Konerko almost has to be back for this team to really be better. I hope they get it done.

White Sox acquire Jim Thome per ESPNnews
QUOTE(sircaffey @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 03:02 PM) Anyone else think this makes Konerko's decision easier meaning a decision to stay? With Thome hitting in front of behind him , he's gotta love that. I mentioned that earlier. It can no doubt only be a positive.

Thome has been givin it to the Sox Kobe to Katelyn style, home or away, for as long as I've been a Sox fan. I have no doubts he'll put up great numbers if healthy.

ARow Appreciation Thread
Arow, I'm really, really sad to see this day come. In a few shorts years you have easily become one of my favorite players. Not just for what you do on the field, which is damn good, but it seems like you're such a cool, no nonense, down to earth type of guy. I absolutely love the way you play. You play the same way no matter the situation. I'll never, ever forget you crashing into the wall during the 14-2 blowout of the Red Sox. How many guys would risk that in a game where his team was up 12 runs? Not many. I wish you well in Philly. I will definitely follow what you're doing over there. The Philly fans are in for a special treat. And last but not least, THANK YOU for your part in bringing a world championship to Chicago and Sox fans everywhere. I'll never, ever forget you. White Sox acquire Jim Thome per ESPNnews
Anybody thinks this trade is made if Rowand had, had a 2004 like season in 05? Not that it really matters. Just curious.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) Let's remember the Podzilla thread before we make any judgements. Good point. I'm never, ever gonna doubt Kenny or Ozzie again, no matter what happens in the future. I'm dissapointed for emotional reasons.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) This also likely signals Frank Thomas has played his last game in a Sox uniform. It sure does. Now i'm really depressed.

White Sox acquire Jim Thome per ESPNnews
QUOTE(Pierzynski 12 @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 02:28 PM) Yea when he's going to make a trade like this. It's not a bad trade production wise. A healthy Thome Kills Rowand. But man, Arow is just such a good guy. A great character guy. He seems like he would be so cool to hang out with. But this is a business, I guess.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 02:26 PM) If that is true, that is huge. PK can still be in a sox unifrom. Maybe. They can defintely afford PK now. I think it's gonna come down to years. I would have to think PK is giddy at the idea of having a guy like Thome hitting behind him. I like our chances of signing him a lot more now. But Arow

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 02:24 PM) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Can't even imagine how Rowand is feeling, or guys like AJP and Joe. Exactly. Arow will always have a special place with me. I'm thinking of getting a Rowand jersey right this second.

I always say to myself to never become emotionally attached to players. But damn, I seriously feel like crying. This just doesn't feel right.

Bob Nightengale: Sox Tell Phills They Want Thome
QUOTE(S720 @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 08:12 AM) Per Bruce Levine this morning, Phillies want Rowand AND Contreras/BMAC for Jim Thome. If this is the case, I say, "THE HELL WITH YOU! I'll stick with my players then." I think nothing of this. I have complete and total faith in Kenny. He wouldn't even consider a deal like this.

Garnett to be dealt?
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 01:33 AM) I'd give up the whole team and players from other teams if I could... There really isn't a single Bulls player that I find not expendable when it comes to getting someone like KG. What's the point of having KG and crap?

Bulls @ Sonics
Nice win by the Bulls tonight. Sweetney is such a beast.
-
Drew Brees
21/24, 265 yards and 4 td's. And it's not even halftime yet. I'm glad none of the teams i'm facing in fantasy this week have this guy.

BEARS vs Panthers
Geez, the Bears are on the front page at yahoo.com. espn.com and cnnsi.com.

Counting on Wood to be healthy is "stupid"
QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) That probably signals the beginning of the end for Wood on the northside. Not with that contract. Even the Yankees wouldn't touch it.

BEARS vs Panthers
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Nov 20, 2005 -> 04:18 PM) The 01 team got every concieveable bounce and break they possibly could have during the regular season. To quote the great Ozzie Guillen. I'd rather be lucky than good. You're right though. They did get a lot of breaks.

BEARS vs Panthers
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 20, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) The 05 defense is a lot better. We have a much stronger secondary, and a superior defensive front. However, that team may have had a better linebacking core, but I think this Urlacher is >>>> the Urlacher from that year and I like Briggs almost as much as I liked Colvin (in fact I think Briggs is a better all around lb) and Hillmeyer isn't as talented as Holdman was, but he seems to be a better player. I disagree. I think it's better, but it's not by much. In 01, the Bears allowed a league low 12.7 points per game. They were second in run defense and 4th in sacks.

BEARS vs Panthers
QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Nov 20, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) this team > 01 team And it isnt even close. I don't know about that. I'd take Jim Miller over Orton. A-train had a fabolous rookie season. And I don't think the 01 defense is as good as the 05 d, but it's close.
