QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 11:58 AM) I don't think that is what was said. It was.
-
Ok, so Romney just ripped Islam for having a wing that wants to replace all governemnts with a religious leader. Didn't a Huckabee (a republican) just say a few weeks a go the constitution should be replaced with a version more like the bible?

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 11:52 AM) (they) and are now completely close minded to anybody different with interest in their party, which is perhaps the biggest reason for the fracture in the party right now. And as you write this Romeny is going off the wall. Basically declaring anyone who isnt "core" republican isnt worth our time.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 11:48 AM) It's not that hard to grasp. Conservatives dislike anybody who doesn't agree with them (including moderate members of their own party), and are kicking and screaming at the changes in their party going on right now. As a result, McCain, who is perhaps the biggest beneficiary of these changes, is becoming a target for all conservative political people to attack because he's the face of the change and is making conservatives drop left and right in this campaign. Yeah, that's a small detail people are trying to forget apparently. Yeah, Romney and his all of a sudden conservative ways are closer to Huckabee, but there is no love lost there. I just find it hilarious that Romney was b****ing that Huckabee got in his way, and he ends up dropping out before Huck did. I just don't get the reasoning behind the hatred. Free and independent thought seems to not be acceptable. i just coined a phrase... "Dictatorship of Thought". you dont agree... off with your head. it just seems wrong. You dont see Ted Kennedy BLASTING Joe Lieberman. Yet you have the core right declaring war on McCain.
-
With all this HATE for McCain from large portions of the Right... wjy is McCain so hated? Also, why does the right seem to think anyone one step to the left of far right is the devil? I've NEVER understood this hatred. You dont hear people on the far left whole sale ripping apart someone on the right. Yes they might disagree, but you never hear them declair them the devil.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 11:25 AM) I'll believe this when I see it. Gore oh I just wet myself. lol Seriously, Gore knows the Clintons as well as anyone having worked with them for 8+ years. He knows their slimmyness and problems. I know some would rather see him work around the world, but I would LOVE to see him as Secretary of Energy. He's be the "Anti-Cheney". While Cheney and his chronies pushed pro-oil, Gore would push pro-alternative energy. Not to mention his "street cred" with the youth of America and environmentally conscious people.

Colbert on Hillary: Clap Clap Point Point
-
QUOTE(iamshack @ Feb 6, 2008 -> 11:00 PM) Not sure if this has been posted, but the Clinton's loaned Hillary's campaign $5 million today. Quick question: It says she LOANED her campaign the money. How does that compare to Mitt Romney? I though he just gave his campaign money. Hillary is loaning her money? Not ballsy enough to actually play with her real money?
-
QUOTE(iamshack @ Feb 6, 2008 -> 09:08 PM) Well, at the very least, they are absolutely more dramatic. True. I prefer British comedies (they are much better written) and most of my favorite actors/actresses are Britsh (with the exception of Johhny Depp)
-
QUOTE(iamshack @ Feb 6, 2008 -> 08:54 PM) Wow, that's quite the article! No one can do it quite like the Brits, can they? Brits are better writers, better actors, and better comedians. They are the best.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 6, 2008 -> 08:01 PM) Clinton campaign getting stretched for cash. Senior staff now working without pay while Obama's campaign close to raising $5M since the polls closed yesterday. She's really sinking. I think Obama beat them at their own game. they got schooled.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Feb 6, 2008 -> 07:53 PM) too bad of the 3 of them, Conan is the only funny one. I rate it this way... Conan > Colbert > Stewert

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Feb 6, 2008 -> 02:42 PM) How long until GWB declares to invade the Atlantic Ocean? You are assuming the US isnt the one cutting the cables....
-
For those of you who dont follow technology to closely, there are many cables that are run under water to connect countries. (Much like connecting North America to Europe or Asia). Well, in the last week, FOUR underwater cables have been mysteriously cut or stopped functioning. These cables carry internet and phone lines. it was reported today that a FIFTH was cut today. Something is up. 5 cables down in less than 2 weeks??? HIGHLY suspicious. A diagram of the cables via CNET...

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Feb 6, 2008 -> 01:11 PM) Hadn't even thought of that... I thought I read where 22% percent would be voting early (878,747 total votes). Let me try and break this down in my unprofessional opinion... As of this moment, Hillary has 2,107,758 votes, Obama has 1,717,681, Edwards has 168,866. Extract 22% from 3,994,305 and you get 3,115,558 day of votes. Extract 50% of 878,747 from Hillary and you get 1,668,384. Extract 40% of 878,747 from Obama and you get 1,366,182. Extract 10% of 878,747 from Edwards and you get 80,991. That's a break down of 53.55%-43.85%. Still a 10pt gap. If it breaks 60-30-10 early voters, its 50.7%-46.67%

Has anyone seen absentee vs "day-of" voting in California? I'd be VERY interested to see what those numbers are.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 6, 2008 -> 11:41 AM) Meanwhile, jesus, those Tornadoes killed 52 people yesterday. and climbing. I bet it hist mid-70s before it is all over.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 6, 2008 -> 11:23 AM) By the way the Illinois ballots were just as irritating as can be. Draw a line to connect two arrows with an ink pen? WTF? I loved the electronic machine I used. VERY easy to use and fast.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 6, 2008 -> 10:59 AM) Obama will need to find some way to close the gap amongst the hispanic voters. He says he got nearly 40% in New Mexico. And nation wide it was 34.

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 08:26 PM) That Evan guy smoked his old record on the eliminator by 6 seconds. Pretty crazy. Evan isnt freaking human. He's a machine!

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 6, 2008 -> 10:43 AM) February 9th: Washington (78) Louisiana (56) Nebraska (24) February 10th: Maine (24) February 12th: Virginia (83) Maryland (70) D.C. (15) February 19th: Wisconsin (74) Hawaii (20) I havent seen any polls, but the press (and apparently the Clinton campaign) seem to think those states might go Obama. At least the Feb 9th stats and probably the Feb 12th states.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 6, 2008 -> 10:36 AM) I've heard a wiiiiiiiide variety of opinions on that. On balance, I think he was a pretty good President. But he certainly wasn't the mythical beast that he sometimes cast as. At least, not from the current view, looking at what he did and did not do. Of course, he also didn't have as much chance to do what he could, as others, because of his short time in office. Maybe someone like Tex who voted for him could tell you more. In fairness, he didnt have the full opportunity to prove himself. His life was cut too short. i think he would have done a lot more had he not been killed. Civil Rights legislation that was passed by LBJ was originally proposed by Kennedy. People forget that (the Clintons did).
