  1. Via MacRumors- Are we finally seeing the future of the newspaper business?
  2. Cantor Bows to Rush... Again. Cantor on Sunday: "What we're trying to do here today is kick off a series of town hall forums so that we can get back to listening to the people" Mitt Romney: "Listening to people can make a difference, that's what we're talking about here, we're listening to people." Jeb Bush: "I'm actually optimistic [about the future], if we have the humility to start listening and learning..." Rush on Monday: "We do not need a listening tour. We need a teaching tour. That is what the Republican Party, or, slash, the conservative movement needs to focus on. Listening tour ain't it." Cantor on Wednesday Morning: "You know, Joe, really, this is not a listening tour."
  3. QUOTE (Cknolls @ May 6, 2009 -> 08:09 AM) THIS IS TOO GOOD: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/8034027.stm HA! Irony at its absolute best.
  4. Ok, so I meant this to be a semi-serious thread, but I kinda like the direction it's going. lol
  5. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 6, 2009 -> 07:52 AM) Re-institute jousting tournaments hell yea
  6. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 6, 2009 -> 07:35 AM) all I can think of is History of the World Pt 1 so I would say that I would implement "GANGBANGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!" It's good to be the king.
  7. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 6, 2009 -> 07:31 AM) Pink is outlawed. The singer or the color? Both would be great in my opinion. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 6, 2009 -> 07:31 AM) Wrigley field gets demolished for a tribute to the 2005 WS team.
  8. On a local level, I'd require all new commercial buildings to have a certain percentage of their power usage to be supplied by solar or wind power. This would be the basic formula: Look at all the commercial buildings in the town and calculate the average kWatt per square foot. Then require all new commercial buildings to provide somewhere between 25-50% of that kW/sf via solar or wind. Building owners/renters would get a SIGNIFICANT tax break if they provide over 80%.
  9. I thought this might be a little fun: If you were king / dictator of you local, state, or national government, what law(s) would you implement? (try to think a little outside the box here. no "i'd ban all guns" kinds stuff)
  10. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 6, 2009 -> 05:40 AM) He can travel through time?!?!?! LMAO! Never know. He has all sorts of connections. My bad. forgot to spell check before I posted.
  11. Anyone see that Becham has 13 doubles in 24 games! Wow!
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 6, 2009 -> 04:39 AM) Claypool was the guy I wanted in there last time. Maybe this time, the Dem machine will back him, instead of this clown in office. The problem is the Dem machine wants Stroger in there because of his cronyism.
  13. Four local TV stations to share camera crews I know on a national level thee is an arrangement for "pool' reports that rotate between ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX. I find it interesting to try on a local level.
  14. QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 5, 2009 -> 01:19 PM) That has nothing to do with "far right" or "centrist", it totally has to do with Tom Ridge being a very popular political figure in PA politics. But when you hear the chatter our of the RNC, people like Ridge are told to sit down and shut up. Contesting someone who is more to the right wont go over well with Steele.
  15. This movie looks fascinating: District 9
  16. On a kinda related note, Cook COunty needs the money: Cook County settles recorder's office patronage clout lawsuits
  17. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 5, 2009 -> 12:25 PM) Check this out: So, the board votes to repeal it (why did they vote for it in the first place?). But Cook County has a 4/5 rule to override vetoes, and Stroger vows to veto. Fun times. \/ \/ \/ \/ \/
  18. I guess PA is a little more centrist than the far right, and Michael Steele, would hope it to be: Poll: Ridge Leads Toomey In 2010 Pennsylvania Senate Primary -- By A Landslide
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 5, 2009 -> 11:23 AM) If true, this is a fascinating anecdote looking at how the 2 parties are working right now. No... sorry channeled the GOP for a minute there.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2009 -> 09:41 AM) Who needs alternating current! Oh lets not get into the AC vs DC debate.
  21. Tesla was 50 years ahead of his time.
  22. Steele: Moderates are welcome, just dont expect us to listen to you WTF? Translation: Come, y'all are welcome to sit here and be ignored so we can get your vote.
