Lol@rowand losing his temper. That's like Mr. Rogers going apes***.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 11:27 PM) Personally, with the amount of cash he's cost me only recently, if I was Reinsdorf KW would be gone. Manny, Peavy, Griffey... it's over man. You are burning cash now. Wow, this is shocking. I guess Steve is just a Bulls homer.

QUOTE (Felix @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 11:29 PM) Sup Hello, sir.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 11:25 PM) Rasheed Wallace got a T for staring at a ref. lol it's just the way it is. Didn't Duncan get thrown out of a game once for laughing? Duncan is like the dude you hang out with just to study with. And use to help you cheat on an exam.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 11:21 PM) But that won't last. He's good but not great. He's obviously not this good. But I've liked him for a while. He was hurt last year.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 11:11 PM) Choo, Sizemore, Santana, Hafner is definitely turning into a formidable middle of order. You forgot about Cabrera (Asdrubal). He's been the best of them all.

QUOTE (oldsox @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 10:33 PM) Martinez, Kuhn seem to be having the most success so far. Move 'em up. We might have a 'Youth Movement' in a couple of months. Sad but true. And I can deal with that. But it sucks when your youth is, well, not really good at the game of baseball.

Say what you will about the Indians, but these guys can mash.

The Sox won't touch Peavy after next year. Even I have that much faith.

White Sox @ Rays, 04/18 THREAD

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 10:49 PM) No offense to anybody, but I can't believe all the threads that just don't care that we dropped yet another game, just because it's early and things will be fine. We sure don't have the one game at a time mentality on this message board. Where's the concern? This team is horses*** right now on a daily basis. Wasn't Rongey your idol 2 seconds ago? Did you read this thread? There's plenty of posters calling this team out. Yeah, I know Price was pitching. But Edwin flat didn't get it done against the Rays' AAA lineup. This game was over after the first inning. Is it over? Of course not. But it's just more of the same with this team. I'm sure will go on an 18-4 run at some point. But this team, save 2005, has never been consistent enough. And, yes, I said team like 98 times. -
This Pacers team is rather annoying. And my annoyance tolerance is quite low right now after Peavy debacle #67.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 09:04 PM) The returns on his last 3 major trades (Swisher/Javy/Peavy) are shockingly bad. I'm obviously not an Ozzie fan, but KW deserves more blame than anyone for the mess this organization is in. Add Jackson to that list. I don't care what anybody says. Other than Jackson winning the CY, ALCS and World Series MVP there's nothing he can do this year that will justify throwing away 5+ years of the considerably cheaper, and probably better, Hudson.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 09:00 PM) What's the difference between 7-9 and 14-17? Because the 2008 White Sox were 14-17. They were also 15-18 and 18-21. Of course, they were only 2.5 games back at the very most during 2008, so naturally it's different because Cleveland and Kansas City are going to continue playing this well all year. Let me add a caveat: no recent history in which they didn't host a play-in game even though they lost the season series to the team they were tied with. OK, that's reaching. I didn't remember them being 3 games under after nearly 40 games. So I'll go with a very limited history. But nobody can deny this has not been a second half team under Ozzie. -
Looks like a full season of Phil Humber. Forget about Sale starting. That ship sailed months ago. And we already have a bullpen that features Pena, Ohman and Gray. What nothing reliever could we bring up from the system to take his place? No organizational depth whatsoever. Tapped out money wise. Attendance has been disappointing. Yeah, not a lot to like right now.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 08:42 PM) Padres sold us a lemon it appears. They had huge concerns over how his arm would hold up, and you got to give them credit for having the guts to trade the face of the franchise. People really think they were really enamored with the garbage bunch of prospects we gave up to get him. "See, we do have a farm!" It was all about getting out from under that contract for a pitcher that has been injury prone since 2008.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 08:36 PM) He threw 15 pitches got lit up and left the game with discomfort. He will be evaluated tomorrow. Oh my goodness. f*** Peavy. They're going to have to do this thing without him. I'm no longer going to check this thread for any bulls*** updates talking about how Peavy is right on schedule. It's futile. This guy is toast. This is our payback for reveling in all Wood/Prior injuries.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 08:28 PM) Well hooray for PER. Chris Paul is a damn good player but no he's not as good as Rose and anyone can throw any damn stat around at me, he's just not. Like Gage said, there's not one nba gm that would trade Derrick Rose for Chris Paul at this point, not one. Lets just say, that the Bulls would not have had the best record in the NBA this season if Chris Paul was their pg instead of Derrick Rose, no chance. Hard to completely dismiss stats when just about every one of them favors Paul. Standard or advanced.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 08:16 PM) Discomfort reason why he was pulled. Time to shut him down until after all star break. What an albatross this has become Wait, what happened?

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 08:23 PM) Can't wait for that 38-13 stretch like last year. I'm sure that will be coming. But seriously, this team f***ing blows. There, I said it. The White Sox have no recent history of starting slow and still getting to the playoffs. They don't deserve the benefit of the doubt there. Just about any team in baseball can play the "it's early" card right now. -

Is there anything more depressing than watching your team get shutout in that joke of a ballpark? How can a ballpark make you tired? I was getting sleepy. -
QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 08:02 PM) CP3 not as good as Rose? What?! He's a much better overall player. Rose is more explosive, but he cannot sniff Paul defensively which is half the game. Paul's lowest PER in a season was 22. Paul not as good as Rose, children please. Paul had two years that at least equaled, if not bettered, either of Nash's MVP seasons. His '08 compares favorably to any of Magic's MVP seasons. People act like the guy is 30 or 31. He'll be 26 next month. I'll say as of right this second that Rose is the better player. Paul has to dominate over a full season (much like Wade did after two injury-plagued seasons in '09) to truly regain the title of best PG in the game.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 07:04 PM) This team looks dead. This one looks to be already over with the way Price is dealing.
