Finley to Spurs
QUOTE(OilCan @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 09:25 AM) Brent Barry, Manu Ginobili and Michael Finley can spell Bruce Bowen at the 3. Talk about flexibility. Don't forget to add Devin Brown, a San Antonio/UTSA native, to the mix as well. Brown is a RFA that would look DAMN good in a Bulls uniform, IMO. Scoring, defense and size (6'5"). Maybe Eddie Basden will be a Devin Brown clone. If that's the case, WOW. And...the Spurs drafted Romain Sato from Xavier last year that spent the whole year on IR for an "injury". 8 guards. Definitely bet that one or two will be traded. Having a Devin Brown-Ben Gordon battle at the 2 would be very interesting. Devin Brown will probably end up with Utah. I've heard rumors of the Spurs looking to move Barry. They would like another front-court guy. I heard of a Barry to the Nuggets for Edjuardo Najera swap. That would be a good trade for both teams.

Jerry Rice retiring
The greatest wr to ever live. It's not even close. It will be a long time before we see another Rice.

I'm kinda sad that the season is over.

She looks like dog food.

Juan Uribe
After nearly 5 months of wondering what the hell was wrong with Uribe, he finally looks to be putting it together. Juan's hitting a sizzling .500, 14 for 28, in his last 7 games. I don't think it's any coincidence that the offense has been much better since he's been hitting. A hot Uribe at the bottom of the order will be so huge down the stretch and into the playoffs.

Bad BMac blessing in disguise ?
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) Ozzie will ride the hot hand. If Duque struggles down the stretch and Brandon pitches like he has since being recalled, it will be a no doubter in my book. All that said, I don't think Duque will stink. I also don't think Duque will be making any starts, unless the match-ups favor it. Things could change though, Count could get shelled his next couple starts and Duque could be the favorite. Who knows. You could be right. But still, there's no way he would be left off the playoff roster. That's all i'm saying.

Bad BMac blessing in disguise ?
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) It wasn't the Marlins that put the kabosh on the trade, I think the Sox backed away when they realized Burnett didn't want to resign here. I heard differently. But you could be right. Either way, I'm glad we've got B-mac.

Bad BMac blessing in disguise ?
QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 01:40 PM) If i'm KW i'm seriously considering leaving El Duque off the playoff roster... Make him like the Count's personal pitching coach or something... Seriously if BMAC keeps this up Orlando will be out of a job next year... Ohh and to whoever thinks that we should keep El Duque instead of Count.... Why on earth wouldn't you want to keep the guy who's stayed healthy... at least you know with El Duque that theres always a willing trade partner in the Yankees for him... Besides that Count has the stuff to dominate teams, El Duque has to rely on his brains but even then the stuff sometimes just isn't there to back him up... BMAC.... YES!!!! The main reason they brought Duque over was for his experience in the post-season. No way in hell they would even consider leaving him off the playoff roster.

Bad BMac blessing in disguise ?
I'm in total awe of this kid right now. 14 2/3 shutout innings against the two best offenses in the American League, ON THE ROAD. The Marlins better hope they can resign Burnett, or else they're gonna look awfully foolish.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!
This was a HUGE win. For one, the Magic number is now 17. Two, this gives us a full 5 game lead on Boston for homefield advantage through the AL playoffs. Three, it proves that B-mac's performance against Texas was no fluke. This kid is the real f***in deal. And, of course, we're 5-0 this month.

Neal Cotts
Not to mention the evolution of Jon Garland. With a little bit of better luck, he would already be at 20 wins by now.

Hopefully Lance works out
QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 06:59 PM) Lance got hit around again tonight. Will take his 3rd loss against 1 win as his ERA moves to 4.58. Anyone else worried that our top pick in the draft is struggling in high-A ball after being through the college system? He's not really struggling. He's was pitching very well before these last two starts.

Where will Sox will rank in minor league talent?
I'm not an expert on this, but we were ranked 12th coming into this season. With guys like Young, Haigwood, Haeger, Liotta, and Gio having great years, we should only go up. I'd say top 10 atleast.

A wonderful performance by Jon today. Ozzie had faith in him to get it done, and he came through.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!&a
QUOTE(WinninUgly @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 03:44 PM) Prediction: C - Widger 1B - Gload 2B - Harris SS - Blum 3B - Ozuna RF - Perez CF - Rowand LF - Pods DH - Everett SP - McCarthy RP - Sanders Closer - Jenks I'm hoping Ozzie doesn't go that route. This is a big game as far as homefield in the playoffs go.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!&a
QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) No; a team 30+ games over .500 should be able to beat a team that came into the series 15 games back and was consistently sub-mediocre. That's not news. The other way around certainly is. I don't hear anybody screaming World Series because we beat the Tigers. So chill out.
-
AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!&a
Just a flawless display of great baseball by the Sox. Great pitching, great defense, and, yes, even great hitting. For those who are saying "it's just the Tigers" that doesn't matter. Taking 4 straight from anybody is an accomplishment.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
I'd only cheer for the Indians if the Angels are able to win the al west. If that happens, we would play them in the first round. If the Indians win the wc, they would play Boston. What if the Tribe were able to pull off an upset? If we take the Angels, we play the Tribe in the ALCS. I like that match-uo a hell of a lot better than Boston or Oakland.
-
AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Another thing of beauty. We've played flawless ball in this series. The offense is really coming together. Uribe looks so much more confident the last week. Now it's on Jon to finish em off.

Jon owes us one after the Texas debacle. I think he'll come through.

Gio
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 01:11 AM) He might get invited to spring training but he definitely has no shot to make the team next year. What is a realistic goal and possibility is him starting for double A which would be very advanced for a kid his age. I think they'll start him out in high A again, if he dominates the first month or so, there's a very good chance they'll move him to B-ham. I just don't want to see him rushed. With Buehrle, Garcia, Garland, B-mac, and one of Jose/El Duque, there's no need to rush the kid.

Daigle? CL MVP
QUOTE(daa84 @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) follows in credes footsteps....not a good thing Except, Daigle is 26 and hasn't proven a thing outside of high A. Don't compare him to Crede.

Just back from th game
Every game is important from this point out. Getting off to a good start this month was critical. I think we need to see a sustained stretch of dominance again before we can say this team is "back."
