  1. RealClearPolitics Poll Update... Interesting Note: If Edwards is below 15% in many of the areas, that is possibly a HUGE bump for Obama. If you take the "Reuters/CSpan/Zogby" poll. 42% for Clinton and 37% for Obama. If 8% of the Edwards supporters go to Obama it's 46% Clinton, 45% Obama, 9% undecided/other. It's going to be a CLOSE race.
  2. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 17, 2008 -> 05:02 PM) Not exactly - the Debate was Tuesday night, so the new poll is two-thirds pre-Debate as well. ohhh I didnt catch the time frame.
  3. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 17, 2008 -> 04:19 PM) Those results are quite different than the other two NV polls out. Other 2 are pre-debate.
  4. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jan 17, 2008 -> 03:39 PM) From an NPR interview today: I've read other people say the same thing. It's true. One thing I REALLY like about Obama is he'll look you in the eyes and tell you the truth. I think what a LOT of people miss is that Obama is about hope, but he has also said the next 4-8 years wont be all fun and games. He has said we will need to make sacrifices... specifically when it comes to . I respect someone who will tell me "this is gonna suck, but we're better in the end".
  5. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 17, 2008 -> 03:24 PM) Here's one attempt to crunch the numbers on Karl's claim there: OMG! 666. Voting on the strip means voting for the devil!!!!
  6. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 17, 2008 -> 03:22 PM) People need to read the quote I still dont get how being given the ability to vote means it is automatically 5 times more powerful. If they could go home to vote, they would! But since they cant, they hold caucuses there. It's just shifting the vote to a different location.
  7. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Jan 17, 2008 -> 03:14 PM) He might be referring to the allegations that there will be union officials there to make sure the rank and file vote the way they want them to, thereby ensuring most or all the votes go for Obama, even if they wanted to vote for someone else. See, and that is a HUGE issue I have with caucuses. I realize a caucuses probably favor Obama (whom I support). but Americans should be able to vote in secret. The one thing great about America is that we cant be influenced to vote when in the booth. It's what makes us different than supposed "democracy dictatorships" where you can vote, but if you dont vote for who we tell you to vote for... we kill you. THat is a bit drastic of a comparison, but who is to say someones JOB isnt in jeopardy for voting for Hillary and Not Obama? It's just not right.
  8. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 17, 2008 -> 02:55 PM) I tell you what, this is NOT the way to reach out to activists in this party...trying to make efforts to deny people the right to vote in a silly system like a caucus. That is the fundamental difference between the Clintons and Obama. The Clintons are all about trying to suppress those they think will hurt their goals, while Obama says "just vote. I dont care if it's for me or not. Just vote". It's " " vs .
  9. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 17, 2008 -> 02:41 PM) And he kept saying over and over again that those votes would be worth five times as much; anyone know what that's about? I thought that too. My guess is it's "fuzzy math" or a distortion of reality. Someone needs to call him out on this.
  10. Bill Clinton gets called out on his belief that Obama isnt experienced enough... oh wait, he said in 1992 experience doesn't matter.
  11. Clinton is a bit pissed about this Nevada thing...
  12. QUOTE(Balance @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 04:08 PM) After being a Mac user all through college and then switching to PCs for about 10 years, I bought a new iMac 2 weeks ago. I really do like it. It's funny how much the MacOS has changed over that time. I need to sit down with the new machine for a couple hours and figure out all the tricks I can make it do. I'm glad to be back with a Mac! If you have any questions, drop me a note. I'd be glad to help.
  13. I am going to do see it Saturday morning in digital projection
  14. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 08:01 AM) Iowa seems to say otherwise. OOPS!!! I was typing that late last night, must have been more tired than I thought. i meant to say a caucus favors Edwards and OBAMA (not Clinton) because I believe if you haven't voted for her already, you are against her.
  15. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 15, 2008 -> 10:06 PM) --But also Clinton and Obama (not just Edwards) had at least one screwed up answer - Clinton on finance (which she is clearly not knowledgeable on) and Obama on taxation (he sounded bad trying to defend his tax policies) It appeared to me that the question caught him off guard. On one side he had to present that he wants to have seniors making less than $50000 be income tax exempt, but also had to say he is in favor or rolling back tx cuts on investments (i think that was his stance, correct me if I am wrong). He didnt have enough info to fully answer it. If she had said the elderly couple made
  16. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 15, 2008 -> 10:16 PM) Well, let's look at the 2 NV polls taken this month for the Dems... ________ARG__R2000 Clinton.....35........30 Obama.....32........32 Edwards...25........27 So its a dead heat between Clinton and Obama, with Edwards running just a few points behind. With it being a Caucus, basically, its wide open. As I've said before, I believe caucuses favor Edwards and Obama, especially in a close race.
  17. A vote AGAINST Hillary... In race race that didnt feature 2 of the top 3 contenders on the ballot, Hillary Clinton only received 55% of the democratic vote in Michigan. 40% voted, "Uncommitted". This doesnt include people who may have crossed party lines to vote for Romney... who many believe would be beneficial to run against
  18. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jan 15, 2008 -> 04:19 PM) Any word on if the iPhone is going to work better with Microsoft Exchange Servers? My wife wants one, but wants to get rid of her phone AND Blackberry and just have one phone...and Outlook doesn't work all that well with the iPhone, at least with Exchange Server. I dont think so. I head, and I think they even said a while back, that they are working on it. I am sure MS isnt exactly itching to help them.
  19. MacBook Air ($1800 base)- Overpriced and underpowered. I think it might have stepped a little TOO far ahead. A minimalist notebook is very cool, but optical drives are still so important in many places (this shared optical drive" thing is crap, and $99 for a drive is not acceptable. No Ethernet is ok (most wireless connections are faster than the broadband speed anyways) Thumbs up on the eco-friendly stuff and I look forward to them moving this into their other lines. In November I bought a MacBook for $1500. Here are the specs... 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB 120GB Serial ATA @ 5400rpm SuperDrive 8x DL 5.0 pounds So... BETTER than the MacBook Air, cheaper than the MacBook Air, more USB ports than the MacBook Air, more firewire ports than the MacBook Air, slightly heavier than the MacBook Air.. oh and I get over 3.5+ hours of battery life with the backlight on the monitor turned down. A MacBook is by FAR a better deal. It doesnt have the "cool" factor, but it's still better than most other notebooks out there.
  20. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jan 15, 2008 -> 03:01 PM) I am not as poitically savvy I suppose but what is the deal with the Michigan primary regarding Democrats? basically, rules in the democratic party are that only Iowa and NH are allowed to hold primaries before Feb 5th. (NV is excluded because it is a caucus) Therefore, the DNC stripped Michigan and Florida of their delegates... rendering their primaries pointless. All the canidates agreed not to campaign in Michigan and Florida and many pulled their names from the ballots. I believe in Michigan hillary and Kuchinich are the only ones on the ballot.
  21. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 15, 2008 -> 01:52 PM) I think it would be hilarious if "Uncommitted" won for the Dems over Hillary. oh me too. I'd laugh so hard. it wont happen, but it would be great. It'll finish a VERY strong second though. I think that would tend to bolster the "if you aren't voting for Hillary, you are voting against her" idea. They dislike her so much that even though she runs unopposed she STILL doesn't get 100%
  22. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jan 15, 2008 -> 10:17 AM) Yep. http://theithacan.org/blogs/bigspoon/2008/...ican-gladiator/ Also if you do a image search withher name...that pretty much confirms it. The Soccer mom rocked her s*** anyway!! wow. the soccer mom should be the one doing softcore.
