QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 05:40 PM) No I know what your talking about. Not the PG/SF/SG answer, they would all have to do what Pierce/Garnett/Allen did with one basketball. Sacrifice individual success to win like Rose said. Thank you. This is what I was looking for. If Lebron and Wade both think they're getting 30 a night they're crazy. And I would be a tad worried about stunting the growth of Rose, who I think can be every bit as good if not better than Chris Paul and Deron Williams. With that said, I seriously doubt this happens.

lol. I know what positions they would play. But how the hell would they be able to share the rock? Lebron/Wade are two of the most ball-dominant players in the league. And last I checked Rose handled the rock quite a bit.

Will somebody explain to me how on earth Wade/Lebron/Rose would work together?

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) The catalyst for this entire offseason is none other than Taj Gibson. As soon as he proved that he could be a serviceable NBA player, the priorities of this organization shifted. A decent four around Rose and Noah made this roster so much more appealing. Yes, the Bulls have drafted quite well the last few years. That Deng contract still makes me want to hurt small animals, though. He's a solid player. But damn he's overpaid.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 05:18 PM) Not to say that Hendry hasn't really screwed that roster up, but Aramis completely being a suckfest this year has killed them, he drove that offense... IMO I don't think he's fully healed from that shoulder injury, it was nasty and even worse for a power hitter. He had an OPS well over .900 after the all-star break last year. It didn't seem to bother him then. But I agree. He's been arguably the worst everyday player in baseball. But that roster is terrible. Their saving grace is they've actually got some young talent to build around.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 05:16 PM) it kind of depends, what if at 9pm tonight the Bulls can guarantee Bosh and Wade or still be up in the air with LBJ I know. You're right. I don't understand it. Wade is one of the top 5 players in the league. Yet I'd be bummed if we lose out on Lebron.

Am I an idiot if I'd be disappointed if we ended up with Wade instead of Lebron?

I knew the Cubs were mediocre before the season. But wow! I figured they'd at least be in it all year in that division. It's inexcusable the lack of talent they have with their payroll.

Hawkisms
Has anybody ever thought of what Whitesox baseball would be without Hawk? I'm not looking forward to the day Hawk either retires/dies. I'm going to cry like a little b**** when there's no more Hawk.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 05:59 PM) There are a lot worse right fielders than Dye for most of his Sox career here and Quentin. We need some guys who can hit. Our defense has been pretty good since Teahen exited. How can I like like and hate you at the same time? lol.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 05:37 PM) I'll take that over terrible range. Yup. Give me range over arm any day. Between Jermaine Dye from 2006-2009 and CQ this year, I've been scarred for life as far as RF defense goes.

David Ortiz's line since May 1: .299/16/49/.407/.659/1.066. Who was it that said the game was moving away from the traditional DH? But Kotsay can play multiple positions!

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 02:54 PM) They still can't put together a pitching staff. I know Colby Lewis is over achieving but Feldman isn't going to repeat, or come close to what he did last year. Who the hell else is starting for them? I understand it is difficult to recruit pitcher to pitch in Arlington for half the season though. You're right. Lewis/Wilson/Harden is certainly not going to get it done come October. Oswalt or Lee would be a perfect fit. Their farm is as loaded as any in baseball. So they've got plenty of assets. Not sure they can take on the payroll.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 11:28 AM) LOL @ Bill Simmons: sportsguy33 "Hey Joe Johnson - thanks for leading us to that 4-game 2nd round sweep when we lost by 20+ per game. Here's $119 million." I'm lovin' me some Bill Simmons lately. His Sabermetics article a few months back was a masterpiece.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 11:25 AM) At the end of the day, it is going to be hard for any team to turn down the extra 30 or so mill that they could get by getting a full max deal from there existing team. Bosh is the one guy that will probably for sure go, because TOronto will do a S&T. Amare/Johnson aren't worth the money if they are getting full maxes, imo. So the Bulls are going to have to hope LBJ is ok not getting full max because of the plethora in endorsement money he could get. You're evolving.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 11:16 AM) But D-Wade in 2012-2013 is probably going to suck. So would you really be upset if we ended up with Wade because you think he might "suck" in a few years? QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 11:16 AM) The bolded is the key. Healthy Wade is the 3rd or 4th best player in the league (behind Lebron and Kobe, very close with Durant), but you cannot trust him to stay healthy, which is a concern. I agree. The only sure things in this entire FA class are Lebron and Bosh.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 11:12 AM) Am I the only one who sees D-Wade as a VAST downgrade from LeBron? (not that i think anything will happen with Wade, jsut reading a few of the latest posts. No, Lebron is not that much better than a healthy Wade. Healthy obviously being the key word. But I'd take Lebron 10 times outta 10, obviously. But I certainly wouldn't cry if we ended up with Wade and somebody like Boozer.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 11:07 AM) He's just not a very good manager, and he still has an impossibly large ego. I don't see how he'll get fired though since he apparently has even more power than KW does, which is unfortunate. If we miss the playoffs this year, I really can't think of a reason to keep him around though. You have the 2005 pointers who think he should stay as long as he wants, but other than that, good luck defending him. I actually think 2008 is Ozzie's and Kenny's saving grace as much as 2005. Because that showed they could build a winner a year after disaster. Still, the game is evolving. I'm still satisfied with KW as our GM. But I'm not certain this franchise can fully take off with Ozzie as manager.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 11:03 AM) The cast of characters around Lebron really isn't good at all. The fact that they've done all that they have with them is the best argument the Bulls (or the Heat I suppose if Wade stays) can make. They've tried and failed miserably at getting that legit #2 man to pair with Lebron. Larry Hughes? Fail. Mo Williams? Fail. Antwan Jamison? Fail. And they've lacked athletes and multi-skill players for as long as Lebron has been there. The reason they've had the success they've had is because they play in a clearly inferior conference. If they were in the West, they'd be an annual 6-8 seed every year.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 10:31 AM) I wonder why we never went after him. At $6 million, he was very affordable. That's we offered Damon... I swear, this whole rotating DH idea has been a huge disaster. And any supporters of it have to realize that we've been screwed out of Thome, Vlad, and whoever can't play the field because of it. Not that my opinion means a thing, but if we don't win the central, I want Ozzie's ass gone.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 10:20 AM) Joe Johnson expected to re-sign with Atlanta for max deal. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Apt9...agentbuzz063010 Thank you! I want no part of Joe Johnson. Not that he's a bad player. But he's about to get severely overpaid. You're not winning jack with a 2nd-tier SG as your #1 option. Ask the Bucks how they feel about Michael Redd.
