  1. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 08:54 PM) Red Kerr looks like he has aged 20 years in the last 3 years yea, he's going downhill fast. They needed to do this tonight... he may not make it to the end of the season.
  2. Any franchise who plays in "Jobing.com Arena" deserves to fail. Ok, now on a more serious point.. via Wikipedia: If a team is loosing THAT much money, is it more reasonable to maybe either relocate or fold? That's a LOT of money in 8 years.
  3. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 12:45 PM) He gave up 2 hits and 2 runs in 2/3 of an inning in game 2. How is that "very well"? oops! Meant 1,3,4
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 11:44 AM) Jenks had a blown save...partially because of Pods' crappy arm. But still, you can't fault them for picking Dye. Oh, I'm not saying he wasnt a good choice. But Jenks pitched very well in games 1,2, and 4. And Crede was masterful on the field and had a few good hits.
  5. For Christmas, I got the World Series DVDs. Yesterday, I was able to watch games 1-3. man... the memories! By the way... Jenks or Crede were the MVP... not Dye.
  6. GOP Opposes Pay Limits On Bailed-Out Bankers So, if it's bad to tell a company what to pay its employee's.... shouldnt it be bad to enforce minimum wage? Isnt that "anti-capitalism? If a car manufacturer wants to pay children $1 an hour to build cars... why cant it? It's wrong to enforce pay requirements.
  7. Desmond is Daniel's constant. hence why desmond has to go back.
  8. "the roof... the roof... the roof is on fire..." .... i'm going to hell for that. lol
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 5, 2009 -> 12:53 PM) After watching the episode again, i see hints that the nose bleeds could be happening to people who originate from the island or have been there over a longer period of time. Watch the exchange between Miles and Faraday when Miles tells him of the nosebleed, if you can. i think in time it will happen to all of them. but those with the most island experience get them first.
  10. QUOTE (RibbieRubarb @ Feb 5, 2009 -> 10:18 AM) Do you think JJ Abrams has a giant book in which the enitre story is laid out? If so, I hope they publish it when the series ends. they've basically had the entire story arch planned out since season one. specifics have been developed over time.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 4, 2009 -> 04:59 PM) The House has officially passed a delay in the DTV transition to June 12, the President is expected to sign the final version what changed between the first time they voted (and if failed).. and now?
  12. I have a co-worker who took her honeymo0on to Hawaii in late November and they did the LOST ATV tour. apparently, part of their tour took them by the wood structure sans "jughead".
  13. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 4, 2009 -> 10:25 AM) The DRays were never really considered for contraction thanks to their lease on Tropicana Field (I think they are "supposed" to stay there for like 25 more years unless they can get another stadium made for them). The thought process the entire time was to bring the totals in both leagues down to 14 to make an even number of teams in both leagues and thus never having problems with interleague. Having an odd number of teams in baseball will never work, as schedule setting would forever be messed up. It would have been really weird to see the DBacks in the AL West and the Rangers in the AL Central though. I'm sorry. i should have made it more clear. Tthey WANTED to dump the Drays, but couldnt cause of the a for mentioned lease. I remember the Twins, DRays, KC, and A's all mentioned as possibilities in the AL and the Expos and Marlins in the NL. (Marlins because of pitiful attendance).
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 4, 2009 -> 10:04 AM) Andrew Sullivan: what a Douchbag
  15. Remember a few years back when "fixing" the Twins meant contracting the Twins as well as the Expos, and maybe the DRays as well? Amazing how things change.
  16. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 12:07 PM) marketing move. 'everyday American gets his voice heard!' sadly, they may actually be looking for advice.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 02:39 PM) Despite being the biggest ignoramous on radio, he's supposed to be the biggest asshole to the people working for him. They all hate him. I can confirm that.
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 01:10 PM) Good point. But, having him 9th with Abreu leading off does give Lexi better pitches to hit, probably. Most teams place a weak hitter in the #9 spot. Either a pitcher in the NL or a weak hitting batter in the AL. I've ALWAYS felt you need a strong hitter in the #9 hole. It's a great way to turn over the line-up. A line-up isnt top to bottom, it's a circle.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 10:55 AM) He would make us pine for the days Carl Everett was patrolling CF. my thoughts too. just throwing it out there.
  20. Random thought.... we all assume a Abreu signing means Dye is gone. Any chance Abreu plays center? I know he's not a wiz defensively... just throwing that out there as a crazy idea. Doubt it's even an option.
  21. It wont happen, but I like Pat White out of West Virginia. I see some crazy "wildcat" opportunities with him... but it wont happen.
  22. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 07:16 AM) http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3880712 I'm shocked!! I completely trusted Roger. He is an upstanding gentleman and I trust his every word.
  23. Sign Abreu... trade for Figgins.... 1) Figgins, CF 2) Abreu, RF 3) Konerko, 1B 4) Thome, DH 5) CQ, LF 6) AJ, C 7) Ramirez, SS 8) Betemit / Fields / Viciedo, 3B 9) ?????, 2B I like it!!!
