  1. I see Foster and Dedelow got demoted.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 24, 2017 -> 07:47 PM) Heck of a game for Burger Please call out more spects.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 24, 2017 -> 08:01 AM) Good luck with your next team dude. Langford better be gone long before Carey.
  4. http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/pitcher-s...2017-mlb-debut/ Excellent piece from Nick Pollack on Giolito's mechanics.
  5. Nice night (and year) for one of the best names in the minors.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 23, 2017 -> 09:57 PM) Moncada, Avi, and Anderson with big late hits. That's how you want to win while rebuilding. Bingo. Noone should mind a win like this with the kids contributing to it. Good stuff from Moncada and Anderson.
  7. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Aug 23, 2017 -> 03:27 PM) The eye test tells me he is quite good. I am shocked the defensive metrics don't agree. It's steadily climbing up. Just last week, it was a bit worse. Hell, his DRS is now -1 which was -4 a couple of weeks ago.
  8. QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 22, 2017 -> 10:14 PM) I have really no issues with his outing. Like many...I'd like to see a better command of his breaking ball...it's a plus pitch if he gets it in the zone. But overall...can't really complain. I would like to see Smith catch him his next outing...I'd think they'd have little bit better familiarity with each other. Narvaez is just too "bouncy" back there for my tastes... I was shocked Smith didn't catch him considering he's the most familiar with him in AAA. Still, I was very encouraged with Giolito's outing. Luckily I caught the game on my phone from work.
  9. Delmonico incredibly has been robbed of a few hits in his career.
  10. Buxton definitely looks good against AAA pitching.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 21, 2017 -> 09:23 PM) If he wasn't a high pick, he would probably be searching for another organization sooner rather than later Do you still like him as a closer?
  12. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Aug 21, 2017 -> 09:28 PM) His regular velocity is 90-93 That is completely false. Along with this game and the times I've seen him with the Knights, he was definitely 94-96. Obviously with the control issues, it won't matter anyways.
  13. Flavum, you might as well update the standings. Can't see the sox pulling this one out. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 21, 2017 -> 09:26 PM) Not overly optimistic I mean, that isn't your M.O. anyways.
  14. It's still too late to swap Fulmer and Glasnow straight up huh? (mentioned that months ago before the season ) I still believe in Fulmer but he needs alot of work. Fastball is still hitting 95-96. Everything else isn't as strong and that includes his control.
  15. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Aug 21, 2017 -> 09:04 PM) Agreed but he wasn't an option for them. Which was fathom's point earlier about the extra wins that year which affected the draft. He went one pick above us.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 21, 2017 -> 09:01 PM) Mechanics are way different than at Vandy And they completely crippled his development when they were trying to win now. We got a bit lucky with Rodon (although it took him a couple of years to really figure it out). I am still stunned they started him in AAA this year.
  17. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Aug 21, 2017 -> 08:59 PM) Ian Happ would look good in our system/in our lineup right now. Benintendi would look even better (which is who the Sox wanted initially).
  18. I like the Hayes discussion about Collins. Next year will be huge for him with an adjusted swing.
  19. QUOTE (harkness @ Aug 21, 2017 -> 08:50 PM) an unfortunate example of how prospects are just prospects.... and draft picks.. well yeah... Can't do a thing when you've been rushed. Seen some interesting prospects bust out because of that unfortunately.
  20. Yea.. you can't be making errors with a rookie on the mound.
  21. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Aug 21, 2017 -> 08:47 PM) Carson Fulmer, we've got a ticket for you to Birmingham on Tuesday morning. He should of started there or in High A this year if Sox wanted to keep him as a starter.
  22. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 21, 2017 -> 08:40 PM) I'd let him convert to a reliever before giving him that label Completely agree. His stuff to me plays up there. He is missing with his pitches though which is what has been his issue since he was rushed up last year. Who knows how much that hurt his development in the long run (which I've been on record here saying Sox crippled that).
