  1. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 02:04 PM) N.J. superdelegate for Clinton now undecided. Is this the first time that a pledged superdelegate has decided to unpledge themselves this campaign cycle (not involving campaign dropouts of course)? I thought I heard some "non-public" endorsements have switched. but i cant find out where I heard/read that
  2. Did some quick math, if the democrats were "winner take all" like most of the Republican states, Obama would be only be trailing Hillary by a count of 836-979. Factor in the projections for this weekend... 994-1003. Talk about CLOSE even with her wining CA, NY, and NJ.
  3. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 10:59 AM) That would be up to Dean and the candidates I guess, and Dean has noted he's looking to make some sort of compromise if there is no clear frontrunner by March. Well, it would be hypocritical for Obama to fight if Hillary won the state delegates. the whole campaign has been about the people. what the people want. If Clinton wons, the people wanted her. He should step aside in my opinion. However, i am not to sure about Hillary. I think there would be a LOT of pressure for her to move aside, but we all know the Clintons are stubborn. They'll fight it.
  4. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 10:30 AM) I haven't head that, and for Florida at least I seriously doubt it will happen. At any rate, it's not going to matter in Florida because a second vote would still split delegates essentially 50/50 or maybe slightly more for Clinton. No way that is going to dictate a winner. Sadly, it really looks like it's going to come down to the superdelegates and at a brokered convention. I think there needs to be an agreement after the last primary. Make is simple. No superdelegate decisions. Whoever has the most pledged delegates wins, the other steps aside.
  5. Obama Results Center... Obama - 910 Clinton - 882 Not sure where they are getting hteir numbers. i think they are projecting. According to a combination of MSNBC and CNN, I have the count at.. Obama - 858 Clinton - 863 With 71 yet to be assigned. however, those states with delegates outstanding are states Obama won handely (CO, GA, IL). So, most will tip his way.
  6. Not sure if you guys heard this or not, but there is a rumor floating around that Michigan and Florida might REDO their primaries post-March 4th. Rumor is Michigan would do some sort of a caucus, but Florida is a different story. They might take the "national average" and divide there delegates that way. Below is last nights Countdown with Kieth Olberman...
  7. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 09:36 PM) http://www.cnbc.com/id/23057002 I dont care about the details of the deal as long as they can get 8 more episodes of LOST written and produced before the season is over.
  8. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 04:31 PM) Reason 7830 I dislike Hillary... http://tinyurl.com/2fl7eg Great response on Digg...
  9. QUOTE(iamshack @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 04:51 PM) Well, he and Hillary have only had one 1-on-1 debate thus far. And I'm not saying anything negative about either position. Just trying to be fair. I think 1, maybe 2, debates are entirely reasonable. but 5???
  10. QUOTE(iamshack @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 04:42 PM) Well, did you read the update to the article, which discusses that Obama once was the one looking for more debate time during his Illinois Senatorial Campaign... Also note: Back then not a lot of people knew about them.It wasnt a nationally covered election. In this case, seriously, if you havent seen where they stand from the 18 debates they have held and the ENDLESS media coverage of these two, you shouldn't vote. Ok, that's a bit extreme, but you get my point. Debating 5 times between now and March 5th is INSANE. Pull up BarackObama.com or HillaryClinton.com. Watch CNN. Watch MSNBC. Do some hme work. Dont rely on a ruch of debates to form your opinion.
  11. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 04:31 PM) Reason 7830 I dislike Hillary... http://tinyurl.com/2fl7eg She's only out for herself
  12. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 02:35 PM) I don't think anyone said it wasn't. However, lying and saying they won't when they will is the issue at hand. and of course she'll say she never said anything. it was an inaccurate report. But we all know reports like that dont come out without someone deep within the campaign saying it. OR, they'll spin it saying "well, we couldnt pay them, but now we can thanks to our wonderful doners".
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 02:14 PM) Because her campaign needs press coverage...and Obama raked in like 1.75 times what she raked in. Typical Clinton tactic... "look at what we did! it's amazing! pay no attention to the people over there doing something MORE amazing. Ours is amazing enough"
  14. Why do I hate Hillary? She pulls gimmicks like this... Clinton Campaign Staffers Not Going Without Pay despite early reports. Looks like their "money issues" were just a stunt to draw more money.
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 02:02 PM) Ah good old Clintonian double-talk... Guess who has spent $5 million out their own pockets, and is still slipping in the polls... She's not really putting herself out there. She is LOANING the money. meaning, she has to be paid back. One of the last checks she writes in the primaries, will be to herself for $5,000,000.
  16. QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 10:57 AM) Mods --- Please delete the above post. I forgot to include the link (I just happened across it) and now I can't find it to edit it in. If I do, I'll repost. Never mind. Here it is Here's the problem. under ANY other administration in the past I would have said this was over-hype. under this administration, it's par for the course. Heck, probably birdie for the course. We the people distrust this administration so much that this is entirely plausible.
  17. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 01:20 PM) This is the moment Ron Paul has been waiting for. the moment for Paul to drop out?
  18. QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 01:15 PM) Hillary's gotta get her groove on. She already has her grove on: Clap Clap Point Point
  19. Rasmussen Reports: Obama and Clintons tied at 44% Interesting Point: I have long said, "If you aren't for Hillary, you are against her". Well, look at the stats. She has been consistently 35-45%. However, Obama has been in the mid to high 20s. Over the past 2 months, Obama has been pulling MANY of the undecideds and other candidates. He has jumped to 44%. Where is Hillary? Still where she was 3 months ago.
  20. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 11:38 AM) Oh bulls***. Nobody cares, or at least no one cares that matters. unfortunately people do. If you beat it into the ground enough, it gets ingrained into a persons mind. On a subliminal level, HUSSEIN = Saddam HUSSEIN. Simple as that.
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 12:10 PM) The Senate Republicans successfully filibustered the Senate version of the Economic stimulus package last night, supposedly because it had the gall to add in about $44 billion or so over 2 years in changes like additional unemployment benefits and help with heating for the poor. There were also a few goodies stuck in to placate a few Republicans at the changes. The interesting thing about it? The final vote was 59-40 (Harry Reid changed his vote so that he could bring it back to the floor later if necessary so it tallied 58-41). Every one of the Presidential Candidates in the Senate returned to Washington for the vote. But, you may be asking...59+40 is 99. Who didn't vote? Was it the guy who had a stroke about a year and a half ago? Was Larry Craig in the bathroom? What happened? Turns out, it was that steely eyed missile man and straight talker, John McCain, who missed the vote. He flew back to Washington for the vote, and didn't vote. Seems he didn't want to risk being able to be tarred by a vote that was remotely controversial in the general election campaign. A true story of courage. One worthy of remembrance. McCain better DARE not bring up Obama's "present" votes.
  22. I believe he is scheduled to speak this afternoon.
  23. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 11:48 AM) He just can't stop with the really lame jokes and jabs at liberals, Harvard, France, etc. Oh it's not just him. It's the entire right. Liberal=Devil
