Crowd Today
But I thought the Sox couldn't perform in front of big crowds?

We have great pitching
Buehrle finished the season very strong. He's said himself he's feeling as good as he's felt in a long time. I think he'll rise to the challenge.

Bunt on David Wells
QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 08:34 PM) We can win the first three. It's game four I would be worried about if we somehow fail to win game 2 or 3. Schilling vs. Garland in Fenway is the only glaringly negative matchup for the WSox that I can see. Schilling is simply a name at this point. He's been awful all year. And like somebody has mentioned, we've had no problems roughing him up this year. Now, I'm not saying he's not capable of coming up with a big game performance, but this isn't a negative match-up at all.

Boston @ Chicago - ALDS Game 2
For whatever it's worth, Wells has given up a TON of hits this year. 220 in only 184 1/3 innings pitched. His BAA is very poor as well. I'm not saying he's not capable of pitching a good game, but he's been hit this year, hard.

An open message to 'Papi' & Manny:
Lets just hope Manny doesn't get a chance to act a fool this series.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX PLAYOFF WINNER
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 06:34 PM) If you want a good laugh, take a look at this game thread from a carmine fan board. It's like watching a fuse burn slowly toward a crate of dynamite. Linky Good lord! They're absolutely raping Clement over there.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX PLAYOFF WINNER
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 05:39 PM) I find it funny just how little baseball 'experts' know about the White Sox. How about Sutcliffe saying we had a great defensive outfield?

AND THATS A WHITE SOX PLAYOFF WINNER
QUOTE(UC76 @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 05:27 PM) I hate David Wells with a burning passion. I want to see him roughed the f*** up hardcore. Nice win today. We can definitely get to Wells tomorrow night. Lets just hope Mr. Buehrle is on his game.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX PLAYOFF WINNER
QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 05:25 PM) I don't care if they did come back, this is a different year, this is the year of the White Sox and they won't lay down just because they killed Boston today. The White Sox will keep on fighting no matter what and thats why this game was so important. Lots of confidence can go a long way. Calm down man..lol. I'm on your side. I'm just saying, these guys know how to come back.

article on the sox
I hate bandwagoners, but I welcome all of them. The more people that show up, the better for the organazation.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX PLAYOFF WINNER
I'm in f***in awe right now. What a show put on by our Sox. I almost s*** my pants when Pods hit that 3 run bomb. But lets remember, these guys came back from 0-3 to the Yankees last year. In 03, they were down 0-2 to the A's and came back and won in 5. This is just one game. These guys know how to come back.

Boston @ Chicago - ALDS Game 1
I'm predicting a 100 page thread by the time tomorrow's game is over.

It's like Christmas Eve!
I haven't been this nervous since right before I lost my virginity.

Guess who's throwing out the first pitch?
QUOTE(Mercy! @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 01:16 AM) Not trying to rain on anyone's parade - but wouldn't Mayor Daley have been a logical choice? Nope. He was jockin the Cubs 2 years ago. Frank is the perfect choice.

Curry Traded
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) I like Sweetney, he put up 8.4 points and 5.4 boards in only 19.6 minutes last year. Yeah, he played pretty well when he got some run. He had a strong last month if I remember correctly. He's got a huge frame. I think he's like 270 at 6'8?

Curry Traded
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 08:15 PM) I'm sure they'd have to be conditional...I mean, would you deal 2 #1 picks for Curry? Although, I'm not sure I'd put it past Thomas. If atleast one of those 2 picks aren't a first rounder, this is a s***ty deal for the Bulls.

Curry Traded
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) MSG SportsDesk just reported we received Eddy Curry and Antonio Davis and Chicago got Tim Thomas, Mike Sweetney, Jermaine Jackson and 2 picks! First round picks? And are they conditional?

Curry Traded
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) Doesn't JR own the Bulls? Why does huge Bulls news come out when the Sox are in the playoffs? Jordan retired in 93, now this. lol. This news isn't anywhere close to as huge as when Jordan retired.

Matchups Could Favor Sox
I'm feeling better and better about this series by the minute. I didn't think I would be this confident.

C.C. Sabathia
QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) Who cares now, were in they're not. I know. I just found it funny that he was a such a cocky mofo and now has to sit at home with the rest of them.
-
C.C. Sabathia
I heard that Sabathia was just recently on the Best Damn Sports show period and said that he wasn't worried about the White Sox. He said he was worried about the other teams, but not the White Sox. Well, he doesn't have to worry about anybody now. Here's to you C.C. :finger

Here's a Toast
QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 06:45 PM) I'd just like to hope the following individuals enjoy the playoffs. Jason Schmidt. Eric Chavez. Dmitri Young. A.J. Burnett. The Devil Rays GM Chuck Lamar. Ken Griffey. Wes Helms. And every other player we spent so much time discussing prior to the trade deadlines. Jay Mariotti, of course. And as always, every Cub fan in the world.
