Sox vs. Royals 9-7-05
QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) Why do you blame Ozzie? It's Marte who f***ed up. He can't pitch to the fricking Royals??? Throw it over the plate you bum. Marte has been struggling for a while now.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 08:37 PM) Lets just be happy that personal attacks aren't allowed on this board now. I seriously want to call Marte something right now. But I'll respect the new rules of the board.

I guess we can give the offense a break tonight. They've been raking it so far this month. But they better destroy this J.P. Howell guy tomorrow. Dudes got an era over 7.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 08:22 PM) For everyone that wanted Billy Wagner....he just lost two straight games in what could easily be the Phillies biggest games of the season. I'd still take him without hesitation.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 08:20 PM) Anyone else worried it might have been a blooper over the infield? Yeah. I thought that when it was hit. Not even close.

Jose can't ever get out of the 7th inning unscathed. Anyway, he did a nice job tonight.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) Contreras has made some very good pitches in critical situations tonight. Yup. He's really turned the corner. Usually Jose is either really good or really bad. He hasn't been really bad, but he hasn't been really good, either. Yet, he's gotten the job done tonight.

QUOTE(kevin57 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) what about our offense so far? more good pitching from them or bad hitting by us? We've had plenty of chancs to break this game open. Just very, very poor execution tonight. Thankfully, we're playing the Royals and still have a 1-0 lead.

QUOTE(kevin57 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 07:44 PM) Just got back from my jog... 1-0 Contreras must be awesome...again. Is K.C. pitching that well, or are we back in "August" mode of offense? He hasn't been close to awesome. Lets just say that we're very fortunate to be playing the Royals tonight.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 07:43 PM) That was Contreras' best inning. Ozzie better watch it though. The 7th inning seems to be a big trouble spot for the Count. He's only thrown 77 pitches. Ozzie will leave him out there for atleast one more inning.

Sox vs. Royals 9-7-05
Best inning by far for Jose. Now, we really need to get another run or two.
-
Sox vs. Royals 9-7-05
C'mon Paulie. We need some more runs.
-
Sox vs. Royals 9-7-05
So in 5 innings, Jose has given up 7 hits, 3 walks, a hit by pitch, a wild pitch, and an error. This is one of the ugliest 5 inning shut-outs I've ever seen. GREAT play by Dye to get Sweeney.

Sox vs. Royals 9-7-05
I guarantee we're gonna need more than one run tonight. That is unless Jose settles down in the next couple innings.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 07:16 PM) It would be a nice time for Pods to hit his first homer. Overrated left fielders don't hit hr's.
