Bulls @ knicks.
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 08:48 PM) Thought you Bulls fans would like to know...Pacers are tied for the 5th spot in the East now. You may be playing us... Yup, we've got a full 2 game lead over the Wizards and Pacers for the 4th seed. I've got to give the Pacers big props. For them to be where they are with all the crap they've gone though is amazing.

Bulls @ knicks.
QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) If the bulls win tonight the knicks will be officially elimated from the playoffs. Wow. And the team payroll is like 110 million. Yo, Qwerty. Is Othella playing tonight?

Carlos Lee
This is like a carbon copy of 2004.

Jay Williams coming back to the NBA next year?
No thanks. He's done.

Opening Day at Wrigley!
Ryan Dempster is the answer at closer.

What is wrong with Joe Crede?
Joe has never been the same since that awesome August/Sept stretch in 2002. I'm sure everybody was thinking all-star after that.

I just sat in disbelief
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 08:57 AM) Hermanson will be closing by May 1st. Book it. I hope not. Not because I don't think he can do the job, but that means Shingo would've failed miserably in the closers role.

I just sat in disbelief
QUOTE(Yossarian @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 08:54 AM) I completely agree. I'm still upset and churning over that game. A sweep would have been a great way to start the season. I still question Ozzie's baseball iq at times. I wonder if he's gonna be the guy to get this team to the next level. And i'm not just saying this because of what happened yesterday.
-
What do you expect (Realistically) of El Duque?
Seven strong innings, hopefully. We're definitely gonna need it.
-
I just sat in disbelief
As somebody mentioned in another thread. We seem to have one of these types of heartbreakers every year the first 2 or 3 games. A win tonight over the Twins will make me forget about yesterday.

Prior Rocked in AAA Start
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 12:24 AM) I think those games are meaningless for stats. It's proably all about working on stuff and really how you feel the next morning. I agree. We should know tomorrow the deal with Prior.

Sox vs. Hostess Cakes: 4/8/05 Game Thread
I agree with Qwerty. As far as today's game, i'd be surprised if we won. Hopefully El Duque can follow the script and give us another quality start. The offense obviously has to be a little more consistent.

Paulie and Dye's homerun power
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 01:29 AM) I'd doubt that. Dye would probably hit around 30 HR's I'd say, sumwhere in b/w 25 and 35 I'd be pleased him, so long as he can about .280, and cut down on the K's. Konerko should have about 40 again, but he doesn't have as much protection in the lineup as last season, but it shouldn't affect him greatly. Yeah, I just thought about it. I'll go more towards 70. Which would be fantastic.
-
Paulie and Dye's homerun power
I predict close to 80 hr's between the two of them this season.

Sox vs Tribe 4-7-2005 game thread.
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 11:06 PM) Indians vs. Sox 4/7/2005 vs. Cliff Lee vs. Sox last season: Jose Contreras vs. Indians last season: 5 Starts 2 Starts 26.2 IP 14.2 IP 2-2 Record 1-1 Record 7.09 ERA 1.26 ERA 31 Hits 11 Hits 21 ER 2 ER 7 HR 0 HR 13 BB 2 BB 20 SO 15 SO GO SOX!!! Wow, he pitched pretty good against these guys last year. That definitely gives me a little more confidence in him.

Sox vs Tribe 4-7-2005 game thread.
We should know after the first couple innings if Jose has it or not.

Flubbs getting hammered!
This is kinda how they started the season last year. Wood and Prior on the dl. A strong opening day win on the road, only to lose the next 2 games. The sad thing is, "atleast for Cub fans", they're not as good as last years team.

Bulls @ knicks.
I hope Eddy is back.

2 Spot
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 08:17 PM) One of the main reasons I wanted the sox to sign Iguchi was to have the ability to move aaron down in the order. I personally love the depth and balance of that order right now, I mean aaron in the 6 hole, aj in the 7 spot and juan in the 9 spot, I mean this team has the ability to score runs from any point of the lineup. Almost everyone looked good at the plate today I think this slump might have really been for a game and 8 innings and you'll see the offense come out with a much stronger day tomorrow. I couldn't agree with this post more.

Garcia.
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) Anyone who gives up only 2 runs in 6 innings of worked deserves to win IMO. Quality start = good outing. Especially against an offense as potent as Cleveland's. But like somenbody mentioned earlier, we know Garica and Buerhle will be solid. Time to see what the rest of the rotation looks like. Crosses fingers.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) I didn't see a replay but I have a hard time believing AD put up that short of a shot w/o a foul... I saw it. It was a horrible call. But i'm not complaining.

Bulls@ magic.
Yo Dbaho, just wanted to say how sorry I am that you've had to put up with Steve Francis for a whole year. He has the bball iq of a pizza.

Bulls@ magic.
Very good win tonight. This team frustrates the hell out of me with some of the stupid s*** they do. But they're young, gotta take the good with the bad. Tyson was an absolute beast on the boards. We are now in sole possesion of the 4th seed.
