I don't understand the defensive alignment on Mags .... just before he threw the pitch, they showed a ghuge gap between Juan and Joe. And now not having Anderson in has finally bit the Sox -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 08:37 PM) 93 pitches, 63 strikes for Bonderman through 6. So next inning should be his last. Javy should have 2 or 3 more innings left. Go get a first pitch strike Javy. -

When Javy gets ahead ..... throws a first strike ....... his large array of pitches and movement seems to be too much to handle. -
QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jul 18, 2006 -> 09:19 PM) Ah, I love being right! QUOTE(POPPY_HIDALGO @ Jul 18, 2006 -> 07:16 PM) Hopefully it won't be his only good inning. If he's lucky the Sox will score some runs this inning. They are going to need to score alot tonight with Garland on the mound. 'I am only listening to the game and therefore don't dnow what he is throwing. I would rather of heard 3 ground balls, rather than 2 fly outs and 1 grounder. Still, the way Jon has been coming on, it would not surprise me if he gives up 2 or less.' Me too

Let's see how they try to get Brian to second.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 18, 2006 -> 08:28 PM) I like Kong's chances here.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 18, 2006 -> 07:33 PM) Garland looks great so far. Everything is down, and he is throwing strikes. What a difference getting ahead of people is for Garland. This is what I like to hear - keeping the ball down - now 1 out in the third - 4 of seven outs via the grounder.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jul 18, 2006 -> 07:25 PM) I still think a new SS is our biggest need right now... I vote for 2 new brains for Javy and Freddie.

QUOTE(POPPY_HIDALGO @ Jul 18, 2006 -> 07:23 PM) They were lucky to get one. So far you're zero for 1. That's worse than JD and Joe.

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jul 18, 2006 -> 07:07 PM) f*** podsednik. Here we go - 1 hitter and an 'f' bomb. Sheesh. :headshake

QUOTE(greg775 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 10:07 PM) By no means am I blaming Coop, but isn't it amazing how after last season the Yankees just had to have Coop. I'm sure nobody is clamoring to steal him away, now. And I am NOT blaming him. I think he's great. But when players don't perform, things change in a hurry. Is it just me, or do our starters, with the exception of Jose, not strike anybody out? Is this a sign of bad things to come? Why don't we get many K's? Buehrle and Garland at their best are not strikeout pitchers. This is not a bad thing. Garland should be getting ground balls and Buehrle also should also be getting hitters out with a minimum of pitches. Vasquez has the stuff to get strikeouts. I think his problem is between his ears. He looks to me like he still has good stuff. Garcia is another problem. There is something wrong with him. If he could throw hard consistently, as in the past, he would have by now. I still think Javier could turn it around. I think Garcia should be replaced by McCarthy. The real trick will be for Kenny to get something of value for an ineffectual soft tosser.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 03:00 PM) this is the first I've heard, but Farmer says the flu is running through this team This might explain a lot. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:48 PM) We're not playing National League teams anymore. There's not a baseball expert alive who's watched our series vs the Red Sox and Yankees and thought we were a better team. The scary thing is that we've had our 2 best guys face both teams in the 5 games so far. Based on the last few starts, I think maybe Garland slips into the #2 spot. -

QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:45 PM) gotta hope that Freddy steps up tomorrow because you know the Yankees are going for the kill shot and the Tigers ain't losing to the Royals all weekend. Frightening thought to go into Detroit 5 1/2 out, needing to win at least two. But it's sure possible. Freddie throwing wiffle balls in Yankee Stadium .......... be very, very afraid. -

QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:21 PM) well now its 4-0. Wow, MB makes a good pitch and Bernie f***ing Williams goes gap the opp way. The pitch was in a difficult location, but it looked to me like Williams was making sure he didn't roll over on that at bat ........ so he was thinking the other way .......... therefore I would of liked to see Mark work inside. -
AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!&#

I had to work all day ...... where do the game day threads go when the game is ova? Never mind - I guess the word 'archive' says it all. -
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:08 PM) That's actually more SB's than I figured for the 1st, but I still don't think it would be much of a dropoff from Pods to Mackowiak/Ozuna. He's going to occupy the opposing pitcher's mind a lot more than either Mack or Ozuna. It wasn't that long ago he was up near .300 after starting off very slow. I think Pods's value will never be fully measured by statistics.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) I don't understand how so many could say he was so great last year, and so pathetic this. His obp is only .004 lower than last year. He is only 18 runs short of his entire season total from last year. He already has driven in more runs, and he has approximately half of the SB. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Pods is anything more than average, but I thought that last year as well. The Soxtalk fickle faction.
