  1. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 7, 2014 -> 10:53 AM) http://mlb.si.com/2014/05/07/mike-trout-jo...d-cover-may-12/ The kiss of death.
  2. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 11, 2014 -> 07:35 PM) I bet Mel Kiper has done better than some GM's. It's tough to predict some of these guys. Some players are never good because of injuries or off the field issues. Dracula knows his s***. But like any scout, GM, etc. he's wrong more often than he is right about prospects.
  3. Great win. Toews with his 10th GWG in his playoff career with the Hawks. Most in franchise history, just turned 26 years old.
  4. QUOTE (DirtySox @ May 10, 2014 -> 09:23 AM) keithlaw ‏@keithlaw 33m Speaking of pitcher health, multiple sources telling me today UNLV pitcher Erick Fedde will need TJ surgery too Good god, it's like the Death Row year for pitchers in terms of surgeries. (big leagues and prospects) Gotta feel for the kid. I guess Eminor3rd will be happy hearing this news.
  5. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 9, 2014 -> 06:32 PM) ^ This reinforces the idea to me that it'd be insane for the White Sox to pass on one of the big three arms. Agreed. In a way, I hope for Kolek, just for the fact of his upside and having a top RHP to pair with Sale (and to a lesser extent Quintana) for the foreseeable future gets me giddy.
  6. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ May 7, 2014 -> 08:50 PM) Jordan Guerrero continues doing good things: 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K 11 K/1 BB in 8.2 IP on the year. Pretty high on this kid. (lefties with good change-ups are always nice), although I must admit I didn't think he would be this solid just yet. (had him pegged next year as a sleeper.. props to Jon on calling that out this year) Good character, great changeup and Hispanic. He's winning in my book.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 6, 2014 -> 08:30 AM) I want him to succeed if only so i can hear broadcasters say his name Hell, imagine if we draft Rodon. It's bad enough posters here call Rodon "Rondon" almost annually.
  8. QUOTE (oneofthemikes @ May 6, 2014 -> 07:54 AM) I would say it depends on Hoffman's remaining starts. They obviously liked Hoffman a lot before the injury so if he comes back and is healthy and dominant I wouldn't be stunned if they take him. I still think he's the guy. Plus I still remember bucket's post about Laumann being in love with him for a while now.
  9. Don't care what anyone says about the lack of luster between these two teams, it is always fun to rag my cubs fan coworkers about us stompin' dat ass.
  10. Heh.. Isaiah Rider and Harold Miner. Those names are blast from the past. Speaking of overhyped kids from the past, I wonder what my boy Darius Miles is up to these days.
  11. QUOTE (johndyce @ Apr 29, 2014 -> 10:35 AM) Tool? That guy was living as large as living large can get! Big hawks jersey, wife next to him (and not pissed about the yelling), slamming beers, sitting front row behind home plate. We could only hope to live that large some day. Haha, you know that man was large when johndyce has to come out of retirement to post.
  12. Toews, Getzlaf, Brown finalists for Messier Leadership Award http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=717060&...vid=DL|NHL|home
  13. These young guys are fun to watch. (trying not to think about Avi anymore) Hope Hahn continues to add to that young talent. I'll also say I never realized how much movement Putnam has on his pitches.
  14. Semien second on the team in BBs. And I love Adam Eaton. Maybe not as much as Steve, but the love is there.
  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 24, 2014 -> 08:46 AM) What are you keying on with him? What do you know about him? I know basically nothing so I'd love to hear more. He was pretty touted in high school in Cali. I believe he made varsity as a freshman. (good pitcher and hitter) He was the captain of the team as a senior which speaks volume about his character. Athletic kid (white sox M.O., 2 sports) Add to that, he's hispanic, so two thumbs up there. Probably would have been a higher pick if he went to college. He is definitely known for his good changeup. Jon has actually seen him, so I'm sure he can give background on his stuff. I've only seen reports about his velocity fluctuating from high 80s to low 90s. (might be a guess why sox have him in the bullpen now...)
  16. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Apr 23, 2014 -> 08:13 PM) Jordan Guerrero making season debut with Kannapolis, for fans of his. IP, BB, SO Kid is no doubt very raw (and skinny as hell), but his upside is noticeable. I know Jon and myself like him alot. (although me personally I think he'll be on our top prospects list by next year) He'll have his down games, but I think he will get more noticed later down the line.
  17. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Apr 22, 2014 -> 08:52 PM) Just a few quick...Engel, Michalczewski, Rondon, Ayala, Guerrero Now there is a hell of a dark horse pick. I like his upside in a sense, but my god is he freaking raw. I'm on the bandwagon though.. I just think he will shine next season, however.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 22, 2014 -> 11:42 AM) Hmmm. I remember him being noted for his motor. He had great speed too for a hybrid. But you are correct about what the scouts liked the most about him. I know that's what Emery loved about him as well as his motor.
  19. Spurs Popovich wins NBA COY. Thibodeau was 3rd.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 22, 2014 -> 11:16 AM) Yeah, I totally buy the 4.5 40 time. I'm not sure there is anything more worthless than self-reported 40 times or a 40 time reported by a player's trainer. Agreed, but considering he was a 4.6-4.7 when he was drafted (at a heavier weight) it isn't THAT farfetched. Dude was always noted for his speed. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 22, 2014 -> 11:39 AM) Look at his before and after pictures, no wonder the guy gets out muscled at the line. He's lifting heavier now at a lighter weight. That alone should tell you something.
