It's self-defense if a guy pulls a gun on you or tries to stab you with a knife. But pouring a beer on you or throwing a bottle? No. Punching a guy for pouring a beer on you is overkill. What if the guy really DID have a knife on him when Artest went into the stands? Should Artest have still charged the stands in self-defense. Obviously not.

Let the record show, I agree 100% with you on that one.

I would have handled it better. Violance is no way to solve a conflict. Get the guys thrown in jail. Sue them. Do whatever you need to. but going after and punching a guy is no way to solve it.

Charging the stands would be one. Let me make it clear. I TOTALLY understand what happened. There is absolutely NO reason for what the fans did. But personally, I believe in self-restraint. There are better ways of resolving a conflict than charging the stands and beating the s*** out of a guy. It only makes the situation worse.

Can we now officially kick Artest out of the NBA and call him a psycopath? After all, he wont misss the NBA. he cares more about his record.

I went to a private Christian school from preschool through 8th grade. It is STANDARD ciriculum to take pre-algebra in 7th grade and algebra in 8th grade. I REALLY felt that gave me an advantage of public school kids.

You are correct. I dont know all the details, but this is what I think it is all about. XM will not pay local stations for their broadcast to be carried on XM. Sirius DOES pay stations for NFL. Now, i dont know all the logistics of it. If they are just taking the feed from the ballpark and inserting their OWN commercials, then i dont think local stations should be b****ing. However, if XM carries commercials, pregame, and postgame, then local stations have a reason to b****. Remember, the TEAMS own the broadcasters, not the station.

According to the numbers i have been keeping over the last year, if the Sox bring back Ben Davis, Juan Uribe, Joe Crede, Aaron Rowand, Timo Perez, Joe Borchard (or a minor leage replacment), Ross Gload, Willie Harris, and all their pitchers, the team has ABOUT $$63,000,000 tied up for next season. Now, I havent factored in raises in contracts due to arbitration or experience. Assuming the Sox DONT trade Konerko or Lee, that leaves us about $5 million to sign a SS, Reliever, and Starting Pitcher. If the Sox are willing to spend $75 million, then we have an extra 5 million to work with. Now, with that being said, the Sox could find a way to back load the contract of a signed player to compensate for not having a lot of money available this year. If the Sox dont trade Konerko, he will be a free agent and so will Carl Everett. THat frees up over $13 million in 2005.

Actually, from what I remember, JR and North get along real well. That is one of the reasons JR is courting The Score to carry the Sox and Bulls when their contract with 1000 runs out.
