September 5, 200520 yr Whats with all the damn Iguchi errors of late... he had his break now he needs to stop messing up.
September 5, 200520 yr Wow. Just wow. Our 6th Starter -- 6th!!! -- shuts down the best offense in all of baseball. Impressive. I don't remember where BMAC was on August 31; is there any chance we could put him on the playoff roster?
September 5, 200520 yr the sox proving that they're back...........not just against the tigers and royals.
September 5, 200520 yr Brandon McCarthy. 14 2/3 innings. Against first, the best power hitting lineup in baseball, and second, against the best overall lineup in baseball. 0 runs. 5 hits. Brandon...wow. Well done kiddo. I can't wait to see you do this over a full year. Oh, and welcome back BMac's changeup...the pitch that disappeared in June! Man, that was fun to watch.
September 5, 200520 yr QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 02:22 PM) Wow. Just wow. Our 6th Starter -- 6th!!! -- shuts down the best offense in all of baseball. Impressive. I don't remember where BMAC was on August 31; is there any chance we could put him on the playoff roster? Actually I'm pretty sure he was on the 25, so yes.
September 5, 200520 yr BMac what a performance and a showcase of years to come....star in the making.
September 5, 200520 yr This was as good of a performance as I've seen all year by the Sox, outside of the base running blunders. McCarthy pitched a great game, and really did a great job of keeping hitters off-balanced.
September 5, 200520 yr Great team win . BMac just outta sight ! There is no I in Team-0 Uribe unstoppable lately. Another Paulie pop !
September 5, 200520 yr QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 01:37 PM) Great team win . BMac just outta sight ! There is no I in Team-0 Uribe unstoppable lately. Another Paulie pop ! Uribe has been a big lift on our offense. Instead of not turning the lineup around, Uribe is getting on base and setting up the top of our lineup.
September 5, 200520 yr QUOTE(bulokis @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) Uribe has been a big lift on our offense. Instead of not turning the lineup around, Uribe is getting on base and setting up the top of our lineup. This is a whole different team with a hot Uribe. An entirely different lineup. It goes from being an average/mediocre lineup to a good lineup...possibly a very good one.
September 5, 200520 yr One out in the ninth for Detroit - tying runs on 1st and 2nd. Top of the order up - Shelton pinchitting.
September 5, 200520 yr QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) One out in the ninth for Detroit - tying runs on 1st and 2nd. Top of the order up - Shelton pinchitting. Oh well - Shelton hits into a game ending double play.
September 5, 200520 yr Indians win. Another heartless effort by the Tigers. I'm not sure how their manager has a job after another poor season with seemingly good talent.
September 5, 200520 yr McCarthy with two outstanding, consecutive efforts. He's been a very nice contributor down the strech here.
September 5, 200520 yr This was a HUGE win. For one, the Magic number is now 17. Two, this gives us a full 5 game lead on Boston for homefield advantage through the AL playoffs. Three, it proves that B-mac's performance against Texas was no fluke. This kid is the real f***in deal. And, of course, we're 5-0 this month.
