NBA Offseason Thread
QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ May 29, 2010 -> 12:13 AM) I really think Wade doesn't want to come to Chicago and he wants to stay in Miami but realizes that Chicago is an extremely attractive destination for any of the top FAs so he's trying to make them look bad. Pretty much. He actually made alot of enemies in his own hometown with those statements. Only thing he might do to make it right is become a Bull himself which many don't see happening now. Wade tipped his hand, so as far as I'm (and I'm sure alot of people) he still will be a Heat player recruiting people. Plus I never took New York seriously as a place for him, no matter how much he and the Knicks brass. (and Wade himself) tries to "sell" it. (I'll believe it when he signs on their dotted line)

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 28, 2010 -> 10:51 PM) Yet how many people were selling him down the river? Reminds me of Peavy this year actually.

BECKHAM IS BACK
He teased us just a few days ago when he went 2-4 against Cleveland then went 0-7 2 K's the next couple of games. Like the above posters said, give him a few games (maybe when his average is up 30+ points, or a 7-10+ game hitting streak) then I'll be sold. I don't jump on Beckham like alot of posters do here since he gives the sox a very good BB rate on this team.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 28, 2010 -> 09:30 PM) Not really what I was getting at. Rather than brilliant strategy it turns out that he was forced into those moves and I was unaware of this fact when I so richly praised him during and after the game. If Jenks had been available he likely would have pitched the 9th which would have been a tremendous disappointment. Ditto. I will as well.

Sox vs. Rays @ 6:10 Garcia (3-3 5.68) vs. Price (7-1 2.41)
QUOTE (beckham15 @ May 28, 2010 -> 07:49 PM) HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA our closer was in the game....if randy williams could actually pitch decent or the team have another lefty that can get hitters out then there is no reason thornton isnt your closer.... Said it numerous times.. that was my biggest beef with KW the whole off-season. Not finding that solid lefty to pair with Thornton in the pen.

Sox vs. Rays @ 6:10 Garcia (3-3 5.68) vs. Price (7-1 2.41)
Thornton... stud. Big win for the sox as I keep saying getting swept or losing 3/4 won't be good for our chances. We got one... now let's get at least one more game against the best team in baseball.

Sox vs. Rays @ 6:10 Garcia (3-3 5.68) vs. Price (7-1 2.41)
Even with a runner on base... there is just a calm feeling I get with Thornton ya know.

Sox vs. Rays @ 6:10 Garcia (3-3 5.68) vs. Price (7-1 2.41)
Haha.. He Gawn!

Sox vs. Rays @ 6:10 Garcia (3-3 5.68) vs. Price (7-1 2.41)
QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ May 28, 2010 -> 08:38 PM) I also like Alexei hitting 2nd. Don't know why to be honest, but I have always thought that is where he can do the best. Ya he was good last year at that spot. .281/.343/.422/.765

Sox vs. Rays @ 6:10 Garcia (3-3 5.68) vs. Price (7-1 2.41)
God damn stud Longoria.

Sox vs. Rays @ 6:10 Garcia (3-3 5.68) vs. Price (7-1 2.41)
Juan with 2 BBs in this game. He's trying to equal his BB/SO rate once again. BTW.. I love Alexei in the 2 hole. He is more patient oddly enough up there.

Sox vs. Rays @ 6:10 Garcia (3-3 5.68) vs. Price (7-1 2.41)
Beckham! Hawk called it for once. Beckham does work the count for all the crap he gets. Yes he is struggling, but it is usually on 2-2, 3-2 counts. Explains his high BB rate. All we need now is the doubles machine Beckham to get going. But... baby steps....

Sox vs. Rays @ 6:10 Garcia (3-3 5.68) vs. Price (7-1 2.41)
I could have sworn Vizquel was brought in here for his bunting. I don't think Ozzie or Cora know that Vizquel is basically done as a hitter. I like the no bunt though... just not for Omar.

5/28 Games
QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ May 28, 2010 -> 06:04 PM) Escobar 3-3 with a 2B so far. Dan is gonna jizz when he sees this. EDIT: He just K'd so 3-4.

Sox vs. Rays @ 6:10 Garcia (3-3 5.68) vs. Price (7-1 2.41)
Wonder if the sox win this one, if people would be calling for the Cora 1-0 winning season era. Wow.. Bobby Jenks seriously... take some f***ing notes from Thornton!
-
Sox vs. Rays @ 6:10 Garcia (3-3 5.68) vs. Price (7-1 2.41)
I honestly believe Santos would have gotten Crawford out too. We'll never know, but that is how good hes been pitching.
-
Sox vs. Rays @ 6:10 Garcia (3-3 5.68) vs. Price (7-1 2.41)
Wow did Castro short arm that or what? Must have thought that was gonna hit Bartlett.

Sox vs. Rays @ 6:10 Garcia (3-3 5.68) vs. Price (7-1 2.41)
Rios... amazing. And f*** me for deciding on Konerko over him for the PTC. That is the plan.. just have a runner on 1ST BASE for Alex to drive them in...

Sox vs. Rays @ 6:10 Garcia (3-3 5.68) vs. Price (7-1 2.41)
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 28, 2010 -> 06:41 PM) I believe Kenny said 60 games... Well that will basically be end of May/early June. (which I meant to type early June actually) Hell at this rate, I would rather see Brent Lillibridge provide me some entertainment up there than this boring team. It's sad that I've been flipping back and forth from this game to the girl's softball game on ESPN right now.

5/28 Games
Charlotte (Zaleski) Birmingham (Hynick) Winston-Salem (My boy N.Jones) Kanny PPD I rip Brandon Short yesterday for going 0-8 6 K's in the last couple games and he goes yard in tonight's game.

Sox vs. Rays @ 6:10 Garcia (3-3 5.68) vs. Price (7-1 2.41)
QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2010 -> 06:36 PM) We have a team full of awful hitters, but no one has worse at bats than Castro. I'm not a sample size person, but I believe the sox brass really s*** the boat on not just promoting the defensive Lucy who I'm confident can hit Castro's line last year minus power, but more speed.

Sox vs. Rays @ 6:10 Garcia (3-3 5.68) vs. Price (7-1 2.41)
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 28, 2010 -> 06:29 PM) White Sox records through first 50 games in the last 5 years, I realize this is nothing but numbers but no matter what happens the next three days this is the worst start by the White Sox under Ozzie Guillen. 2005: 33-17 2006: 33-17 2007: 25-25 2008: 27-23 2009: 25-25 2010: ? Well we are 20-27 right now, so obviously when the sox hit the 50 games plateau, we will have a losing record for the first time in a long time. I believe it was Steve Stone who said give it 50 games to see where we are at to really analyze if this team will be good enough or not. (and KW was on the end of May bandwagon)

2010 Cubs Thread
QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ May 28, 2010 -> 02:45 PM) Brenley on the broadcast said he thought A-Ram should go on the DL because of, i believe he said, his thumb. All I know is I haven't watched a ton of Cubs this year, but what I've seen, A-Ram looks terrible at the plate. Funny thing is, he is doing what most people think the sox players should do... not listen to their hitting coach. And Jaramillo is considered one of the best (if not the best) in the game.
