QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 10:48 PM) I get annoyed as hell when people call players "blue collar" and "hard working" and all that.....those terms mean you have no talent, but hey he plays hard! That's my problem with the Bulls, as long as we are known as a team that plays hard, we will go nowhere because it's a confession that the talent isn't there. I disagree with that. Most realize that the Bulls have a lot of talent. I think when people talk about the Bulls being a hard working team, they mean that they don't rely on a superstar. Basically because they don't have one.

Big Hurt still hurt
This is why I have no problem with the Sox letting Frank go. Did they go about it the right way? That's still up for debate. But there's no way in hell I wanted to go into next season worrying about Frank's health on an everyday basis. He's still my idol, though.

Bucks vs. Bulls + Trade deadline talk
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 06:44 PM) 1)I'm sick of your personal attacks towards everyone who's opinion you don't share. It's getting old now. You don't know everything. Tyson had stretches in the game in which he looked like crap like when he was getting quick cheap fouls. Notice how he only had 2 rebounds in the first half and was basically a ghost on the court til about the 4th? God you're annoying as hell. 2)Tyson Chandler is not god. Stop acting like it. You have no problem with calling other players out, but when it comes to Tyson, he almost could do no wrong. So stop your s*** already. The act is old. Hammer does seem to have almost a blind bias towards defensive minded players. I think he would take Bowen over Lebron.

NFL Off-Season Rumor Mill
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 06:21 PM) Do you really expect the price to be reasonable? Well, he did miss more than half of last season. Maybe the price won't be as high as it would've had he had a healthy year.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 06:09 PM) Raiders didn't franchise him, and he's a FA now. Thanks. Bears should jump on that if the price is reasonable.

QUOTE(illinilaw08 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 05:45 PM) I actually agree with JD on this one. While Weber is a very good coach, Izzo just has had far more success at this point. We can compare Weber to Izzo when he has won a NC and been to a couple more final 4s. Far to early in Weber's career to make a good comparison. Even if the Illini had won it all last year, I still wouldn't rank him over Izzo. The Illini need sustained success before you can really argue who's better.

Does anybody know if the Raiders franchised Charles Woodon? I heard on the radio they didn't. But I can't find anything on the net about it.

Shocked, but Rowand just keeps on truckin'
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) He's got to get to the majors first. He's talented as all hell but he's an injury waiting to happen. Maybe. But with talent like that, I'll take that risk. I'm happy with Thome, though.

Interesting Bobby Jenks Article
QUOTE(hi8is @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 05:18 PM) uhhhh... YEAH your exactly right. I say that not just because of that list. After the Marlins ended the Flubs run in 03, they immediately became my second favorite team. So I follow their system pretty religiously. Heredia and Olson are gonna be studs. And I don't think people realize the sick talent they got back from all the trades they made. Just give them 3 years. They'll be right back in the thick of things.

The Marlins are gonna be sick in 2-3 years.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 05:03 PM) I need to add Nash to my list. I remember catching a couple of his college games in person and he was impressive than too. I love how he makes his teammates so much better. No doubt. He's the MVP for me.

Steinbrenner predicts championship for Yankees
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 03:44 PM) Who are you taking out of the staff to get RJ in though? That's my question. Of all the Yankee pitchers, he was probably the most arguable...but considering USCF and how much the wind benefits RHB and the fact that he's a year older, I'm just not sure I could even see him putting up a sub-4.00 ERA. Also, from how Chacon pitched in the second half of last year, one could argue him over Vazquez or McCarthy - same thing with Wang. I just so happen to love Vazquez having looked at his peripherals from the past couple years and think he is in for a very good year with the Sox, so I'm only ever going to argue for him. McCarthy one could argue over, but it would be hard to with no bias. I wouldn't take RJ at this point in is career over any of our guys. No bias there. Now if we're talking about even a 35 or 36 year old Randy, I would take him over any of our guys.

Steinbrenner predicts championship for Yankees
QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 02:55 PM) I'd still take Randy on our staff, at least for this year (who knows how many he has left). Most people think he had an off year last year, and he still finished 17-8 with a 3.79 ERA, 211 strikeouts, and a WHIP around 1.12. I know the record is a bit inflated, but that's still pretty solid for about 98% of the pitchers in the league. Well, he had a dominant September that made his overall numbers look pretty solid. But for he most part, he wasn't typical Randy Johnson. His era was well over 4 for most of the year. He gave up more hits last year than any year before that in a while. Part of that obviously came from pitching in the al. He's still plenty good. He's just not what he once was. And he's a year older now.
