ground into DP.. (or Jose and his new found speed steals second;))

That'll raise Jose's BABIP.

That wasn't close Boston. He was out.

Moncada raising that OBP. Now let's raise that SB total.

QUOTE (Replacement Level Poster @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 08:05 PM) The Athletic has a piece on Fulmer today. He’s going back to his Vanderbilt stuff power curve etc. God I hope so. And I hope he still has it.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 08:01 PM) Yes, even if some sort of miracle occurs and he is pretty average, it isn’t like he is going to bring back a very interesting prospect on a flip. Hell, I was happy Hahn was able to pull off a trade for Ti'Quan Forbes for him.

Ok Ricky, Moncada can do that too when he gets on. Wanna see this team stealing more.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 08:00 PM) If Anderson keeps this crazy HR pace up he’ll have a shot at a 30/30 season. No doubt. I said 20/20 because I don't wanna put crazy expectations yet.

QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 07:48 PM) If MiGo, Shields and Danny Farquhar are involved, and “the core” is still producing positive results, we should all be happy. Bingo.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 07:45 PM) Looks good to me. Screwed by the ump there Arguably should've walked twice. At least he looks miles better than last year.

QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 07:38 PM) Not sure where you stand with Fulmer, but he's gotta prove to me that he can start. I am not a believer. Sometimes he can barely get out of the first inning. Not even sure if he can be a reliever sometimes. That's exactly where I stand. Said it two years ago I felt Sox crippled his development rushing him (also not a fan of them slowing down his delivery. Had a Lincecum like start). I don't believe he's even a reliever with his control. I hope he proves me wrong and then some.
