  1. Rose's 3pt FG% post all-star break last year (28 games): 29.9% on 5.6 attempts per game. Rose's 3pt FG% in the 2011 playoffs (16 games): 24.8% on 6.3 attempts per game. Rose's 3pt FG% this year (10 games): 27.7% on 4.7 attempts per game. That, my friends, is the definition of awful. That's over 50 games of Steve Francis-like shooting from three. Unacceptable.
  2. QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 01:06 AM) I think the criticism of DROSE taking 3s is ridiculous... Yes, suggesting a player utilize his freakish athleticism and size (for a PG) to create better shots for himself is ridiculous. There's simply no justification for Rose to be averaging 5 3pt FG attempts per game.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 12:42 AM) It's just a byproduct of having to teach English, Writing, Economics, Business, American Government, American History and Culture, World History, Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology, World Geography and African-American History, lol. Never tried any psychotropic drugs...although after this weekend, I very well might try (of course, if was caught in possession of them, being put to death by firing squad in Xinjiang or Gansu Province in the dead of winter doesn't sound like a great idea!). Was recently volunteered to do a "favor," my very good Chinese friend can't get pregnant (she's 29) by her foreign husband, so she now was the bright idea of me doing it this THUR and FRI. I guess I should be flattered, lol. The adoption and sperm bank/sperm donor option...doesn't fit the Chinese traditional model of what's culturally acceptable. See, did it again, haha. Wait, so does this mean she wants you to f*** her? If so, you better do that s***. Unprotected sex with a woman and you can simply walk away if/when you get her pregnant? That's the american dream right there. Long as she doesn't look like the Jap version of wite, do it.
  4. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 11:44 PM) This. And yes. 6 in a row. Edit: And I REALLY f***ING HATE when people say College Football and Basketball are "pure" sports while the NFL and NBA aren't. It's more f***ing corrupt and less talent. If you want "pure" go watch f***ing high school, but that has recruiting too so... Middle school sports? Well, to be fair, there's nothing like the NCAA Tournament. It's like getting blown with a Mickey in one hand and a Stogie in the other.
  5. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 12:10 AM) He was never going to be a player. Overrated coming out of college and garbage in the pros. He can't dribble at all (I'm not sure he can even dribble through his legs), and he's not anywhere near a good enough shooter to make a living off of it. He (almost) literally NEVER gets to the free throw line, and for a guy that supposedly has the talent to be a solid defensive player, I haven't seen any evidence of it. Basically, we traded Jonny Flynn, so SOMEONE had to fill the "overdrafted Syracuse player that is a garbage pro" spot that was open on the team. Most Wolves fans disliked the pick at the time and were in favor of DeMarcus Cousins instead (myself included). Not sure that would have turned out any better, but Wes is simply not good. Damn. Well, I obviously don't watch many Wolves games. I was for the most part going off stats. And yes, ACC/Big East guys are notoriously overrated. I'm the dumbass that thought Thabeet would be the next Mutombo.
  6. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 12:01 AM) JJ Barea is a solid player off the bench (And far better than any other option we have at the 2, assuming we're playing him and Rubio together), and I find it hard to fault Anthony Tolliver for anything he does, but yeah, there are a lot of garbage players on this team. There's also a chance that Martell Webster comes back from injury and starts eating into Beasley's minutes, which wouldn't be a terrible thing. Not that Martell is any good (I can't stand him, personally), but given how bad Beasley has been, anything to get him off the floor is a plus. What's up with Wesley Johnson? I thought he was going to be a player. He still could be. But he's off to a rough start.
  7. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 11:53 PM) Wolves are going to get stomped by the Bulls tomorrow. Last game of a back-to-back-to-back in three different cities, coming off a bad loss to a bad team and banged up. Certainly doesn't help that we're starting our four worst players alongside Love. I feel so sorry for Love. Dude is putting up video game numbers at almost 40 MPG for nothing. I think Williams will be a player in time. Rubio has already proven to be an impact player; jumper needs work. Beasley is a joke. He reminds me of Jerry Stackhouse. The rest of that roster? Gross.
