  1. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 10, 2008 -> 11:13 AM) I'm never leaving my house again. You just can't trust anything to be clean. try bringing a black light into a hotel room and run it over the bed sheets
  2. oh my!!! well, glad I dont travel much
  3. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jan 9, 2008 -> 01:51 PM) I don't think so but you should investigate. hmmm... ok. that that it is my motivating factor. I've been planning for a while. But that popped up in my head for some reason.
  4. Why is Rudy cutting taxes? WHat programs does he want to cut to compensate for the already MASSIVE national debt. I can understand not RAISING taxes, but to cut them?
  5. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jan 9, 2008 -> 01:34 PM) I've already donated this morning. my wife and I probably will within the next week or 2. It's a tax writeoff, correct?
  6. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jan 9, 2008 -> 01:29 PM) On NPR, anecdotally, a lot of independents chose to vote for McCain instead of Obama because of Obama's perceived large lead. I figured that would be the case
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 9, 2008 -> 12:46 PM) ABC News hmmm.... very interesting! I have always thought order on a ballot means something. People who are uncommitted might just pick the first name they recognize.
  8. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 9, 2008 -> 12:24 PM) --That leaves just Florida before Super Tuesday (among states that count - Michigan has been left out because of their screw-up). Clinton had a huge lead there for some time, hovering around 20 to 30 points, in polls through early December. But the only one published since then, which was done after Iowa (on 1/7), shows that lead cut to 7. So Florida is huge. Assuming Edwards is still in it, the winner of Florida becomes the clear favorite going into Super Tuesday. Florida doesnt count. They were stripped of their delegates and few are on the ballot. Clinton i believe is still on it (probably just to get some pub for winning a state, even if it isnt contested)
  9. MSNBC is reporting that NPR said the woman who brought Hillary to tears actually voted for OBAMA! LOL
  10. Obama just picked up the service workers union endorsement. No link, but i just heard it on MSNBC.
  11. QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Jan 9, 2008 -> 09:48 AM) Does anyone know what the NV caucus rules are? If viability is set at 15%, like in Iowa, it will be interesting to see how second choices break. If the threshold for viability is lower, or if there is no threshold, not so much. NV Democratic Caucus Rules
  12. I think it's a math formula. but probably close to 15%
  13. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 9, 2008 -> 09:30 AM) That's true. And I also think we'll see how Hillary's new girlish charm attempts go over in the next week. It may work for her, or it may backfire. I think if she gets TOO girly and emotion, it'll really backfire. She cant be soft. But she cant be as hard as she has been the past 6 months.
  14. Ya know... i got thinking last night, does it prove just how "unlikable" or "unelectable" Hillary is if she has to bring out Bill to make major pushes for her? I know Michelle Obama is speaking for Barack, but Bill is a HUGE draw. I bet a lot of voters are voting for him, not her.
  15. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 9, 2008 -> 08:55 AM) I've been considering this. The conventional thinking is that Edwards is taking more votes from Obama than from Clinton. I am not so sure. I think they might be about split. But in either case, if Edwards drops out after SC and gives his 15%-ish nationally to either candidate, that candidate will most likely win. Remember, NV is a caucus. So, you could see something similar to what happened in Iowa were people flip to Obama Edwards as a second choice. And if Edwards isnt viable, that could be a huge boost to Obama.
  16. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 9, 2008 -> 09:14 AM) Hillary was thought to be too cold and unlikeable - so she has now "transformed" herself to be softer, more heartfelt, in her speeches. I watched her last night after the win, and sure enough, she changed her whole demeanor - her tone and pitch of speech, her body language, even her hair and makeup. She is a master and playing the game. I dont want my president "faking" her image to get elected. THat is not acceptable to me. She is who she is. We have seen her for almost a year. This not her, this is an image.
  17. Remember, NV is a caucus. So, you could see something similar to what happened in Iowa were people flip to Obama Edwards as a second choice.
  18. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 11:40 PM) So what does this really MEAN political gurus out there? I personally think Obama supporters mailed it in because of the predictions. I am highly disappointed with this... Hillary rips off "change" and then starts crying and now she's winning? I see nothing fresh out of her camp... it just seems like she's trying to "change" herself with whatever people are looking for. Please, someone with much more knowledge on the subject enlighten me. No, you are dead on. People saw Obama and Edwards gaining traction with the word change now EVERYONE (even the freaking Republicans!) are using it. Obama needs to find a new buzzword. "change" is white noise now. Maybe his "Yes we can" will be a new cry.
  19. Ok, who does the food workers union in NV endorse now? THey have been waiting for a front runner and it's effectively tied.
  20. Disclaimer, I dont like Hillary... Ok, so we hear Hillary attacking Obama on his experience and knowledge. Yet, tonight she said it took NH to "find her voice". It took her almost a YEAR to find her voice? yea, not someone I want in charge.
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 10:14 PM) Carol Mosely Braun would be my guess. GOd I hate her. I had a treacher in college who worked her campaigns and she is ALL my teacher ever talked about.
  22. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 10:14 PM) probably hoping people will log on and give an online donation to her campaign. I think this proves she is far shorter in cash than she is letting on.
  23. Clinton just plugged her website. HUH?
  24. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 09:49 PM) Maybe if Edwards dropped out and endorsed him, but other than that. Edwards is too damn stubborn to do that. He wont drop out until it is too late for Obama even if he CLEARLY has no chance of winning.
