8/21 Games
QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 22, 2005 -> 08:49 AM) Article up at milb.com about Young: http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/new..._milb&fext=.jsp I was just thinking to myself that Young should be getting more love from BA. This will do for now.

Yankees could provide lesson to 2005 White Sox
I remember that very well. The Yankees were flat out playing horrible going into the playoffs. They were on a 100 win pace. They ended up with I believe 85.

Sox v. Yanks 8/19/05 Official Game Thread
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 09:33 PM) Look at the pitching numbers the first half of the season compared to the second half of the season. I think that's the biggest difference that has happened to this team. Not really. Our team era is 3.80 since the break. That's not as good as it was before the break. But that's hardly a huge drop off.

A.J. Burnett
Burnett's last seven starts: 7-0, 0.75 era. Remember when some Sox fans were saying he wasn't that much better than Contreras?

8/17 Games
I wish the Bham's came on TV. I'd love to replace them with the Sox at the moment.
-
Raul Ibanez
There's gonna be a lot of dissapointed people once Aug 31st has passed and we have the exact same team we have now.

Sox need Griffey, NOW!
If I see one more Griffey thread I'm gonna hurl.

Nice Job Jenks!
Don't forget about Vizcaino. He pitched 2 pretty strong innings himself.

8/15 Games
Honel has been dominating of late. This is like 5 really good starts in his last 6, correct?

Sox Favorite to win WS
QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 10:56 PM) Think it copyright infringment if it is cut and paste here. It is just 100 words on how the Sox can win, saying they will only go as far as their pitching will take them cu the lineup isn't dominating. Has paragraphs for about 8 teams like that. That sounds more realistic. Anybody that's watched this team since the break can't possibly think they're the favorites to get past the first round, let alone the favorites to get to the World Series.

Will the Sox land Griffey?
QUOTE(whitesox91403 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 11:32 PM) Not trying to get anyone's hopes up, just repeating what was told to me. I haven't seen or heard it anywhere. So, we'll see what happens. No disrespect, but what does repeating something somebody told you gonna accomplish besides getting people's hopes up?

Hawk & Mariotti War Continues
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 11:16 PM) Hawk was over the top tonight and wrong. I honeslty hope Mariotti rips him a new one. Mariotti has actually been supportive of the White Sox these past few weeks. He also said stupid s*** about where would Griffey play again too. Here's hoping that you're gone Hawk. Here's to hoping that you go back to the Cubs board where you belong.

Will the Sox land Griffey?
No! I just don't see it happening. This has been easily the worst market in atleast a decade for buyers. Even the worst teams, teams that haven't done s*** in years, aren't making any kinda moves this season. Kenny has been able to make multiple impact trades about every year he's been here. But, in a year where we appear to have our best shot at a World Series since 1994, the only move he's been able to pull off is Ryan Meaux for Geoff Blum. That says it all right there. I got majorly burned at the trade deadline thinking that we were gonna make a big move or two. I'm not about to make the same mistake twice. I suggest everybody forget about Griffey. It ain't happenin.

Chris Young Wins BC Powder Hitter of the Week
I hope and pray we can hang on to this kid. But, if he's what it's gonna take to get Griffey to the Southside, so be it.

Gamethread sunday vs sawx 8/14/05
We really need this one. Hopefully Hernandez doesn't give up his usual 3 or 4 runs the first two innings.

Despite Best Record, White Sox Still Have To Prove
QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 10:57 PM) 7-16 this year vs. potential playoff teams 4-3 against the Angels. 10-3 against the Indians. 2-1 against the Yankees. 2-4 against the Red Sox. 2-7 against the A's. That comes out to 20-18 against teams with a legitimate shot at the playoffs. I don't know where you got 7-16?

The Continuing Decline & Fall of Mark Buehrle
Oh c'mon guys. Just trying to cheer everybody up after a tough loss. This thread still makes me laugh. In no way shape or form am I trying to diss Buehrle by rehashing this thread.

White Sox vs Red Sox - 8/12/05
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) He had that game against KC where some how none of those runs were unearned. Very perceptive.

I'm sorry. I couldn't resist.

Angels-A's 8/11 finish
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 10:15 PM) That's true, but I think everyone here would rather play the Angels over the A's. You shut down Vlad and Anderson over a series, the Angels don't really have much firepower left in their lineup. And Lackey and Washburn would hardly worry you in a playoff series. No arguement here. I'd rather play the Angels any day of the week. But i'm not gonna s*** my pants if we have to play Oakland, either.

Angels-A's 8/11 finish
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) You know what? I really don't have a clue. At least we don't have to face Buehrle/Garland/Garcia.
