  1. Might as well get this out of the way now...
  2. QUOTE (hi8is @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 10:00 AM) So that finally happened huh? I’ve been curious how he’d take this for ages. Seems like it could really be something for him personally that takes him for a loop. From all accounts he was crazy about her. Fell right in line with his 2 bad ST starts afterwards. Gonna be interesting to see how his mindset is at the beginning of the year throughout.
  3. QUOTE (Dunt @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 09:13 AM) Luis Robert is in AA by August, Cease has a big jump into top 100 prospect lists, Zack Collins clears 25 bombs and a .370 OBP. He was already in the top 100. Said it in another thread, but he'll be top 10 overall by season's end. My bold prediction there. I'll also say Kopech starts off pretty slow cause of his recent breakup with his now ex reality star girlfriend and Soxtalk freaks out for a couple of months. Oh.. and Basabe puts himself right back on the map in our system.
  4. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 07:36 AM) Counting on Moncada improving a lot this year. He better go 4-4 with HR, 2 RBI, 2B today or I'm calling him a bust.
  5. I don't think I've seen a team literally throw a game like the Mavs just did tonight. They played 5 players in the 4th quarter who were undrafted, 4 of them were in the G league majority of the season because they were "playing too good". Silver better not say anything about the Bulls (or any of the other teams) after that one. Yikes.
  6. Willing to bet they're working on something with Dunning. I wouldn't get worked up with him starting there. I doubt he'll be there long anyways.
  7. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Mar 28, 2018 -> 04:40 PM) MLB Pipeline @MLBPipeline Matthew Liberatore lived up to the hype on the big stage of the #NHSI18: 7 IP 2 R 1 H 1 BB 1 HBP 10 K 101 pitches 63 strikes This was without his best stuff or his best velocity for those that didn't watch. His pitchability was on full display here. Ugh... figures I was all in on him on the fan bandwagon for quite a while and now he's getting 1-1 hype.
  8. Surprised Sox didn't send Guerrero to AAA since he improved alot of his peripherals from his previous year. I like Getz and company aren't rushing anybody though.
  9. My favorite pitching prospect in our org (leading the fan club there). I'm stoked to follow up on him.
  10. I'm assuming this is just for the big league players? If so... Surprise - Davidson/Anderson (Cease is going to absolutely turn heads all year, top 10 prospect in all of the minors, but that's an easy answer for me. Ima go with Ian Clarkin. I like the kid and believe he'll finally be healthy most of the year) Disappointment - Fulmer... not a doubt in my mind unfortunately. God I hope he proves me wrong. (Robert in the minors only because I don't think he'll stay healthy even when he comes back) Darkhorse - Davidson/Anderson (Cordell if we're talking about all minors. Basabe or Gonzalez if we're talking about actual prospects) I put Anderson and Davidson for either because they both can technically be counted as a surprise or darkhorse IMO, depending on what you see in them.
  11. My precious.... don't leave me like that again my precious... Thanks for everything Jason and all involved for what you guys do.
  12. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Mar 1, 2018 -> 09:50 AM) Carlos Collazo @CarlosACollazo Heard Matthew Liberatore was up to 96 mph last night but settled into an above-average FB. Good control, plus changeup. Some teams likely leave that start seeing three future plus pitches between FB, CB, CH. #mlbdraft That's bae.
  13. QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Feb 28, 2018 -> 11:17 PM) I didn't want to read too much into it because he might just be throwing a little harder knowing he only has two innings that day. Let's hope as a poster pointed out a couple of months ago that his muscle memory is back with his delivery and now we'll see him throw it like he was just a couple of years ago. Funny thing is, there's an article now about it. Giolito showcases increased velocity in debut.
  14. QUOTE (Lillian @ Mar 1, 2018 -> 04:50 AM) I'm sorry, but I don't get the joke. What is the association between being obsessed with left handed hitters and being a female? I'm not offended, just confused. There is no association. Two different clicks. People here know you as the poster who loves lefties (regardless of gender).
  15. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Feb 28, 2018 -> 07:12 PM) Eric Longenhagen @longenhagen 26m26 minutes ago Matthew Liberatore was up to 97 with a 6 curveball today. It was his first start. Kiley McDaniel @kileymcd More Kiley McDaniel Retweeted Eric Longenhagen Arizona prep lefty making a move into the top 5 picks He's my pick in this draft as you know Dirty. 0 injury history either and a nice mix of pitches, plus a lefty and high schooler which is what we need for the farm in the second wave. My guy.
  16. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Feb 28, 2018 -> 07:26 PM) LMAO. Lillian is a lady. In all fairness to Greg, alot of posters didn't know that at first. Hell, some still don't (other than the obsessive-ness of lefty hitters..).
  17. QUOTE (cjgalloway @ Feb 28, 2018 -> 05:08 PM) I Love Cease. I've been saying for the past year (yes before he was even with us) that he is going to make a Kopech like jump in prospect rankings. Hope I'm right! Get in line. I've been said he's my favorite pitching prospect in the org right now.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 27, 2018 -> 10:15 PM) Also interesting to see Beer with a mediocre average again. It's still very early, but his hit tool just seems to be very blah Let's hope he continues to drop. Would love to see us snag him with our second round pick (though that's probably slim)
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ Feb 27, 2018 -> 11:46 AM) He’s already talked about focusing on his nutrition. Hopefully this all turns out fine. Maybe winter ball, and then 130 games at Birmingham next year. This may not be the end of the world for him or the Sox at all. He's going to really have to rake in winter ball to have him skip high A. I really hope that's the case, but any prospect losing a year of development is never good (not the end of the world of course, but it's better when your younger).
  20. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Feb 27, 2018 -> 09:21 AM) Teddy Cahill @tedcahill Updating Travis Swaggerty's line through eight games: .321/.537/.714, three homers, 11 walks, five strikeouts. That's a 1.251 OPS Carlos Collazo @CarlosACollazo Swaggerty's draft stock: ??? Ok Dirty, ok... I've got an eye on him now.
  21. For those wondering to not even bother clicking on a Bleacher Report link (even I was 50/50 on it before I gave in), Kyle Schwarber was #1 on the list.
  22. Grizzlies play the Suns this week. So that helps.. (positive Suns will win that one though. Grizzlies truly are terrible)
  23. Pretty powerful article about sox prospect Mikey Duarte who lost his sister in that Vegas shooting. No idea he nearly died himself in our affiliate (athletic rarely opens articles to the public, so this is a special occurrence here for all to read) https://theathletic.com/254267/2018/02/26/w...vegas-shooting/
