  1. QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 11:50 PM) All illini fans, it never hurts to watch this again. http://home.comcast.net/~voodoomanii/onlin...ge/ILAZ_Med.wmv I witnessed 6 Bulls titles. I've seen the White Sox win a title. I've never in my life gotten as loud, hype, crazy, nuts, ect as I did when the Illini won that game. It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen as far as team sports go. March 26, 2005. I'll never forget. Props to Dee and James on outstanding careers. Good luck in the NBA.
  2. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 03:17 AM) I googled his name. I was looking for an article about him by Peter Gammons or some other sports writer. I seem to remember a story about Jacobsen hitting a few homers well over 500 feet in the minors. Cool. Do you have any idea why it took him so long to make it to the majors?
  3. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 03:14 AM) ROFL, he even has his own fan site: http://www.buckybackers.com/ LOL. Where do you find this stuff? I'm gonna join that club right now.
  4. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 03:10 AM) Excellent point. There's really no reason to dump Borchard now. I remember this dude being EXTREMELY popular among Mariners' fans that season (2004). Fans love him. He hits absolute monster bombs. And it's not like Safeco is an easy park to hit them in. I love this signing. Even if it's just for depth/insurance.
  5. This dude is a monster. LOL@that announcer saying Buckymania.
  6. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 03:03 AM) He's a good option to have at Charlotte if either Konerko or Thome go down, that's for sure. Here are some videos of the homers he hit with the Mariners in 2004: http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/team/player_...layer_id=430944 Thanks
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 02:56 AM) Oh, 1 more interesting thought I just had. Who would you rather have on your team if you could pick between them and their contract details were the same...Ben Wallace or Elton Brand? Brand. Without question.
  8. I just checked out this guy's stats at the Cube. Why did it take him so long to make it to the majors? Except for 1999, he put up some really good numbers in the minors.
  9. Wow. Not a bad signing at all. There's no risk whatsoever.
  10. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 02:43 AM) I second that. It's gonna be so sweet watchin those two hit back to back this year.
  11. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 02:37 AM) If Crede did that he would be the second best third basemen in the entire MLB. He would be second only to A-Rod. I don't expect it to happen at all but it sure would be sweet. Better than Chavez and a healthy Rolen? I see where you're getting at, though.
  12. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 02:25 AM) I don't like him any more than anyone else, but you're fooling yourself if you think Kobe isn't top 5 in MVP right now. Does he have MVP numbers? Without question. But you gotta have the team success to go with it. I can't even remember the last time a player won the MVP and his team didn't win atleast 50 games. The Lakers are all of 1 game over .500. And their schedule is pretty tough the rest of the way. The 5 guys I've mentioned are not only dominating invidually, they've got the team success to go with it.
  13. QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 02:26 AM) I'm not making the connection between Crede's status and Gload making the team. Yeah, I just re-read his post. I don't get where he's comin from there. I agree with the rest of it.
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 05:22 PM) The Bear hater in me wants to see the Lions make a competent Front Office decision. The Lions are basically the Knicks of the NFL. Well, maybe not that bad. But you get what I'm saying.
  15. QUOTE(beck72 @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 07:50 PM) If GLoad sticks, it must mean Crede's back is pretty healthy. Then Mackowiak would get most of his ab's from the OF and 2b. That and Ozzie probably doesn't want Thome playing much 1b. Why put Thome out there when his bat is so, so valuable at the DH? That's exactly how I feel. I really think unless Joe has an outstanding spring, Gload will be on the team. And when I say oustanding, I don't mean Joe has to hit .500. He just has to be consistent, show some patience at the plate and not strikeout 3 out of every 4 at bats.
  16. Jermaine realizes that it's time to let 2005 go. I like it. The fans can savor 2005 for as long as they want. The players realize they almost have to act like 05 never happened.
  17. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 12:04 AM) And for some reason, Crede is the god of the #9 spot. Small sample size but... Joe Crede (career stats batting 9th) 177 AB .305 AVG .374 OBP .571 SLG .944 OPS 13 HR 34 RBI I had no idea Joe had done so well in that spot. I have no problems with the lineup now.
  18. Elton has a serious chance at the MVP if the Clippers can get to 50 wins. My top 5 canidates for MVP to this point are Nash, Brand, Dirk, Billups, Lebron.
  19. I have no idea why Ben Gordon is an option. Anyway, Crawford is the one Knick I can't stand. The guy is a bum. He can't shoot, pass or defend. He never makes an attempt to drive to the basket. Seems like 75% of his shots are 3's. And he doesn't even do that well. He's got the basketball i.q. of a retard. The guy makes no attempt to improve his overall game. He flat sucks.
  20. QUOTE(Wanne @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 11:52 PM) Thanks for posting that. About that 10th annual list of Sports Weekly's 100 Names You Need to Know... I can't believe Cotts isn't on that list. That's a list of prospects who either have yet to reach the majors or have very little major league service time. Cotts doesn't qualify. Although I'm sure after his splendid 2005 season, everybody knows who Cotts is now.
  21. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 10:46 PM) That's because Ohio State won the Big 10 last night. Pretty much.
  22. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) Nova pulls it out in Cinci. Randy Foye was a beast tonight. 25 and 14. And that's 14 rebounds. For a guard.
  23. I feel bad now for making fun of him the other night. I had no idea about the cancer.
  24. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 11:02 PM) I know he's not the greatest of players, but this is a list of guys you root for. I've personally met Crawford when I worked at the United Center and he's probably the nicest guy I've ever met in my life. When he was doing autographs before the free scrimmages they had, he was always the last one signing autographs for little kids when his agent and Bulls personel were telling him it was time to go, he made sure he stayed around long enough so every one of his fans were able to get his signature. He's a cool guy to talk to and very low to earth despite what most Bulls fans think. That doesn't change the fact that he should be using the great handles he has to get to the hole more and to the free throw line more instead of chucking up 3's and that doesn't change the fact that he still needs to learn more on the defensive end. He's just a guy I root for. Sue me. I didn't say he wasn't a good guy. I just hate his game. And the thing that really pisses me off is he acts as if he doesn't have to get better or make any improvements. He comes to every season with the same crap.
  25. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 11:01 PM) I don't see the lot of talent. We don't have a single legit post scorer or 2 guard, and that's 2 pretty damn big holes. We have a lot of solid young players, but the only one I think could turn out really good is Luol Deng. Hinrich, Gordon, Deng and Chandler are all talented players who should only get better as time goes on.
