  1. This is our chance to seperate ourselves from the rest of the division.
  2. I just hope we don't lay an egg tomorrow. We have a history of coming out the next day flat as f*** after puting up a ton of runs the night before.
  3. I agree totally. I want to see a STREAK. You know the one we went on last year? When we won 13 of 14 in July and blew right past the Royals and Twins into first place. I know this team can do it. We need Garcia to step up with an "ace" type performance tomorrow. Send a message to the tribe that "you're not ready for us yet".
  4. I knew this thread would pop up. I didn't see the game. But this has got to be the best anyone has ever seen from Buehrle. I hope he can pitch more like that. I want to see Mark kick it up to an "ace" type of level more consistently.
  5. Cubs win. But so do the Cards . Woody Williams was outstanding. If he and Morris get it going they'll be unstoppable.
  6. LMAO. That's hilarious.
  7. Damn. I didn't even see that. That's f***ed up. But god knows the Slubs need all the help they can get.
  8. And that my friend is why the game is not played on paper. As a Sox fan you should know that better than most. As far as nobody predicting Prior or Wood goin down. Well Wood has an injury history. And that's before Dusty. No shock there. Prior goin down? Considering all the pitches he threw last year isn't a shock either. Corey Patterson? Considering he was coming back from a season ending injury that requierd surgery, I don't see it as a shock that's he's not lived up to expectations. To go along with the fact that he has the plate discipline of lets say, Joe Crede? Sosa sneezing? lol. I can't even comment on that one. But I will say this. Their offense was better when Sosa was out. Hollansworth or however you spell his name did a fine job replacing Sosa. So you can only go so far with that. Lee got off to a slow start. But the guy is hitting over .300 now. The Cubs won 95 gms? Make that 88. And sure. They probably shoud've gotten to the series and won. But they choked. And like you said. EVERYBODY was picking them. I don't care what anybody says. It's alot easier being the underdog then it is when you're the favorites. Some teams can handle big time expectaions "Yankees". Some teams crumble "Cubs". The Cubs are mentally weak. When things don't go their way they panic and fall apart. I knew the Cubs would crumble. I didn't think it would be this bad. But i've seen enough and witnessed enough to know that somehow, someway, the Cubs will f*** up. As far as the Cards go. You're right. Coming into the season not a whole lot of people thought they would contend. They have the best offense and defense in the league, to go along with a pretty solid pen. The question was their starting pitching after Morris. Funny thing is. Morris has probably been their WORST starter. Suppan, Marquis, And Carpenter have been outstanding. Can they keep it up? Maybe. There's no reason to believe they can't. But consider this. What if Morris and Woody do get back to pitching like they're capable? That will make up for any slippage by the other 3. The Cards r just a good team. Better than the Cubs. On Paper? Probably not. But overall? Yup.
  9. f***. They just tied it up.
  10. Cubs down 4-2 to the Reds. This is comedy. They just tied the game up at 2, Then Clement goes right back out and gives the 2 runs back. This team is dead. Too bad the Sox suck ass too. I would enjoy this more.
  11. Cubs are already down 2-0 to the Reds. lol. I couldn't have scripted this collapse any better if I tried.
  12. Is this true? They're complaining about our division? That's funny. I don't remember there's being that great last year. They won a whopping 88 gms last year. That's 3 less than the wild card Marlins. And they really didn't take off until they fleeced the Pirates in those horrible 1 sided trades. Add to that, their end of the season schedule last year consisted of the Reds, Pirates, and Brewers. Who were all horrible.
  13. lol. I can't get into rookie ball.
  14. Sweeney is on a fricken tear. His average has gone up like 30 points in the last 3 weeks.
  15. Close. They're 11-8 against them
  16. We tried to tell them, Rowand. They wouldn't listen. They fell for all the media hype. Peter Gammons pickin them to go to the series. The cover of si. I mean everybody was pickin them. But I knew better. They are the CUBS. No matter what. They will always be the CUBS. They will always find someway to f*** it up. Last years playoffs collapse wasn't a fluke. They're the CUBS.
  17. Not really. The guy is an asshole. He deserves it.
  18. Who gives a s*** what the Cards do in the playoffs? They've done their part to make sure the Slubs don't go anywhere near them. And for that, i'll be cheering for them.
  19. lol. That's right. Spando was in here for 2 or 3 weeks straight tellin us how godly the Cubs were and crucifying anybody who didn't agree with him. There was even a thread "that i'm too lazy to look up" of him saying that this time next year the Cubs would be on their way to their 2nd world series, while the Sox would be all but forgotten. I haven't seen him around since the Cubs nosedive. Is he hiding out with Steve Bartman?
  20. I think the pressure is starting to catch up with the Slubs. This was the first time in 54785426432655326053253 years that they've been the favorites. The pressure and tension is obviously building. They can forget about winning the division. The Cardinals are simply a better baseball team. And by the looks of things, they're gonna be in a dogfight for the wild card with 3 or 4 other teams.
  21. Wow. The Lakers have a real center now. NOT!
  22. Oh well. If we can't get him I hope the Cardinals or one of the other nl contenders do. In the event the Slubs make the playoffs.
  23. I don't see the Hornets winning 40+ games. They barely topped that last year in the east.
  24. Way to go out there and shut em down Mr. 10 million dollar man.