  8. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 11:48 PM) Considering Thomas and Bagwell had eerily similar careers offensively and Bagwell played first base full time, I am starting to think that Frank won't get in first ballot. Even though he has never had the cloud of steroid suspicion, I think the entire era will f*** him over. And it will be a shame. He was one of the top 10 hitters in baseball history during his prime. Too bad injuries hurt him. 3 MVPs would most certainly make him a first ballot guy. f***ing Giambi.
  9. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 10:56 PM) College football sucks. Pretty much. I used to follow it religiously. But all the same f***ing schools get the best recruiting classes EVERY year. College football has become more predictable than the NBA (and it's even more corrupt). And that's pathetic. Isn't that like 6 in a row for the SEC?
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 09:19 PM) He had to force two of them up today. True. But he was shooting 29% coming into tonight. And he was below league-average last year.
  11. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 09:11 PM) Im not sure it was running out of gas as much as it was failing to hold leads and lacking the mental makeup to win a huge playoff series. But yea, that was on Thibs and his rotations... OK. Oh and if Rose wasn't OK to play I'm sure he wouldnt have played. Rose probably wants to be out there to keep his stats up a little bit (back to back MVP hopes n stuff). lol. First of all, LeBron wants his MVP back. So that's that. Second, somebody needs to let Derrick know that he's NOT a 3-point shooter and has no business taking 5 a night.
  12. I'm not drunk yet but I will be very soon. And I simply didn't know where else to ask this question. If she says she's 18, but you're not sure, what do you do? Yes, and she's f***ing hot. Do I really ask her for identification? I mean, who does that? I'll be back later.
  13. My name is Jordan4life, and I would like to report that DeAndre Jordan has been a massive bust (save blocks) so far.
  14. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 7, 2012 -> 10:13 PM) I'd attribute some of that to Calvin Johnson. Sometimes Stafford just lobs passes up in the air for Johnson to adjust to. That being said, he's made major strides. I could be alone on this, but I'd rather take Cutler than Stafford right now (as in, as of this moment, not taking age and contract into account). Give Cutler Stafford's offensive line and Calvin Johnson and he puts up better numbers. There's no underestimating the Megatron effect. But even with that, Stafford did what he did with just 13 career games played coming into this season. And I agree with you about Cutler. But he's a Bear. "We get off the bus running." Even though it's 2012 and nobody runs anymore. Oh, and we have no legitimate offensive talent aside from Forte.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 7, 2012 -> 09:55 PM) Drew Brees is so much fun to watch. There's a guy who knows his s***. True. But Stafford certainly didn't disappoint either. He had one of the greatest season's ever for a QB that's not even 24 yet.
  16. I would turn this crap off. But I keep telling myself these are the Hawks.
  17. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 7, 2012 -> 07:13 PM) Man f*** him too. Where's the real LeBron that isn't on a mission? There's something different about him. I ain't seen a player look this focused/determined since MJ after his '95 comeback. Wade can just go ahead and take another week off. He's not needed right now.
  18. Lebron James after 1 quarter tonight: 7/7 FG, 8/9 FT, 4 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 22 PTS. He's on a different level this year. He's become supernatural.
  19. QUOTE (Lillian @ Jan 7, 2012 -> 03:16 AM) Dunn should be tradable to a N. L. team. He only had one bad season, and it was as DH in a new league. There is likely some N. L. team that wouldn't mind sticking him back at first base. If the Sox could pay a modest portion of that contract, I think he's movable. Then I would go after Kendry Morales. The Angels have no place for him with Pujols and Trumbo, and the injury makes him questionable. It would be a low risk acquisition as he is not owed any big money. He is a monster versus RHP and a good defensive first baseman, it they want to spell Konerko occasionally. Of course, he would have to pass a physical, but I'd love him as the left handed bat in our lineup. He's not a bad hitter from the left side, as well. Then there is the Cuban connection. He could be one more reason for Cespedes, or any other Cuban defector, to consider coming to the South Side. Kendrys Morales hasn't played in a ML baseball game since May of '10 and is on the brink of retiring. Really sad. A fluke injury occurring during a simple celebration after a walk-off GS is about to curtail what looked like a very promising career.
