Dont worry folks... if McCain is elected president we'll mostly be out of Iraq by 2013. Only 5 more years of dead Americans. No need to worry.. Plus 100 years after the deaths of Americans stop. So, we'll be out of Iraq by 2113, maybe a little later. My personal take on the issue.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 14, 2008 -> 09:46 PM) Yeah, and we know that that makes it all better. His momentary lapse of judgement in using a condescending term towards a woman doing her job, creating a hostile work environment and displaying his utter lack of respect towards women is all forgiven. Good thing he didn't use a bat in any way. a LOT of people use the word sweetie or dear or sugar.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 14, 2008 -> 07:28 PM) Check out Obama's put-off of the female reporter in this clip. He also never answers the question. "hold on one second, sweety!" I wonder how his lady voters like that one? He has since apologized:

QUOTE (lostfan @ May 14, 2008 -> 05:44 PM) lol so I'm kinda half-listening to Edwards speak and I just heard him borrow a couple words from Reagan i.e. "tear that wall down." Same inflection and tone and everything. hmmm..... I was listening to it and didnt even think of that.. good catch.

Edwards referenced his request for a JetSki on the Colbert Report. Classic!
-
QUOTE (lostfan @ May 14, 2008 -> 04:53 PM) I heard Edwards is picking the Giants over the Patriots in the Super Bowl. I almost didnt get that. Well done sir. Sly.

Interesting note from Ben Smith of the Politico, this has been planned for over a day now...

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 14, 2008 -> 03:42 PM) Not worth the time. They could gain a few, maybe several points in Kentucky with Edwards help I guess, but Clinton is still going to win big and Obama is still going to be the nominee in November. Everything Obama does should look towards November, including using Edwards to help gain the support of more male white voters. Agreed. I just threw out the qustion for debate. I think Edwards now heads to states like Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina (try to flip that state), and Ohio.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 14, 2008 -> 03:40 PM) You mean the Richard Simmons endorsement didn't help with white men? Just overly flamboyant gay white men.
-
so, does edwards head straight to Kentucky to close the gap on Clinton? Or is this just a symbolic speech and he goes back to his regular life?
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 14, 2008 -> 03:36 PM) Not necessarily. Edwards' delegates can go to whomever they want and some may even remain in the Edwards column. true
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 14, 2008 -> 03:27 PM) Am I the only one that thinks that an Edwards endorsement right now isn't that big of a deal? Where was he before NC and WV? I mean the race is 99.9% over so who cares. It's minor, but symbolic more than anything else. Might help Obama in Kentucky. Plus, it gives Obama 18 more delegates.
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 14, 2008 -> 03:54 PM) Well I guess it's pretty much official. Sources say that Edwards boarded a jet this afternoon. ABC first to call it. CNN and MSNBC confirm

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 14, 2008 -> 02:13 PM) Dude. Seriously. You are wetting yourself over this (your words)? And is it a subject that really needs a bazillion posts? Don't get me wrong, I think its definitely something worth monitoring. But please, take it back a few notches. It's a REALLY slow day at work. lol I'm done for a while. Need to return my cellphone. Found the one I lost two weeks ago. lol

Quick Hit: If Edwards endorsed Obama, could we argue his "popular votes" should be transfered to Obama if nothing more than on a symbolic level?
-
Update: Radio silence from six senior Obama officials when asked directly by The Page: “Is John Edwards endorsing Barack Obama today?” Holy Crap!
-
No mention of this by major cable news outlets. I grow skeptical. Funny note: Marc Ambinder links to Time's Blog saying Edwards is the endorsement, but Time's Blog links to Marc Ambinder saying there is a big endorsement. Apparently the rest of the news media is out of the loop. lol

Thinking out loud... might it be Jim Webb?

White House Victory Fund A new three-way agreement between the Obama campaign, the Clinton campaign, and the Democratic National Committee to raise money for the general election is being established. The money raised will go to help the eventual nominee. If the nominee accepts general election public financing, funds would be returned to donors. The unusual joint account does not plan to accept money from lobbyists or PACs.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 14, 2008 -> 01:16 PM) Marc Ambinder says that the Obama campaign will be unveiling a big endorsement tonight. i wet myself. ok, seriously, things like this tend to get blown out of proportion. A few weeks back there was a "leaked" story that several predominate Clinton supporters were flipping... it was just 2 regular voters and some minor superdelegate or something like that. I'll believe it when I see it.

QUOTE (Gene Honda Civic @ May 14, 2008 -> 01:13 PM) There you go moving the goalposts again

Delegate Math Update... There are now 797 total superdelegates with the inclusions of Foster, Cazayoux and Childers. 2,026 is what's needed to nominate now -- one higher than yesterday after Dems won the congressional seat in MS-1.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 14, 2008 -> 01:12 PM) Does Halperin know something we don't? Probably not. Last time this happened we all thought Richardson would endorse Obama while Obama was in NM and it didnt happen. Update to story: "How about an Obama-Edwards meeting in, say, Grand Rapids?" INTERESTING! I still think it is much ado about nothing. The update has now been removed. STOP TOYING WITH ME! lol

I e-mailed the story to my pastors because I was curious what they might say. Our assistant pastor basically agreed with the article that there is nothing that says there cant be life on other planets. He served in the armed forces for 20 years and was stationed on a base in England in which "parts" of a UFO and other UFO stories have been around for a while. it happened before he got there, but the story is still around.
