  1. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) Politte gave up one HR before the All Star Break. He has given up 6 homeruns since then. I think someone figured something out, or he has lost some of his edge. Maybe Detroit just owns him. D.J. even mentioned that Cliff isn't throwing as many fastballs as he was before. He's been relying more on sliders and changeups.
  2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 07:49 PM) Good work with that clutch hitting offense. Great work in fact. You handed them the game. 2 f***ing game lead because we couldn't get a damn hit with guys on 2nd and 3rd, yet f***ing again. Second time in 5 days. It's amazing how bad we've gotten situational hitting wise.
  3. They totally deserved to lose this one.
  4. I can't believe how poor the situational hitting has become.
  5. Now can we please find a way to score one damn run without a hr?
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 07:27 PM) If you blow a chance like that in the 8th inning of a tie game, you're just asking to lose. Exactly. I'll be shocked if Detroit doesn't score atleast one this inning.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 07:25 PM) For those that can't watch: how pissed was Hawk last inning? He wasn't really pissed, just dissapointed.
  8. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 06:10 AM) Is it more important for them, or is it more important for you? Both.
  9. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 04:23 AM) Like they say, it doesn't matter HOW you get there, so long as you get there. Winning the division isn't automatically going to give us a better chance at making the World Series than if we win the Wild Card. We have a better record in away games to home games anyway. True, but I still think it's important for the confidence and psyche of the team to go in as divison winners. We've had the lead from day one. I think it would take away a little something to back in through the WC. To win the division, especially after everything that's happened the last six weeks, would be an absolute shot in the arm for this team heading into the playoffs. And, I don't care what our road record is, I would most certainly rather open up with games 1 and 2 at the Cell than games 1 and 2 in Boston, New York, Or Anaheim.
  10. This thing needs to seriously hurry up and get resolved. This is a huge year in the development of this young team. We don't need Currygate as a daily distraction.
  11. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 04:16 AM) And some more math; It's nice to have that in our back pocket.
  12. I forbid myself to talk about any possible playoff match-ups until we officially clinch this thing.
  13. QUOTE(beck72 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 06:50 PM) Actually, the Sept. pitching ERA is close to the season ERA. That maybe, but Buehrle, Garland, and Garcia clearly haven't pitched like they did in the first half.
  14. I wish I could, but work won't allow it. But I'll be there in spirit.
  15. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) We're playing right around .500 ball since then, Cleveland is just playing out of their minds. I don't know how you can call it a choke but whatever I think we're all tired of talking about this subject anyways. Lets just win the division and not worry about it. No argument here.
  16. This game answers nothing. Nice performance by Mark, though.
  17. If the Sox fail to make the playoffs after sporting a 15 game lead just 6 weeks ago, what else would you call it? It's all good, though, I think we're gonna hold on and win this thing.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 07:04 PM) Disagree, people don't remember how you got into the playoffs, they just remember what you do in the playoffs and that you made it. Agreed. This is Chicago for crying out loud. Will take it anyway we can get it.
  19. Still in shock over this one. Huge break for us.
  20. I'm not gonna get too excited over Garcia and Buehrle's performances the last couple days. The Twins flat out can't hit. Will know if those two are back on track when they start shutting down some legit line-ups. Anyway, great win today. The Sox did exactly what they had to do after the bad loss on Thursday. Now we've got to take 3 of 4 from the Tigers and hope the Indians lose atleast once to the D-rays, which is more than possible. 5!
  21. lol@the name Boof. Anyways, this is obviously a HUGE game. Will the April, May, June, July Mark Buehrle, please stand up?
  22. Steff, babydoll, Happy 25th b-day. Lets go drinking some time. I know were the best bars are.
  23. Has Carl the "cancer" returned?
  24. I'm just glad Ozzie FINALLY decided to shake up the line-up a little bit.
  25. Basically, we need to take 5 of our next 6 games and hope Cleveland drops a game or 2. If we go into the last series against Cleveland tied or behind, I think we're done. No reason we shouldn't take atleast 5 of these next 6. The Twins have flat out no offense and aren't playing for anything. The Tigers have been the worst team in baseball the last month or so. And we won't have to see Bonderman, either. We control our own fate.