  20. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jan 7, 2012 -> 12:22 AM) I am not saying you were wrong, Thunder is certainly up there with the Heat in terms of individual talent. I am just pointing out if Bulls and Thunder meet in a Final, I like the Bulls chances, because what the Bulls have is suffocating defense, and timely offense. Defense wins championships, we know that, and Heat and the Bulls are 1 and 1a in that category. Thunder was mediocre in defense last year, and near the bottom so far this season. I don't want to start a KD vs Lebron debate, but the scoring title is alway Lebron's if he so choose to, he pointed that out last year. Durant is not the same player Lebron is on offense and defense. Lebron commands double team due to size advantage and explosive athleticism. He also creates so much more for his teammates, unlike Durant. I may be bold in saying this, but Lebron is the only player who can shut down Rose on offense and beat the Bulls elite defense, Durant can't. In a Finals matchup, Durant will have a very tough time scoring against this defense, and Rose will "will" the team to a championship. The season is young but Harden is playing at a very high level, if he continues to score with that efficiency and be a playmaker off the bench, THEN I would say the Thunder has a legit chance in beating the Bulls. LeBron James is the best player in the NBA and has been for about 5 years now. So LeBron > Durant. But you are SEVERELY underrating Kevin Durant. The Thunder are more talented and athletic than the Bulls. James Harden isn't really doing anything differently this year than he did last year. He's just playing more minutes.
  21. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 11:58 PM) That's what Steve probably wanted to hear. I liked the additions of Chandler and Shumpert and still do. They've been terrible defensively so far.
  22. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 11:52 PM) I don't see the Thunder beating the Bulls if they meet in the Final. The Bulls defense has been too good, especially at the perimeter. I don't see anyone beating the Bulls defense other than an athletic freak like Lebron James. The Bulls has the perimeter defenders that match up nicely against Durant. (albeit two games, but he shot only 38% last year vs Bulls) Derrick Rose and the Bulls shot blockers will take Westbrook (who hasn't been the same player so far) out of the game. I think the only way to beat this Bulls team is to completely shut down Derrick Rose on offense, which Lebron James has once shown he could do, and a player who can dissect the Bulls defense. I don't think the Thunder can do either. And the Bulls haven't seen anything remotely close to the Thunder's talent level and athleticism so far. Durant is a 2-time scoring champion and top 5 player in basketball overall. He'll get his whenever and however he wants. Just like Rose will pretty much do the same. Those two cancel each other out. Westbrook's shooting has been off so far. It's not gonna last. He's a legitimate all-star and a top 5 PG in the game overall. You mention the Bulls' "shotblockers" and don't say a thing about Ibaka? C'mon now. Then you've got arguably the best non-starter and a true game-changer in basketball in James Harden. Again, I'm not saying one team is better than the other. They both went to the conference finals last year when they weren't predicted to. They both come back intact this season. They're both really good.
  23. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 11:51 PM) Well, saying the Knicks were on the same level as the Bulls was definitely wrong. Then I'll be wrong. I really don't care. The Knicks have been disappointing so far and the Bulls haven't missed a beat from last year (regular season, at least).
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 11:39 PM) Once again I would like to point out that J4L stated the Knicks are better than the Bulls this year, yet I'm the one who gets called out in Gerry's signature (because I vastly underrated LBJ's lameness). QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 11:40 PM) You forgot the Knicks, bro. Remember? They are better than the Bulls. You were certain. For the 15th time, I said they had a case. I never said Knicks > Bulls or Bulls > Knicks. And can we at least wait until, I don't know, 20 games before we start the "I told you so's?" As for the Thunder, they're more talented than any team in the league outside of Miami. I didn't say they were better than the Bulls. Q said the Bulls and Heat are easily the two best teams in the league. Conference? For now, yes. League? No.
  25. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 11:08 PM) Bulls and Heat are easily the two best teams in the league. Thunder
